350 G1: g1 laptop 350 (i7, 1 TB 5400 RPM).

I keep finding different specifications. I want to install an SSD in the optical drive Bay. Some specifications say sata II, some sata 3. Some say that the optical drive (9.5 mm) is gen 8 other say it's not. I guess I need to know the real specs. Is SATA 3, it is better to install a SSD? If so should I put the HDD or SSD in the optical Bay port. Thank you very much.

Hello

Sorry for the late response - I will try to answer your questions.

SATA 2.6 term to the connector - not the Interface.   The Interface support is "Gen 1 SATA.  You can find him in the ODS on the specifications section.

I'm not familiar with Nimitz, so I can't comment on whether it would be appropriate or not.  I think you * could * plug in the player, but my biggest concern would be the SSD rattling in your laptop.

If I understand correctly, you have a HARD drive in the system and you try to add a second SSD.  The SSD is generally more running fast/best HARD drive so you can get it installed.

I'm not completely sure, but SATA port 0 is usually the drive C (c).  I think you will definitely need a basket if you decide to add a second hard drive.  HP does not have a shopping cart and I think it will be extremely difficult to install a second hard drive and guide the cables correctly.

  • New HDD in my Dell INSPIRON N5010 laptop, will I go to 5400 RPM or 7200 RPM HARD drive

I bought the DELL N5010 laptop about 4 years back, and currently it is more under warranty.
2 days back my hard drive crashed and could not start or install the OS as there are bad sectors on the hard drive has. I plan to buy a new hard drive.

Which one should I go for a 5400 RPM or 7200 RPM. I would go to 7200 RPM, as it is faster, but I read on the internet that the 7200 RPM generates more heat then 5400 RPM and my laptop is already facing heating problem. I had replaced the fan about 2 months as my laptop used to close because of the heat. The problem of heating has not changed, but laptop does not stop :)

Anyone using the DELL N5010 laptop with a 7200 RPM HARD drive and he's fine?

Any kind of recommendation will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the recommendation. The sales in the shop man also recommended the same thing. I bought Seagate 5200 SSHD(Solid State Hybrid Drives) which is still better than the conventional hard drive. :)

  • Is it safe to install a 7200 RPM hard drive in a laptop that originally contained a 5400 RPM HDD?

Hello.  First of all, I didn't know where to post this, so I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place.  Recently, the hard drive on my Toshiba Satellite is dead and I'm new.  I wonder if it is safe replace the dead 5400 RPM hard disk provided with the machine with a new hard drive 7200 RPM.  A few friends told me that it is perfectly safe, while others told me they burn out and possibly damage to my laptop.  What think you of all?  Thanks in advance to anyone who responds!

It is perfectly safe and preferable.  If you are going to spend more than $100 you can think of a SSD drive, if your computer is new enough (not XP or vista era) to benefit from.

Update: I thought that it was portable average size but it of a laptop thin and seems your limit at just the 1 TB HARD drive or you can swap out to a 1 TB SSD but I also what HP says about the laptop.

"1 TB 5400 RPM SATA; Flash cache: 8 GB; The flash cache module is designed to accelerate the experience of response of the system and cannot be used as extra storage. It is not removable by and not accessible to the user. »

So your expansion options may be limited. Much will depend on what size is the 1 TB of HARD drive that is currently in it right now you need to find an SSD that fits this same dimension to replace the original HARD drive that is there. But what they have now is 1 TB SSD and SSD 2 TB are quite expensive and I do not know how it dimension compared to the CT 1 SSD drives.

Then I tried to connect a different 7200 RPM SATA laptop (it was originally a 5400 RPM) to check if the rest was fine. It always shows me the error 3F0.

I tried putting the drive of the computer laptop fell on the other machine, and who is not grateful it.

I doubt that this is possible.

As I m not wrong not the F50-108 belongs to the series of PQF55E and verification of this series of models, I found and the info that this laptop supports a 320 GB (5400 RPM) SATA HDD but it doesn t support the second HDD.

However, I would recommend checking the bottom of the unit. Is there a possibility for an upgrade of the HARD drive then you should find a second HARD drive with a SATA HDD connector Bay.

  • upgrade the hard drive on hp pavilion dv3500 series

IAM using HP Pavilion DV3510nr, I want to spend my 1 TB HDD 2.5 "5400 RPM SATA Toshiba, is this possible?

All responses will be appreciated. Thank you.

SATA I (1.5 Gb/s) and SATA II (3 Gb/s) are backward compatible for the SATA standard. This means between the hard drive and chip set (motherboard) the transfer rate will be slower both SATA interface.

Support of repair of hard drives of 500 GB from factory documents, but this does not mean that a 1 TB drive does not work. In my view, that a 1 TB drive will work. My biggest concern is the thickness of the hard drive. Will a 12.5 mm thick disc enters the DV3500 and slipped into the connector. I'm not sure. you'd be better of check you the current thickness of HARD drive and getting a hard drive 9.5 mm.

It seems that you are looking to maximize the storage capacity of the Bay of your computer laptop w/1. 1 TB drive will accomplish that. For laptops 1 TB drives are 5400 RPM hard drives.

  • G6-2052er - SSD

    Hello

I have a g6-2052er Pavilion and I thought to replace my HARD drive with an SSD, but could not know if it accepts the.

Some of the discussions here say that people facing problems after buying a DDI and it turned out to not be supported by the laptop, I would not be in such a situation.

Are there examples of a successful transition to a SSD on g6-2052er?

    Thank you

An SSD is fully supported. Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See Page 36. Your laptop came with a disk 5400 RPM 320 GB. A SSD will be a huge update. If you have recovery discs you can pop in an SSD and run the recovery discs as long as you get an SSD at least the same size or larger. If this isn't the case, we can link you to a Windows 7 recovery disk. The old disk can even be copied to the new.

    I recommend this SSD:

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

    Hi @nrasupporter ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook 17 - f122ds and label identification failure MAL3H3-78C7L8-MFPV7F-60U303. This error is failure of Quick Test on drive 1. What this means is that your hard drive has failed.

I recommend the first thing you can do is to back up all your personal files etc as soon as you can.

The laptop suffered a Jolt any? I was wondering if maybe reinstalling the HARD disk would be useful.

Here is a link to check to see if you are in warranty. Page 35 of your manual shows you part numbers. It's the section I would use 778192-005 1 TB hard drive 5400 RPM, available for Windows 8.1 9.5 mm. Page 95 shows you how to remove the HARD drive.

Do not hesitate tocontact us if you need assistance.

  • to replace my laptop HP HARD drive... help!

    Hello...

    I have Hp 2000 - 2202 you series Notebook.

I'm a difficulty as to the compatibility of the current HARD disk with the following drives: -.

1)WD Scorpio Blue 500 GB computer internal laptop hard drive (WD5000LPVT)

    • The Interface SATA 3.0 Gbps
    • 8 MB Cache
    • 5400 RPM spin speed
    • 2.5-inch form factor

2)Seagate Momentus 500 GB internal laptop hard drive (ST500LT012)

    • 2.5-inch form factor
    • 5400 RPM spin speed
    • The Interface SATA 3.0 Gbps
    • 16 MB Cache

    (3)internal hard drive WD Blue 500 GB laptop computer (WD5000BPVT / WD5000LPVX)

    • 2.5-inch form factor
    • The Interface SATA 3.0 Gbps
    • 8 MB Cache
    • 5400 RPM spin speed

I get a 7200 RPM drive, but if you buy one of those, get one with 16 meg cache. It will be more efficient. Western Digital and Seagate are now or will soon be the same company. Portable hard drives now come in versions 7 and 9.5 mm. Of 7mm are necessary to Ultrabooks and other portable thin and 9.5 mm discs do not fit into a slot of 7mm, but a 7mm disc can be used in place of a drive of 9.5 mm. The connections and the mounting holes are in the same location and the thin disk rises just a bit lower in the caddy.

  • Dv5z laptop

My son is considering buying this laptop - we are eager to make the move to 64-bit ourselves, do you see any conflict with the configuration? Are there problems common with built-in webcam or fingerprint app?  Comments or suggestions appreciated. There is also an adult on his own, but just ask my opinion.

    • Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit)

Yes, the drive will work at full speed.

Remember it's a 5400 RPM HDD mechanical so he won't have the same performance that, for example, a 500 GB drive at 7200 RPM - it is a compromise in terms of speed to the high storage capacity.

  • new hard drive for laptop

I have a laptop dv7-3140el and HD samsung HM641JI 640GB 2.5 "SATA 5400 RPM (to replace car failure). To buy a new hard drive I have to take the same or I can take 7200 RPM instead of 5400? What technical specifications should I look for when buying a hard drive for computer laptop dv7-3140el? I wouldn't make a bad purchase!

    Sorry for my bad English

    Hello

Here are a few points to note when replacing your HARD drive:

You are not limited to any particular drive manufacturer.

The speed of rotation of the disc can be 5400 RPM or 7200 RPM

The new drive HARD should be at least the same capacity (or slightly more is okay) as the original drive - mounting a drive smaller than the original often causes risks with recovery media.

The player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.

750 GB hard drive for laptop.

If necessary, the procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 47 of your maintenance & Service Guide.
