2 GB WRT610N limit for file transfer

I recently bought a WRT610N.  I have set up the binding of storage with a 16GB USB flash drive.  When tranfering the files on the drive among computers on a network, it gets to 2 GB exactly then the WRT610N stop the connection and file transfer fails.  I can mount the flash directly drive and the transfer of any size of file - then replace the drive on the WRT610N and it will allow this file to be copied off so I'm sure that's not the flash player.  I also tried several computers - and the transfer always stops at 2 GB.  FAT32 is a 4GB limit - so, I'm not hitting the limit of file system.  I use the latest firmware of the 21/01/2009 - who expressly mentions the solutions of the problems with the transfer of large files.

Is anyone having the problem even ort know a fix for this?

It is a problem of file system. FAT32 sometimes has a maximum file size of 2 GB.

Try to reformat the drive in NTFS format, this will fix it.

NTFS is unfortunately sometimes reliable and officially not supported according to the knowledge base (see answer id 17144), but sometimes you can operate

    Hello

As far as I know that the infrared port is not available on the Qosmio G10.
In this case you cannot transfer files using IrDA connection.
What you can do is to use the USB Nokia cable connection or you use the IRDA to USB adapter.

  • Bluetooth file transfer has a limit of file?

    Hello!

Whenever I want trabsfer any file via Bluetooth, I right click on the Bluetooth in the notification area icon and select 'receive a file '.

Can I send a file from my Bluetooth enabled mobile.

Small files (less then 300 KB) are transferred, but for files over large (more than 300 KB approximately) it is said that:

"Windows was unable to transfer files.

The transfer was cancelled by the Bluetooth device or a Bluetooth compatible computer. »

The transfer of files through Bluetooth has a limit of size of file in Windows 7, because on Windows XP, there is no problems.

    Help, please...

    Hi Afonso,

Here is some information on Bluetooth stacks:

I suggest testing the phone with another computer to make sure that it is not causing a conflict.

  • Changing to a new computer from vista to windows 7. My file transfer and deletion of personal information, including files from my old computer for security reasons

I'm about to change my old computer (windows vista) to a new all-in - one computer that has windows 7. Am I right in thinking that I can transfer my files incl. photos to an external hard drive and then plug that to my new download or is it more than that. Also, I have macafee protection on my old computer and don't know how to transfer to my new one cos I don't think that's it (we bought it second hand on ebay), and this should be done first.

Finally how to make sure that none of my personal information is nowhere on my old for security reasons?

I would appreciate any advice, thanks

    Several options;

    (1) simple, connect you external hard drive copy data

Or use the backup software which may be preinstalled on the outside

    (2) for easy transfer Windows http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows7/Products/features/Windows-Easy-Transfer

    Old PC;

The windows recovery discs to retrieve destructively to factory settings

    McAfee

Uninstall on the old PC to the new PC, uninstall any trial version pre-installed anti-virus, reboot, reinstall McAfee from original installation media using your key

    New PC

Make sure that it has been reset to the State of the plant, before you do something with it, because you don't know what the previous user used during or installed on it.

There are several ways to do so.   Here are a few:

    1. the data from the old machine by email and read it on the new.

    2. the two machines of the network and transfer of data over the network.

3 remove the drive from the old computer and install it temporarily (or permanently) in the new computer or in an external USB enclosure.

    4. use floppy disks and cover the largest files on several disks using a file splitting program (or any standard zip utility, which can do this too).

5 copy the files on CD

    6. copy files to a USB key.

Which of these is best for you depends on several things: the amount of data you transfer, if you plan to keep the old computer, you are ready to spend a few dollars for a USB key if you do not, etc..

  • Mini Mac server - attachment of external hard drives file transfer speed

    Hi guys!

I wanted to increase the speed and storage capacity to transfer to my Mac mini file, so I bought a box of external hard drives. The one I bought is: http://www.icydock.com/goods.php?id=219

Built-in the Mac mini hard drives transfer the file to 60 MB/s (writing and reading) and I wanted to get better speed of file transfer, so I bought an SSD that is going to be inside with an another HARD drive of 3 TB for archiving my files. The housing is connected by USB3.0 (5 Gb/s) for the Mac mini.

    [SSD-> files I opened every day] - speed around 550 MB/s write and 500 MB/sec in reading

[HDD-> Archives, files that I have does not open very often] - speed around 150 MB/s write and 150 MB/sec in reading

So I did some benchmarks on my new Setup, and the speed is not really what I expected. Transfer of file max speed I have achieved is about 100 MB/sec in writing on the external SSD plugged into the mac mini. This transfer has been filed since an iMac 21 "2011 with an SSD (with almost the same speed read/write than the box) so it's quite disappointing.

It is possible that the Mac has a 'file transfer speed limit' is somewhere? Or whatever else that could affect that?

    More information on my setup:

    Mac Mini server 2012 - 2 TB RAID 1 - Mac OSX 10.9.5

    iMac 21 "2011 - Crucial SSD 275 Gb - Mac OSX 10.9.4

    IcyDock external enclosure - 4 bays, USB3 5 Gb/s

    -Red WD HDD 3To

    -Crucial SSD 1 TB

    Together internal Gigabit Ethernet network

    Thank you!

Was perhaps Spotlight indexing external at the same time, the test has been done?

  • File Transfer issue between 10.4.11 + 4.4 Android phone

    Hello.

I recently got a Polaroid link 6 "A6WH smartphone, Google Android KitKat 4.4 running, and despite being told of Polaroid that I should be able to transfer files (ie. photos, music, videos) between this phone and a G4 aluminum PowerBook running OS 10.4.11 (old, Yes, I know!), I can't. I was told that I have to download Android File Transfer, which I did, but it didn't work (it only works on OS 10.5). Android File Transfer is Version 1.0 - I don't think that there is no earlier version.

I tried to search on this forum and elsewhere online, some have suggested other programs, such as AirDroid, but when I tried to download them, they would not work with OS 10.4.11.

I was able to transfer files over a Bluetooth connection - and only from the computer (and not vice versa). The USB cable provided with the phone doesn't seem to work (anyway) without a program to make it easier.

Any suggestions for transfer files (ie. photos, music, videos) between these devices - via the USB port, or even simply through Bluetooth, back from the phone to the computer?

Also, are all the programs available to convert video to MP4 format files, as I can't get the phone to open any other format - BTW, free is better!)

Note: I would have gotten an iPhone, except for the fact that we tried to get rid of some AirMiles points that were about to expire, and they have not one!

    Thank you

I have (and have had) smartfones non-Apple for some time

To transfer ALL kinds of files, I just use an intermediary "cloud service".

Many here will advise you http://dropbox.com/ as a reliable and free service

    * NOTE: Dropbox is more supported by OS X Tiger with their desktop app - but access via the Web site is not affected (I use TenFourFox: a fork of Mozilla Firefox ESR 38 for Power Macintosh and Mac OS X Tiger PowerPC as a browser)
