1Z0-042: exam: shared servers / dedicated

Hi all

Do not know if you answer this type of question here, but the what h3ll...

The exam paper indicates that you should be able to identify when / when not to use shared servers. However the Sybex book goes into a lot of detail about this (inclduing a good in examples of questions), and Oracle Press book has a much 'lighter' vision of the subject.

With this in mind, it seems that the review covers only a small aspect of the object (a good thing from my point of view!). Am I correct, or I'd be sure that I know him minutae CIRCUITS, parameters SHARED_SERVER_SESSIONS & DISPATCHER_RATE view (s) etc.

In fact authority for the 1z0 - 042 exam subjects:

This has been updated account 10 gr 2 subjects in November 2006. (Subjects may even have changed since then, but I don't think).

It seems to me that your books dating back to front. They might even have been prepared while the review was in beta.

In general the Sybex book IMHO is sometimes a little higher in these things in relation to the press of the Oracle, but its all good things anyway and useful to know.

Personally, I thought that the statement in this post:

Indicated that he used the Sybex book as main guide with the Oracle (press) a title of supplement. Reasonably clear. Another interesting concept is to actually use both. Referring now to go back to the link above.

OU is always a safe choice, an OEAC should be safe, as long as they deliver a course under the ORGANIZATIONAL unit.

So, excluding Oracle Academy program of development of labour leaves leaves (WDP).

Sometimes it seems to me also possilble an OEAC can offer a course under (WDP).

... If you do the course in framework of the WDP, then the rules can be as follows:
-You are only allowed to make a maximum number of hours / week.
-You will need to make 11g DBA admin 2 or whatever they call it (I never go a lot on these names... a name can be manipulated, misused, abused, confused, misinterpreted and misunderstood in a misleading way).
-The quality of the teachng o n WDP can sometimes be much less than others.
-The course of the WDP will be generally much cheaper.
-Your contract with the Institute of the WDP rather than Oracle... is if something is wrong with your problem with the Institute of the WDP no Oracle. (This may also apply to o).
-I think with WDP you used to have to complete the DBA track all end to end, I think only a course (or 11(f) DBA admin I or 11g DBA admin II) is required.
-I recommend you to get in writing, not orally, of the Institute of the WDP class you have booked and paid for will satisfy the validitating cover the hands on training for Oracle 11 g OCP DBA Certification requirements.

Oracle WDP institutes must be identifiable here: https://workforce.oracle.com/pls/wdp/new_home.main

  • Can I take the 1z0-042 (10g admin 1) after exam 1z0-007 Oracle 9i

Hello! I have a question about the Oracle 10g admin 1 (1z0-042) Certification.

    I passed 1z0-007 SQL Oracle 9i in December 28, 2012.
Now, I decided to complete tracks of OCP DBA in Oracle 10 g.
    My Questions are,

    1 should I should I improve?
    2 Does1z0-042 complete my GED?

    3. I will have the choice to complete OCP 1z0-043 taking?

    According to this link

Oracle exam 1Z0-007 is deleted: for me what mean?

It is clear that I can take exam 1z0-042 having previous passed1z0-007 (SQL 9i).

I just request this to my satisfaction before preparing for the next review.

    Thank you...

So, is he put the last hand I can take 1z0-042 without upgrading only 1z0-007 in order to complete OCA 10 g admin-1?

    It's 1z0-007 > 1z0-042 > 1z0-043 = OCP?

    The answer to your question is Yes.  1Z0-007 > 1z0-042 > (1z0-043 + training) = 10 g OCP

There is no such thing as upgrading your credentials SQL Fundamentals.  They are marked by a release of the database only for the convenience of the OU.  I discuss here:

    Konnichiwa,

It's the Japanese edition. All Oracle exams are conducted in English, regardless of the country except the Japan where they are in Japanese.

I guess that ENU is the abbreviation of IN / United States that all examinations in English are made in American English (which essentially means that there a lot of typos in because he isn't English authentic).

  • Shared and dedicated server...

    Dear all,

Can someone tell what is the difference between shared and dedicated servers? Our database is Oracle 9.0.1 in Windows 2003. Our total session is about 200. Our server is a dedicated server. What will be the benefit if we change our database to a server shared for specific users?

The sharing pool size = 728MB
    Buffer cache = 592MB
    Java pool = 104MB
    Large pool = 60 MB

There is no pga_aggregate_target in our database. Is ok for more than 200 users configuration? Most of the time out us "process memory error." What should we do in this situation? Please suggest.

The user connected with the connection to the server has the dedicated resource to find out if the user makes the work connection remains assigned to this user. So if your username does not work and if there are fewer network resources, this user blocked another user to connect or executing the user's request by this user work queue. This connection is better when you have a lot of resources or some administrative user as "SYS", "SYS" for administrative work and for the batch,

When there is a shared server that the connection of the user is shared, it is the user connects by dispatchers and when a user is idle its resource can be used by other users, so decrease the load on the system, it is more likely in an environment where the user is essentially inactive, such as an order entry system.

In a server connection shared he dedicated also possible for the admin user.

If your environment is then shared OLTP is preferable because the tasks need little time.
If warehouse, OLAP, Data Mining, users run query long and heavy load where it is preferable to use the dedicated server.

Depends on your satisfaction and needs, if you satisfied with the load, the user is satisfied, you have a lot of resource, you can go for dedicated.
If you have fewer resources, but to support more simultaneous user shared is the best.

You have five dispatchers/dispatchers and a shared server. A Dispatcher and five servers shared would be a more normal setting. Try to launch a few servers more shared, perhaps

    alter system set shared_servers=20;

  • DB in shared or dedicated mode

    Hello

DB 11.2.0.1, we SHARED_SERVERS value 1 setting (in addition, the DISPATCHERS parameter), but a connection is made via tns with a definition file '(SERVER = DEDICATED)'.
This database runs in shared mode?

As far as I KNOW, it is only necessary to set shared_servers to a value greater than 0, and it is in mode shared... I'm wrong?

    concerning

If you specific (SERVER = DEDICATED) to connect string or sqlnet.ora dedicated_server = on then all connections are DEDICATED. In v$ session Server column gives you the process using the shared connection (SHARED or NONE value).

  • Very frustrated with 1Z0-051 exam today

This is my second time to take the exam. I studied very hard. This is my second time to take the exam. What an extra insult in damage, is that I could write PL/SQL blocks with much success in real life and in real projects. In the test report, they said that I need to review: run a basic SELECT statement. It of very embaressing and demolished my morale really.

Is it normal for one to fail the test twice?

    Please advice.

    Good afternoon

I have my BC - after a lot of sweat and worry. And to be honest, the two tests of Oracle, I took to get this OCA were both more difficult tests, that I've ever taken in my life; and that includes College.

Don't fight too much. I took 1Z0-007 and 1Z0-147 with no experience of work, the time of classes and study of Oracle.

You'll get there. Do not be discouraged.

    Don.

I was under the impression, as described in the documentation, this means the shared server mode, and a value of 0 is the mode Server dedictaed?

The configured shared_server is used by the implementation of XML DB 11 g. The shared server is used for HTTP, WebDAV and FTP protocols. See also Oracle metalink Note 433831.1.
