30EA2 - No. databases available at the stage of Capture with the MS Access Migration

I am trying to import an Access 2007 database by using the Migration Wizard. But when I get to step 5 (Capture), no database is listed in the section 'Available databases'. I have created a connection to the Access db and can see objects in ot of SQL Developer.

What Miss me?

Can I use the SQL Developer Microsoft Access exporter to create the desired files. But I do not know how to integrate this into the process.

It seems the only available migration technique is to click on the MS Access connection and then click on "copy to Oracle.

I use SQL Developer 3.0.02 and MS Access 2007 (although I tried with MS Access 2000 as well).

Hi Ken,

Cradle of the last sheet code developing sea jan 12 - in my view, there is little or no substantive changes required for the release of the adopter later than at the beginning.

1/create and populate/associate one repository: connection (with sqldeveloper specific tables)
Create the connection to the new schema
Right-click on the connection-> rtepository-> associated migration reposiory Migration
2/create a login for the online move data
3/create a destination oracle schema
4/kickoff of the exporter:
Tools-> migration-> Microsoft Access exporter-> (choose the version)
The Microsoft Access exporter you choose Exit to SQLDeveloper (which is
-a xml for the metadata file and
-possibly move the dat files for the data in the table offline)
and you can choose the microsoft access file
-the access file you need to modify the access file to allow access to the metadata needed to create the xml file: see before the migration of Microsoft Access Help.
5 / the kickoff of the wizard
Tools-> Migration-> migration->
in the wizard
Then-> choose repository-> then connection-> the name of the type on the top and a new directory (or a directory previously used for this purpose) on the bottom, it's a base directory for example creation generated script output and possibly given offlline move scripts-> next-> offline, choose your xml file created by the Microsoft Access exporter (it must filter down xml files to make visible the xml files (, the file selector)-> then-> (note contains selected databases ) next-> then->
Choose the destination oracle schema
[I guess it comes to your own instance of XE small scratch - otherwise, you'll need to make sure that you grant privileges to this scheme, in my case that a schema has been created, called ]
[suggest drop oracle targets option if you've run through it before]
-> datamove online, choose source (access) and the destination schema (oracle)
[suggest data truncated if you have lived this before]
-next-> finish

This kicks off you could get errors in the cmd window you launched it in by
CD sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin
. \sqldeveloper
or in the logging pane.
There is a .sql file generated (a subdirectory off) the output base directory.

(1) SQL Developer 3, I don't see the possibilities to specify one file, xml or otherwise, during the migration Assistant before step 5. Can you be more specific on where you're talking about choosing a file?

("To pick up in access file is an .xml file of the exporter instead of a .ocp file (you must change the file type in the file dialog box) (the main file seems to default to the .xml)" ")

You can choose the option offline (as indicated in the instructions above), which will then choose a file (by default .ocp but a .xml filter files is also available)

I have a work request. actually, I have the same copy of the work plan WITH SSO application and the other using the scheme of authentication and authorization of apex. Both work very well. With the exception of the logout page. I create a page(#62), without tab. Just a simple HTML form that has a disconnect message. I do the authentication of the page the value "Page is public" and save. I did this (try to diag) in two of these applications and in 2 different installations of the apex.

However, when I'm not connected in the app, and I'm on this page, I get an "error: access denied by Application security control" message.

I'm just trying to go to the URL http://xxxxxxx:8090/apex/f direct? p = 110:62:0:, or just http://xxxxxxx:8090/apex/f? p = 110:62 (page 62 is the page I created and defined as public.)

It is in the apex 4.1.1. I think it should be very obvious as to why it does not, however, I'm puzzled.

    Thanks in advance.

Hey 12602240 - the problem I think you touch is not at the level of the page but on your level of app. If you go to the properties of the application, it seems that you have a system of authorisation required at the level of the app. If the page you are trying to do is after they log out, you may need to allow ANYONE to access your application to get the public pages (or take off clearance at the level of the app).

    Hello

I have 11v3 of HP - UX. I installed Oracle Standard Edition 10.2.0.1 and after that, I installed 10.2.0.4 Patch Set.
I configured the two databases using DBCA. At the end I save scripts (not create database) and run the shell script.

What is the problem? What should I do to get the opportunity to delte the two DBCA databases?

DBCA reads the ORATAB UNIX file to determine which databases exist to be deleted (and DBUA did the same thing to determine which databases are to be upgraded). Most likely the ORATAB file contains no entry without comment for your database.

    howard64,
I'm sorry that your were ill-informed but Chess Titans is not on Vista Home Basic.  With Vista, there are 3 bonus games that were available on the versions supported Windows Aero graphics.  This link mentions that these games are available with the Home Premium version: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/compare-editions/home-premium.aspx

  • With EM data masking and other utilities of security features available within the DB package

    Hello

Please let me know your experience of the difference between EM data masking Pack and other security elements such as writing, available in the database Vault.

    Kind regards

    VN

Hide data are used when you have to clone the database of production for developers. Its purpose is to sensitive data mask in the clone database and you can use several formats of masking (numbers random, random strings, shuffle of data, etc.).

The masking process is irreversible. (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e41481/tdm_data_masking.htm#RATUG04000)

    Writing of data (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/network.112/e40393/redaction.htm#ASOAG596)

"Starting Oracle 11 g Release 2 (11.2.0.4) database, Oracle data writing allows you to hide (delete) data that are queried by applications or limited users." Drafting occurs in real-time when users query the data. Drafting of data Oracle is part of the Oracle Advanced security features. »

In a nutshell, you create a policy of writing for a table using DBMS_REDACT package that will redact (mask) data for some users - depending on your political - select.

For example, a group of users will not be able to view credit card numbers (1234 5678 1235 5690-> * * * 5690). Please note that the data are not hidden within the table.

Database Vault is used to restrict powerful users (users with system privileges) to access some objects (and not only). Please see the DEMO on this link ( Oracle Database Vault |) Oracle database | (Oracle ) "

  • ORA-27063: number of bytes read or written is incorrect, no space available on the device (DB went down due to no space for the temporary file)

    Hi all

Recently, we encountered a non usual problem with restarting the database because of the ORA-27063

number of bytes read or written is

incorrect #IBM AIX RISC System/6000 error: 28: no space is available on the device.

    Database version: 11.2.0.4

    Type of system: SAP database

    Computer type: AIX

When the investigation we found the full systems 100% file where resided temporary files. So to solve it, we simply added tempfiles on other file systems.

My question is why the db restarted. As far as I know the TEMP tablespace will throw an error (unable to extend TEMP of 128 segment in tablespace TEMP) every time that

    There is no free space.

Secondly, to avoid the above, that we began to find the TEMP files from file systems and if found 90% and above then began adding space on all the production servers to avoid

reoccurance of this issue. Is - this recommended...?

    Thank you

    Hello

It can be consider as an alternative (using a cron task) or if you watch in em12c could control, so you can host some metrics to check temp space.

Now, one last thing to consider, it is not advisable to go to increase temp (to be honest, we need optimize queries, why won't they are eating take so much space)

Third step, you can put a profile (limit) so much space is used, then kill the session so that they eat no place (so that db will not get crashed at least... only session will be started - we can very well with that, instead of hammering db)

  • Not available for the 11.2.0.2.0 SUPPRESSTRIGGERS?

I want to delete triggers in my replicat, so I try the following in my settings:

    replicat myRepl

    assumetargetdefs

    dbOptions deferrefconst suppresstriggers

    username myUser, password myPw

    card schema_1.*, target schema_2.*;

But the replicate does not start, and I get the following in the ggserr.log:

ERROR OGG - 017646 Oracle GoldenGate for Oracle delivery, myrepl.prm: support for the suppresstriggers parameter is not available in the version of RDBMS you're using.

If I remove the suppresstriggers, the replicat starts.  According to the reference Guide:

"... You can use this setting for Oracle 10.2.0.5 and later patches for Oracle 11.2.0.2 and later, instead of manually disable triggers. To use this option, replicate user must be an administrator Oracle Streams, which can be granted by calling dbms_goldengate_auth.grant_admin_privilege. The default value is NOSUPPRESSTRIGGERS. »

I ran the dbms_goldengate_auth.grant_admin_privilege.  In fact, I tried to grant all privileges, but still no luck.

I'm using the version of Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64 bit on SunOS 5.10 on sparc sun4v

I'm under Oracle GoldenGate version 11.2.1.0.3

Can anyone provide any indication as to why I can't include the suppresstriggers in my replicat?  Can someone tell me how to disable the triggers can be handled differently?

Thanks in advance for any info!

Yes. You are right. I do not see properly. One more possible reason, that I could find is that you mention the SUPPRESSTRIGGERS option after DBLOGIN.  So try using this settings replicate file.

    username myUser, password myPw

I would like to know if this is the limitation of the ESX Server? How should I size the memory for VMS if I want to run every 7 virtual machines to the

Moreover, given that I have 64 GB of physical memory. Is there documentation that provides a report of the maximum allowed memory configurable

    compared to the virtual memory?

    Thank you

    Ganesh.

    Ganesh,

Memory reservations are defined based on VM by VM.

You can allocate more memory to the virtual machines you have in your host (it's not really a good idea to go crazy with the overcommitment of memory, but some level of excessive pressure is used in general).  Memory applied to your VM resources are shares, bookings and VMkernel Swap limits.

    Just to illustrate:

You allocate 8 GB memory to a virtual computer.  If you take all the parameters by default, ESX will allot a 8 GB VMkernel Swap file in the base directory of your VM (it will have the extension ".vswp") this VMkernel Swap file is a safety net.  Your virtual machine, at this stage, can consume up to 8 GB of memory If physics is available from the host.  If the memory of your host is overcommitted, some of the available memory 8 GB could be allocated on 8 GB VMkernel Swap file.

If you set a reserve of memory - 2 GB - this means that the vmkernel will still award the first 2 GB of memory used by the virtual machine to the physical memory.  This is not means that the 2 GB of memory reserved is carved off the coast and completely dedicated to the virtual machine.  This means that the vmkernel offers up to 2 GB of RAM to the VM when and if she needs to use it.  It is a guarantee that the memory will be available upon request.  Because of this guarantee of the VMkernel, VMkernel swap file only has to make sure that the 6 GB memory is satisfied (4 GB total less the 2 GB reserved), so the VMkernel Swap file is only 6 GB in size.

Actions are a mechanism for prioritization and limits are a cap on physical memory ever allocated to the VM.

You can set up any number of memory for the virtual machines that you want - frankly, overcommitment of memory for ESX is a very good thing, but you must be vigilant about watching your systems if approve you.  If you have 64 GB of RAM, and you only configure your virtual machines to use total 32G, then you lose 32 GB of RAM.  If you allocate, say, 96 GB of RAM (total) to your virtual machines, then you look at a 50% overcommitment.  What to watch in overcommitting memory is application performance (and more importantly - perception of the user of this performance) and also the memory ballooning and VMkernel Swapping activity.  Those who can both will be in graphics performance in VirtualCenter.  I would recommend reading the Guide to management resources for more details.

    Hope that provides an overview.

    Thank you

If you have removed the archivelogs at the operating system level, this fact was not in the rman catalog in the control file.

    c:> rman target /
    rman> crosscheck archivelog all;
    rman> delete noprompt expired archivelog all;

And now you have remove these logs if you don't back them up you are sunk. Take a full backup immediately.

Then put in your backup rman script commands to the archivelogs backup and remove them after that that they are saved. The details are in the documents to tahiti.oracle.com

BTW, this is a community of volunteers. If you have "urgent" that you will need to open a SR with oracle and deal with people who are paid to deal with "emergency".
