2 on 4 broken USB Ports on Satellite A135

One day I was on my laptop Toshiba satellite a-135 and my optical mouse began to blink.
I unplugged it intends to plug back in and the problem fixed. When I plugged it back in, the light in mice did not illuminate, no computer has yet noticed it.
Then I moved it to a different port, and he didn't notice it either. The other two ports on the right side of my laptop it recognized and worked.
Physically, nothing broken or moved that I can see. In Device Manager it says there are 3 usb root hubs, and it says very well.
I don't know how o fix this, and help is much appreciated.

Thanks, brent

Hello, Brent

In my opinion this is the technical problem, and I'm afraid there is nothing you can do alone. I also believe that the verification of only ordinary material can say why these ports do not work. There must be a contact problem.

I don't know where you live, but you need to contact the service. They allow to check the laptop.

    Hello Lainyb,

Disconnect all USB ports as the first.

    1. click on start and type: devmgmt.msc in the start search box and press on enter. Click on continue if your computer requests.

    2. in Device Manager, double-click Bus USB controllers, right click on the controller host, click on uninstall and click Ok.

    3. Repeat step 2 to remove all items under 'USB Bus controllers'.

Restart your PC and Windows will reinstall all USB ports.

  • Cracked screen and faulty USB ports on Satellite A105-S1014

On my Satellite A105-S1014 screen is cracked and needs to be replaced. How much cost could replace the screen?

In addition, my phone and USB ports do not work properly. This problem arise well before that I accidentally cracked the screen. Some times when I turn first of all the computer, USB port and telephone ports work for awhile and then after a period of time ranging from a few minutes to several hours, they badly run simultaneously and the computer says that what is in the USB port does not work and that there is no dial tone in the phone port that I use to access dial-up. At the beginning, I don't have this problem with the Toshiba laptop, but it arises after about three months.

My warranty has expired. How much it could cost to solve the problem of the phone and USB ports?

    Hey Buddy,
I can't tell you how much would it cost to fix these two things, but I can tell you that you buy rather a new machine because the display and motherboard are the most expensive parts in your machine. Since your ports USB and your RJ11 (phone port) don't work anymore and this stuff is on the motherboard, I guess you have to swap the motherboard, too.

I suggest you to sell your machine @ ebay and buy another. It would be too expensive to fix your machine. Believe me, I had a case of simiar and parts cost more then buy a new machine that was more recent and better performance.

Just my opinion and just a thought for you... :)

  • The sad story of a broken usb key and data loss

My daughter accidentally broke his USB stick in half (literally), not only the piece at the end.

The stick had him a level work for English and photography on this issue and has not been saved to anywhere else... (yes I know)

Last year she sustained upward, this year she does not, do not know why...

The general opinion is that the stick is too damaged to recover the data and if we could (by sending to the company) would entail a very heavy cost.

Is it possible to retrieve information in his computer? (Mac Book Pro 15 "mid-2010)

    Thank you.

Hope this isn't a stupid question, but I'm just not enough knowledge to know whether it is the possibility.

If she manually recorded on his computer or dragged and drip files then yes but if it was on the broken USB port it does not move to the host computer on its own.

  • Pavilion g6 1307ex: usb port

There are 3 usb port on my laptop.but 2 has been corrupted. can fix the usb port? I want to say can I replace the usb port goes shop of any laptop? Please answer me it will help me and others.

USB ports do not corrupt. They are the hardware, not software. They may be physically broken or traces on the motherboard of the laptop may have on topical issues.

Some owners of notebok abused usb ports by forcing a connector inside, that infringes on a physical port.

Broken usb ports require a complete replacement of the motherboard of the laptop to solve the problem. They are integrated on the motherboard and are not a separate part.

So, no, you can't repair a usb port.

The drivers for the ports, which are software may be damaged. A driver problem is usually quite simple as a matter of relocation.

  • * USB ports and my printer problems

My laptop is Windows Xp edition sp2 family.

My old HP laptop computer of 4 years has 4 USB ports. Unfortunately, 3 of the 4 ports broke physically, so I only have a single functional port.

A port that works cost of my cell. So I know it works. But now, only 40% of the time it will print when I plug my 750 HP printer all in one in it.

Otherwise, it will display a "?" on the printer in the taskbar icon. Once, I unplugged the USB cable and plugged into the broken USB port holding it still and it actually print my papers.  But as I said I have been lucky that day cause these 3 ports are broken.

What can I do to make the only port 1 have, can work for all devices I. It seems not only act with the printer.

In addition, supplants ports broken something painful, costly or difficult to do? I know it can vary depending on the brand of the phone... But overall, it might be an easy solution?

    Thank you all in advance...

It is an alternative to repair broken ports, you can purchase a usb hub, you can insert it in the usb port that works, and then use the available ports on the hub. Find out the nearest computer to usb hub store.

    I hope this helps.

Any chance to the broken USB port is _causing_ the problem of the motherboard?  What are the symptoms?

There is a certain posts here saying that the bent pins in a USB connector shorted something (power 5V, perhaps) and prevented a motherboard of shooting upward.  If you straighten the bent pin the mobo comes to life?

I guess the end of the game is the same in any event.

That s very strange and I cannot believe that
I mean if the PIN to USB ports was broken on the first day of purchase, then why you didn't visit your dealer and asked the replacement of the laptop?

    Hello

the best way is to contact a Toshiba service partner to get the right parts for the USB port.

You can use this port Duplicators:

USB 2.0 Port Replicator II (Ethernet / UK Version) PX1173U-1PRP

Hello. Deploy a Satellite 1900-303 with two USB ports. One of the ports stopped working. I guess it's permanently broken. Just browse the site, it seems that the easient of thing to do would be to get a Port Replicator - one of them:

I wanted to know is it just to sink my remaining a USB port, so that I get 4 USB ports (and all others)? What USB speed I would get?

    Hello

As far as I know the unit supports USB 1.1
So I guess if you are using a USB hub external, USB ports work with USB 1.1 properties.

  • Satellite A200 - USB Ports stopped working

Hallo, I am DESPERATE for help, please.

I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite A200 series with 32-bit Windows.

My USB ports give me major problems.

I use a USB Internet Modem on multiple computers and it works fine on all computers, including Toshiba.

A month earlier, Internet USB would suddenly and constantly disconnect itself from the Internet, when I use it in the USB one. When I use USB port two, he recorded no more. The port does not have the device.

Two USB ports work well when used by other USB products.

I had always used Internet USB into the USB port, with a cooling for my laptop fan, USB 2 port. Now, when I insert the cooling fan, USB Internet disconnects and will not register, at least I have remove fan, remove and reinsert the USB Internet.

    I did the following:

    1. start an anti-virus
2 uninstall, re-install and update all the drivers for the USB, chipset famlies, Internet Modem ports, EVERYTHING.
    3. I checked with my Internet provider, the problem lies in my PC, not them.

I don't know what to do, I'm tired.

    Help, please!

Now, when I insert the cooling fan, USB Internet disconnects and will not register, at least I have remove fan, remove and reinsert the USB Internet.

I think that it is a problem of USB power.

The USB 2.0 port provides 500mA, and in some cases more than USB ports can be connected to the same power supply to the motherboard.
In case the USB device connected (in your case fan) would need more than 500 ma, it could be that other USB devices do not work correctly.
I recommend you go to Device Manager and select the properties of USB controller.

The last "Power Management" tab contains the option to turn off the device to save power.
This option should NOT be checked. It should be disabled.

    Check it out.
