3000 Y500 gets off after starting

Hi all

I have Lenovo 3000 Y500 series laptop PC with Windows Vista installed with it. I am facing a problem with it. When I start it in Normal mode, it gets turn all of a sudden after the start, but in safe mode, it works fine. He has no problem in safe mode. Can anyone suggest the cause and the solution for this?

Also I don't have a Windows installation/recovery CD with it. So in the case of windows reappattage how can I get the CD?

I would be grateful.

Any suggestion is welcome...

Try starting it in last known good configuration - press F8 after that BIOS post to see startup options.

Installation of the software usually corrupt or virus causes it.

Are you sure that you haven't delivered CD? Maybe it's in a small green book inside the laptop computer shipping box?

  • screen turns off after starting

I have Windows XP Edition family service pack 3 computer desk Dell old to two years. Recently encountered a new problem. After starting OK, the screen of the monitor removed and remained empty after a few minutes (I don't have the time, but it seems to be not in hours minutes). The computer is "on" (I hear the fan), but nothing I could "wake up".  I found the monitor connection and cables were all OK. I could restart by closing with the power switch, power failure, wait a little while and then restart. System worked normally, monitor NSB OK for awhile... and then "deleted again" after a few minutes. To try to solve the problem, I restarted (see above) and then disabled 'power save' and 'Hibernate '; all energy and hibernation is DISABLED. The problem seems to have disappeared; While we're talking the computer stays on normally with normal display, etc. Assuming that the problem is actually related to register and/or hibernate, what I have to live with these features off? Other comments as to what is the problem? Thank you. Matt Sagal

  • Satellite Pro L650 turns off after start; DC In and Power LEDs blink on stop

A friend Satellite Pro L650 having worked well until yesterday, all of a sudden turned itself off. Now, at startup, it lights up normally for about 10-15 seconds before turning off suddenly. Turned off, the DC in white/blue LED and the orange Power LED Flash on a broad set of intervals of approximately one second. This extinction happens if I leave Windows or press F2 to enter the BIOS setup.

I guess this blinking is intended to serve as a kind of diagnostic code, but I have yet to track down what it means. Can anyone help?

To avoid confusion, power without the product stack the same, sudden stop experience, except the two LEDs remain solidly lit this time. With or without battery, trying to turn on again immediately after that a shutdown produced no response at all. Remove the power cable and immediately it reconnect again and turn then produced a brutal power off, but in less than 5 seconds. More wait between attempts to market seems to give a little longer powered on State, but without fault, the machine turns off just suddenly. With its short time 'turned on' we are talking, there cannot be any kind of thermal protection?

I had an old Satellite L450D lying around that uses coincidentally the same AC PA-1750 adapter, but use it made no difference. Of course, the battery does not have the L650!

The only previous numbers, that I am aware of this machine have been intermittent case of Windows reporting "Plugged in, not charging", but as my friend use it exclusively on the network, it was not a problem.

Your thoughts will be greatly appreciated...

  • App gets paused / frozen just after start in gpu mode (audio continues to play)

    Hello
    You just bought a playbook!

I have an existing Air application on android and iOS, I am now test it on playbook.

With the rendering of the cpu, its normal, however when I put gpu in the descriptor of the app, the application stops all headphones rendering and the event just after starting the application, audio continues to play and the debugger remains connected.

I am new on the playbook, I see there are power saving mode, maybe something is asleep?

    I tried:

    QNXApplication.qnxApplication.addEventListener(QNXSystemEvent.STANDBY, qnxStandby)

    internal function qnxStandby(e:QNXSystemEvent):void {
            trace("sent into standby ----------------------------------");
    }

    but nothing is ever attributed...

The app works well on older iphones and android phones, I can't imagine I'm overloading the gpu.

I use flash builder 4.6 and that's how I am structured:

    Pseudocode

    -addChild (loadingImage.png);

    -load game.swf

    -the addchild (game.swf) full,.

    -removeChild (loading image)

When I load the main file game.swf, how it works, I get a few tracks, I can see it, but it's when he stops just of all activities and traces except audio.

the swf so good, I can load this way using the cpu on the ok of the playbook, and I can load this way on android in cpu or gpu mode.

Any help is really appreciated, thank you!

    -nick

The problem was caused by the stage.quality example layout: stage.quality = StageQuality.LOW; This caused a freeze more often on the playbook. Being new the the playbook, when I read about the power API mode I thought what was related, but no, it was just a blocking of the application, where the debugger and audio arrives to stay connected and reading. hope this helps someone else.

  • Can't get Firefox to start after OS updates

Just did the latest updates on OS - X 10.6.8 and now I can't get Firefox to start. He stands up and says he has problems (the 'annoying' window) and that I should try to close tabs. However, it does not at all, so finally I have to force quit. I try cold start the computer without effect.

We will try this. You said that you try to start Firefox 8 on the problem machine? Can you try to download Firefox www.getfirefox.com11, install it, restart your computer, and then see if it is still upward?

If this is the case, try to start Firefox in safe mode.

It always requires the batteries very well, but it won t turn on. I ve checked the ram, hard drive and I re - set the default bios - nothing prevents to cut if you can get it to turn on.

Any ideas what could be the problem? Any help appreciated, it s the second time I had - the same problem the last time!

    Thank you

    Hey,.

Have you already tried to clean the fan? Maybe a lot of dust blocking the fan for laptop can start t, and then turns off itself due to a higher temperature. It would be interesting to try to clean it.

But in my opinion, you've done everything you can do, and it looks like a malfunction of the motherboard. If cleaning using fan doesn t I think the motherboard is faulty or something else. If you are familiar with the disassembly of the laptop, you can try to fix it yourself with second hand parts. Otherwise it s time for a new laptop I think

  • T60 freezes when you move the trackpoint right after starting

    Hello

I had this problem for quite a long time. Initially, I thought that it was due to an update to Windows XP, but I couldn't find any message on newspapers when the laptop crashes. I reinstalled XP many times to get rid of any incompatibility related to the software, but even with a new installation, it was happening.

I realized recently after several tests that the problem occurred more frequently when you move the mouse (trackpoint or touchpad) just after the start of the system (cold start or start of hibernation). What I discovered is that this will happen is no longer if I suspend the laptop after starting the system, do not touch the mouse.

The symptoms are that Windows freezes. No activity at all HD, the system responds to any keyboard and mouse input. If I close the lid of the portable computer system is not put into hibernation. The only way to regain normal operation is pressing the button for a few seconds, then the system turns off, and then turn on normally.

All the drivers are up to date.

Someone at - there experience this problem?

    Thank you

Of course - you send messages to a Microsoft support forum and one could assume that you mean that you try to download Microsoft Security Essentials, save it to your computer and install it then - but even with this hypothesis - another that knowing you have Windows XP (probably Home edition, but possibly professional or Media Center editions - and probably more than 32-bit not 64 - bit)-we do not like you think we should knowledge.

Regarding AntiVirus - free are very good: Avira, AVG, Avast

You could spend ~ 60USD during two years of eSET NOD32 AntiVirus (not more - just AntiVirus.)

Get one - save on your computer (do not install immediately.)

    Reset...

After a reboot - install your new product and update after the installation.

Run a full scan with it.

Then - just to make sure you started on the right foot...

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find. Reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner. Remove everything it finds.

    Hi PAULARUNNELS,

    ·         What happens when you try to start in the Advanced startup options?

    ·         You receive the same error?

    ·         You external devices connected now?

    Try the following.

Method 1: Disconnect external devices not essential, connected to the computer and restart the computer.

Method 2: Load default BIOS (Basic Input\Output System) settings, and then restart the computer. Make sure that you have the CD drive set as first boot device. Check the settings by consulting the manual or call the manufacturer to do so.

Note: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly.

Method 3: If you are unable to start on one of the advanced startup options, and then you can follow this article.

    Hi B Odd Andersen,

I want to clarify if your computer seems to be sleeping or it completely closed after being idle for a while.

Method 1: If the computer is in power saving mode, check if you can wake the computer from this State by moving the mouse or pressing any key on the keyboard.

Method 2: Change the power to another and check to see if the problem persists
Change, create, or delete a power plan (scheme)

Method 3: check the logs in event viewer for more information on auto-off down

    Open event viewer

What are the information in event logs? (Event Viewer)

Note: For your safety and security, it is not recommended to disable Windows Update.
Activate the update or disable automatic

  • Computer Toshiba laptop turns off after 3 seconds

I can't understand what is happening with my computer, but I hope that this information will help you. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

There are 3 computers involved. One is a Toshiba laptop Satellite L300D Vista I had in December 2008 and the other two are Toshiba Satellite M110 XP portable computers that we got in December 2006 I think.

The problem started with the Vista. It stops just one day and when I tried to turn it back on, it would show the Toshiba screen for a few seconds and then die. He was the life of the battery. Tried everything, could not, so I have restored the default computer. After it's on, I loaded my music in my external hard drive and a few days later, he crashed again. I restored it again and load my music back in, and then a few days later, he crashed again. Now when I try to restore it, it does not accept the restore disc. The hard drive flashes orange several times and the disc not spin fast enough to start doing anything.

I decided to forget the vista computer, I had a year and a half... And started using my xp computer is a few years old. I've ONLY used to browse Craigslist (after I started using it instead of my Vista computer for a few days, after that the Vista) and not load any music in there. This computer has worked since then, but about a week after the death of my vista, my xp now has the same problem. It turns on for a while and then turns off immediately. Since they are the two Toshibas, they can use the same chargers so I would use the charger that comes with the vista or another, that I got off eBay a few years ago. Been using two wires forever and then everything suddenly this question not sure that it of a problem with the power or not, but one thing I noticed was my vista computer would make a rattling noise from inside the computer only when has been plugged in the charger from eBay, and I noticed my xp making the same sound as that connected with the charger from eBay just before you die too.

My brother also has a toshiba satellite m110 xp laptop, and we tried a few things with the vista computer to try to make it work. A site offered to take the RAM and try to turn it on. Nothing that's happened. We took the ram from my brothers computer which works very well and put it in the vista. Nothing happened. We took the hard drive from her computer and put it in the vista and the computer DID start up (which was great cause I've not seen on in about a month) but it started up to a blue screen. Put us the hard drive in my brothers xp and the computer was working fine... For a few hours. Now the computer will not start correctly and we are trying to restore his computer but couldn't find the restore disc. Her hard drive was in my computer literally 15 seconds and his computer is now toast.

I don't care about my laptop toshiba satellite m110 xp, but I want a solution for my toshiba laptop satellite L300D vista, and I also want to get my brothers running again because I ruined. I don't know much about computers, but my guess is that there is nothing wrong with the ram or hard drives, but something else in my vista computer that is ruining the hard drives. That still doesn't explain why my XP computer is turn off after a few seconds suddenly well. The only thing that the Vista and my XP have in common, is that they used the same power cords (which always worked fine)

If anyone can help me out or point me in the right direction, which
would be AMAZING! Thank you very much for your time

If you have problems with the Toshiba recovery media, you will need to contact Toshiba.

    It's the Toshiba recovery process.

Each manufacturer has their own particular recovery process.

And as it is now failing to do recovery required, they would be the best people to contact about this.
