18.0 Firefox crashes on wmv files, the plugin WORKS

Since 18.0 cannot click wmv link, the browser just HANGS and have to close all THE TABS. I went to the Microsoft site and downloaded the Windows7 XP plugin and installed. (by the way, this plugin is 6 years old - cannot write a new MIGHTY MICROSOFT?)

So now the plugin displays installed and works, but every time I try to access a wmv file, it CRASHES FIREFOX. I have my OWN website that I can not open even more, what a shame. Help!

  • Firefox crashed at random during the loading of a youtube video, and after you restart firefox no flash program wouldn't work on the browser

    Firefox crashes randomly.
    Restart Firefox
    Do not load the YouTube videos.
    Other Web sites that uses flash to not load.
    Tried the upgrade to a more recent flash, although 11.3 causes use of the CPU for a reason, so I upgraded to 11.2
    Videos do not load.

    Hello

    You can try to Uninstall and reinstall Flash. If the problem persists you can also temporarily disable Flash in (Alt + T) Tools > Addons > Plugins and try the HTML5 videos wherever possible. Most of the videos without ads embedded have equivalents of HTML5. You can also try opening the problematic sites in IE Tab + or IE Tab in Firefox.

  • Firefox crashes when I remove the message "Test Pilot"

    As I rebooted my PC (IBM thinkpad T43 running windows XP), Firefox sticks a message on the screen, heading ' new study test pilot ' with the message 'test pilot 'Firefox Desktop Heatmap 2012' is about to begin.
    I can't get rid of this message. If I click on the Red to close X, or the message "Details" Firefox crashes and I get "we're sorry, Firefox has a problem and crashed. How can I clear this message without crashing? Thanks for the info, John

    Yesterday I received an email informing me of the latest beta of Firefox was ready. I have currently in progress (version 13.0b1) and can confirm that this solves the problem. I no longer get the message that has been obscuring the corner of the screen. Thanks for the extremely fast response... • Firefox crashes 2 seconds after the start. This happened after repair upgrade to Windows 7

    After repair, update Firefox (9.0) will not work. I finally uninstalled and reinstalled without success. Following your directions of support I tried to delete my profile with partial success with a new Firefox profile would be run once and then back to an apparent after 2 seconds accident (as seen in Task Manager). After each new profile he followed the same routine of work once. Any help would be appreciated.

    Try a "clean reinstall" Firefox by removing the Mozilla Firefox installation directory before you reinstall, as explained in these articles:

    If Firefox still crashes after a clean reinstall, try the suggestions in the article Firefox crashes - help out, prevent and get help fixing accidents here and, if possible, after a crash report ID, as explained later in this article.

  • Firefox crashes when I press the button clear cache. Please tell me how to fix this. Thanks in advance.

    Firefox uses a lot of memory and slows down considerably. I tried to clear the cache, but this browser caused from freezing. I rebooted, rebooted and upgraded to 5.0 with no improvement. Please notify.

    I have Firefox 6.0 running on Vista.

    I have a sneaking suspicion that the subprogramme which 'clears the cache', et al, has a incomplete, incorrect disposal problem, "in use" or "infinite loop" elements, such that it crashes when you try to do.

    After a few tries, I found that the best way to solve this problem is to do the following (it is easier than it sounds):

    (1) close all tabs of Firefox and Firefox windows

    (2) lance the Task Manager and stop all processes "Firefox" (i.e., it is possible that more than one may be running, even if you did all of the step (1)).

    (3) go to the folder Firefox cache, usually located in < system drive > \Users\ < your personal folder named > < something > \AppData*\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\. default\Cache and destroy everything that appears under this directory (n. b., you should not require administrative level to do this, if so, try to do this in 'Safe' Mode). {* AppData may be a "hidden" folder}

    (4) start Firefox, select Tools-> Options->
    Advanced-> network-> clear now.

    (5) close Firefox.

    (6) restart Firefox.

    Firefox ran faster after that I did.

    Good luck!

  • Migration DB Manager updated and reinstalled the plugin works only half

    Has decided to migrate my db update today to a sql server Manager, we virtualized.  Everything went pretty smooth.  I had to reinstall the plugin due to a new certificate running if after doing all this and reconnected all the plug-in loaded correctly.

    When I go to analyse if I let 'patches and extensions' and 'upgrades' checked the plugin breaks and I have to wait a bit and reactivate it.  If I just scan for 'patches and extensions' it works fine and if I just scan for "upgrades" it breaks.

    My SQL DBA says I can only hit a database and no other connections try to do, but maybe we missed something?

    Someone had a problem like this before?

    Thank you

    VMware, called today and basically just had replace me my database as the patch taken in charge.

    Cor - el will no doubt come with suggestions. I will list the accident report Details incase they help someone. The accident occurred when a component associated Windows is in use. Have you ensured you have no background task running, and no unnecessary plugins Firefox are running.

    No reason to expect to be directly related, but a previous incident with the same signature took place when bookmarks were used, and the solution in this instance was:

    I found out that an option in Microsoft File Explorer caused the crash.
    To solve this:
    - Go to "Organize"
    - Choose "Folder and search options"
    - uncheck "Automatically expand to current folder"

     Now Firefox won't crash again!

    Your reports for s CrashID all have the same signature
