2008 R2 customization by changing the name of the local administrator to administrator account

VMware View 4 on vSphere ESX 4 environment.

Windows 2008 R2 Standard VM.

Customization file used by VIC when VM deployment model.

Local Admin account has been changed to "OscarAdmin".  When sysprep runs, it changes (or deletions / recreate) the only administrator Local "Administrator" account  We do not have the customization add new machine virtual domain but which shouldn't matter.  How do we stop Sysprep, invoked by the deployment of VIC VM, change "OscarAdmin"?

Just add another account administrator, OscarAdmin.

Let sysprep anything to do with the original account and use Group Policy to disable the default and just keep a new.

    Hello

I would like to enter an existing CustomizationSpec and change the local administrator password before deploying a clone, but I don't want to change the stored specification or create a new.

    I tried:

    $spec = get-OSCustomizationSpec MySpecName

    $spec. ExtensionData.spec.Identity.GuiUnattended.Password.plainText = $true
    $spec. ExtensionData.spec.Identity.GuiUnattended.Password.value = 'newpass '.

Then, I deployed a clone using $spec, but I can not connect to the clone with the new password or the original source VMs (blank) password.

Can it be done without the help of the New-OSCustomizationSpec cmdlet?  -I'm not really a real spec created in the database that I have to delete it later, in large part because I would have to enter new credentials in the script domain user, or pull of an existing spec (don't know if it works well)

    I used PowerCLI 4.1 build 332441 U1

    See you soon

You will need to provide a VirtualMachineCloneSpec to the CloneVM_Task method.

Here you can to place the CustomizationSpec, which is part of the CustomizationSpecItem.

The following script is what you asked for.

    $vmName = "SourceVM" $vmNewName = "NewVM" $baseOSCustomizationName = "test" $newAdminPswd = "newpassword"

    $vm = Get-VM -Name $vmName $folder = Get-Folder -Name vm -Location (Get-Datacenter -VM $vm)

    $cust = Get-OSCustomizationSpec -Name $baseOSCustomizationName$spec = New-Object VMware.Vim.CustomizationSpecItem$spec.Spec = $cust.ExtensionData.Spec

    $spec.spec.Identity.GuiUnattended.Password = New-Object VMware.Vim.CustomizationPassword $spec.spec.Identity.GuiUnattended.Password.plainText = $true $spec.spec.Identity.GuiUnattended.Password.value = $newAdminPswd$cloneSpec = New-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineCloneSpec $cloneSpec.customization = $spec.Spec$cloneSpec.poweron = $true$cloneSpec.template = $false$cloneSpec.Location = New-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineRelocateSpec$vm.ExtensionData.CloneVM($folder.Extensiondata.MoRef,$vmNewName,$cloneSpec)

Note that the new virtual machine is placed at the root of the data center.

  • How do I open a session with the local administrator account in Windows 8

    Hello

About two weeks ago, I bought my laptop Dell Inspiron 15 inch 7000 Series that pre-installed with Win8 Japanese worm.

Tried to download the Win8.1 from the store to Win, but asked me to identify a user with administrative privileges.

When I booted up my laptop, it only prompted me to my Windows account (created this account I've first turning on my laptop).

How can I change to log to the local administrator account when starting my laptop?

  • CRS-4124 after removing the local administrator account

    Oracle 11.2.0.3 EE

    Windows Server 2008

We have installed the Oracle Grid software and the database software using the local administrator of the windows operating system account. Later, the customer has deleted this account windows for security reasons. After that and rebooting the system, the Oracle does not start and displays the following errors:

CRS-4124: Oracle high availability Services startup failed.
CRS-4000: Start command has failed, or completed with errors.

After you add the local administrator of the OHA succeeds to start. But we need a solution without a local administrator without having to reinstall the Oracle software.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Wolfgang,.

You are not supposed to remove the user from the administrator that was used to install the software. You can lock that counts if him want, however, you do not delete the account

  • good way to change the standard administrator accounts

I'm looking for the right way to change some of the administrative accounts on macs, I support since administrative Standard.

the systems in question have at least two accounts of adminsitive and I only will this happen to one of these accounts.

Currently, there are data for users (images, music, etc.) in their accounts of the House.

Is it simply a matter of the past as long as administrator on a single account, by selecting the other account and by unchecking the box "allow user to administer this computer" or is it more than that, such as the creation of accounts entirely new?

It is also mainly a matter of 10.9, but I have a system running 10.10, which must also be addressed.

He need only disable this checkbox.

  • What would prevent a local administrator to change the local policies?

The problem occurred on a workstation XP (svc pk 3) within a W2K3 domain. It is the only station working (103 others) which I can't distance in via mstsc since my post (also under XP svc pk 3). I went (work to) the workstation and connected as a local administrator, and then have pulled-up gpedit so that I could change the local user rights policy for "Refusal to logon via the Terminal Services" to remove the Everyone group. But the two buttons are grayed (add user or group, and delete). After reviewing several other local policy settings, I found that they also had their gray button. I then tried the same thing connected as a domain administrator. No joy. The same problem. I couldn't change the local policy settings through my domain administrator account or the local administrator account. So I checked the default domain and all policy policies assigned to the ORGANIZATIONAL unit in which resides the problem workstation account. All of these policies had the "Deny logon via the Terminal Server Services of' value 'undefined '.  Is it possible that one of our administrators changed the permissions on a registry key where the policy settings so that only he could change local policy on this box? Or is there another explanation?

I found the solution. I had to give administrators complete control over HKLM\SECURITY. Once I made this change I could once more change local policy. Now, I need to implement a method to push this change for all our workstations...

  • I can't change the time zone, date or account settings

I recently installed Windows 8 and put in place a local account as a Microsoft account. Problem is, after the connection with my Microsoft account, I can no longer access the local account, change the date or time. The computer is checked on my Microsoft account. I'm going to user settings and literally I can't do anything, despite being an administrator. I clicked on several of the options, but they do not react in any sort of way.

    There are the links:
    (1) change your account type
    (2) manage another account
    (3) change user account control settings

    Any unreactive.

I'm going to change the time and I get the message:

    [Window title]
    Date and time

    [Main instruction]
    Unable to continue

    [Content]
You are not allowed to perform this task. For help, please contact your computer administrator.

So, I turned on the local administrator account. And it won't let me change the account settings, but it will allow me to change the date and time. It's funny.

So, how can I make my original local account available again? Why am I having these problems with the operating system in the first place?

PS - I find more and more things I can't access, such as parental control. It really starts to check me.

You have a virus I guess juice to refresh the PC if it does not work go for Reset, see this link: http://winsupersite.com/windows-8/windows-8-tip-reset-or-refresh-your-pc

  • I recently changed the password on my Microsoft Account (aka Windows Live ID) and I can't connect is no longer in silver version Sunset

I recently changed the password on my Microsoft Account (aka Windows Live ID) and I can't connect is no longer silver bed version of Sun.

I tried both my old and new passwords several times. I checked that I use the correct password by signing in Outlook.com; MSN.com; etc - they all work, but I can not connect cash

The problem is solved (for me at least) but not the way you suggested.

First of all, some information more:

It seems that the problem is that the local file (on my hard drive) of MS Money had an old password set in cache, and he was unable to recognize that the password has been changed (in the cloud) and so it must use this new password as a valid key to open the file.  It was weird - MS Money knew had changed my password (it wouldn't accept my old password) but he didn't have to use the new password either.

I think it's partly because the silver Sunset version was never to be 'online' and in fact there are some recommendations when you install Money Sunset to stop using a Microsoft Account (and password) and just use a local (for this file only) user name and password if you wish.

In any case, I was able to work around this problem by:

    [a] disconnected from the internet

[b] opening of MS Money and signing with my old password

In this way, MS Money failed to check online if my password has been changed, so he simply accepted my old password.

As soon as I got the MS Money file, I changed it to stop using a Microsoft Account to access the file.

I hope that makes sense and is useful to others out there who have had similar problems.

Please see image attached. Responses from the eyes of local folders as responses to the discussion groups. No signature or formatting options. How can I change the local folders meets regularly, as they are in the Inbox?

I don't think that the format of replies to the messages in the local folders are linked with focus groups or to individual account settings. As local folders can contain messages between several accounts or identities, it is more likely that formatting uses the setting of the account or identity appearing in the: field when you reply.

This is how I think it should work. How this works in practice may be different.

    Hi MichaelConner1,

You can keep the individual mouse for each user account on the computer.

  • I'm unable to change the family settings on standard account even though I am the administrator

I am the administrator and want to change the settings for games/ratings on my son's standard user account, but it won't let me... Very frustrating!

He returns constantly with the message: unable to make changes to parental controls settings. If the problem persists, consult your system administrator

I have read many previous posts on this issue, but it seems that nobody has provided a solution that I can find!

    Hi TeenaWilson,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for the query display. Looks like you are not able to modify the parental control on a standard account.

    Try these steps and check:

    Method 1:

Disable UAC (User Account Control) and check the result.

See: How can I change the behavior of user account control by using the slider?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-I-change-the-behavior-of-user-account-control-by-using-the-slider

Note: You must restart your computer when you enable or disable UAC. Change levels of notification does not require that you restart your computer.

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

I suggest to create a new administrator account and log later in the new administrator account, try to set parental controls and check if it works.

    Create a user account

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/create-a-user-account

    Step 2:

If the problem persists not in the new user account, try and fix the damaged user account, follow the link below:

Difficulty of a damaged user profile

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/fix-a-corrupted-user-profile

    Method 3:

I suggest that you can exercise SFC scan and check if TI the problem persists. To do this, please see the following article.

The SFC/SCANNOW command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions. For more information how to make SFC / scan, please follow the following link:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Check out the link below to check if the parental control is correctly defined

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/set-up-parental-controls

Hope this information helps. If you have any other questions feel free to respond and we will be happy to help you.
