3750 g reconfig

Can someone explain how a 3750g which has been configured to use a radius server for authentication of access (to reconfig)?

Just, we have installed a new battery and use the switches for other tasks. He continues to show the RADIUS as answers don't not, but as being scarred for life. Thank you.

Chris

It seems that you are looking for how to do the recovery password on the switch so that you can ignore the existing configuration. Can you confirm that this is what you're looking for?

  • Newbie connection DELL 6248 pile to pile of CISCO 3750

    Hi all

I need to extend the desktop LAN by connecting a battery of CISCO 3750 existing a new pile of DELL 6248.

I intend to use the fiber/combo harbour in DELL 6248 to connect to the CISCO uplink port.

I want to use DELL port 48 but I saw there was 1/g48 and 1/xg48.  From memory, they are mutually exclusive.

Q1.  That means I'll just set up 1/g48 and do not enter the config of 1/xg48 of the sentence?

Q2.  To connect together the 2 batteries, devrais I defined just two ports to connect as a trunk port?  I have no experience in doing so.  FOR INFO.  We already use VLAN in piles CISCO and so the new DELL batteries must know about it.

Any help will be very appreciated!

Combo ports have a combined input and output of the PHY chip. Only the optical port or RJ-45 port can be used individually, but not at the same time. Any cable is connected will first use the port PHY. If the Ethernet port is used, you will configure with 1/g48, if fiber port is used then set up uses 1 / x 48.

Yes, you are right, a network connection is what you want between the two battery. Commands on the switch PowerConnect looks like this.

    Console > activate

    Console # config

Console (config) # interface ethernet 1/g48

    console switchport mode trunk #.

console # permit trunk switchport vlan add 2,3,4,5

On the PowerConnect 62xx switches, you must use general mode if you want to allow traffic from management on the switch on the PVID.  If you use the Trunk mode, you will not have the default VLAN on these ports.  The ports will only allow labeled traffic. So if the Trunk mode does not you, then switch to general mode.

As the pile of Cisco has already VLAN on it, we must ensure to the PowerConnect switch has those same VLAN. Here is an example of creating a VLAN on the PowerConnect switch.

    Console > activate

    Console # config

    Console (config) # vlan database

    VLAN console(config-VLAN) # 2

    output console(config-VLAN) #.

Console (config) # interface vlan 2

    Console # name Marketing

    Console # end

Another thing you may perform is place a static route to help the traffic at the back of the battery.

    IP route {network} {mask with joker} {Next Hop-IP}

    Console # config

    Console (config) # ip route 172.16.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.0.0.2

    Console (config) # end

    I hope this info helps,

    Thank you.

  • Redirect WCCP and Performance hit on 3750

Maybe it's more of a "resizing" qtn more than anything else.

Yesterday, I activated wccp redirect on a stack of distribution has collapsed/3750 of base, in an office with 150users. WAI is model 612.

As soon as the configuration of the redirect has been applied, I found the network slowing significantly and received an event alert CPU of NEM, reports that CPU on 3750 stack exceeds the set threshold (65%). Put the threshold on the one hand, the cli is terribly slow and so I removed immediately redirect to the relevant interfaces. He bought the network back to normal in terms of performance.

Is this a calibration problem or maybe a bad configuration or something else...?

Here is a list of best practices to follow to do forwarding of wccp on hardware platforms such as the 3750.  I found it in the link below.

    http://www.Cisco.com/Web/services/news/ts_newsletter/tech/ChalkTalk/archives/200806.html

The following best practices should be applied to the implementation of WCCP on a hardware platform:

    • L2 transfer
    • Assignment of mask
    • Interception of incoming traffic
    • No ' exclude ip wccp redirect in.

Your configuration "output method negotiated return of interception-method wccp" will appeal to a WCCP GRE tunnel to create of the 3750 to CAI.  All traffic will be then be redirected a software based on this configuration line.

"Game of negotiated return as the method of evacuation. With this specification, the Cisco WAE uses GRE to return traffic redirected to the router intercepting. Note: in this case, WCCP negotiated WCCP GRE return method. »

    Found here: https://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/contnetw/ps5680/ps6870/prod_white_paper0900aecd806d976a_ps6474_Products_White_Paper.html

I'd stick to best practices that Zach has described in the link at the beginning of this post.  It's a very well written on the WCCP redirect article.

  • CBWFQ on Catalyst 3750 Switch

Cisco switch Catalyst 3750 does support QoS CBWFQ?

I would understand if the catalyst IOS supports control of bandwidth to a class and offer a minimum bandwidth in a situation of congestion. I have a few applications that need to increase its flow when other classes use their bandwidth. On my 3750 I don't see bandwidth control.

    Thank you very much.

  • Issue of QoS Catalyst 3750

    Hello

I have a scan server (IP = 1.2.3.4 for this example) who wreaks havoc when it works, which is evident in the number of drops of output I see.  I thought the police thing, but it is a production environment and 3750-G switch does not support Netflow or any other tool that would provide accurate estimates of flow to work from.

So, my thoughts are rather to implement queuing for the scan server and limit his access to common buffers, etc..  I would like to have some feedback on the config.  (I've included notes in an attempt to illustrate my thought.)

Well, then you're a little stuck trying to manage the flow of this server.  Unless you want to look at the penetration of the port police server and/or to "shape" the output port.  The idea being, if you can slow down the movement of this server, you might avoid configuration QoS requirements.

Otherwise, you're on the right track, in what you're trying to do.

You may want to traffic of tag to this server as 'trap' (CS1).  Ideally, you may be able to distinguish the traffic 'scan' of other traffic to and from this server.

On treatment of output of your QoS policy, rather than create a 'special' configuration to handle this traffic, you should consider having a policy that has a low priority class (scavenger), which is where direct you this traffic.  That is a policy of 4 class that takes in charge in time real (PQ), foreground (twice in 10 x % of the default value), by default and the background (1%), planning priorities.

3750 of buffer management, I found the setting of thresholds all up and moving more if not all buffers to the pool, usually works quite well.

    I've recently updated firmware in a Cisco C3750X-24 p-S: replaced c3750e-universalk9 - mz.122 - 55.SE3.bin with a c3750e-universalk9 - mz.152 - 1.E.bin.

Command Show boot confirmed that the switch had a boot appropriate pointing to an existing firmware file configuration.

Suspecting that the new firmware file was damaged, I decided to copy it again. Unfortunatelly the network is not uvailable even after setting all vatiables environment as IP_ADDR etc. When an active device was connected to the ports, there is no light on the same network ports. I decided to copy the firmware via XModem - 1 K. Unfortunately, the process has failed (the switch has been operated and when). Now, the switch would not start at all. I tried the following procedure to enter ROMMON:

    Unplug the power cord.

Hold the MODE button while you reconnect the power cable from the switch.

The MODE button is on the left side of the front panel.

Release the MODE button after the LED above Port 1 x turns off.

Note: The LED position can vary slightly, depending on the model.

You are now on the switch: command prompt.

However Port1 nor any other port comes on or off during the power on procedure: all network ports are empty all the time. Immediately after powing on the switch, SYSTEM light starts flashing green/Orange for about 20 seconds, then turns off for half a second and then starts flashing with green alone indefinitely. As he "boots", some random characters appear in the console. Is it possible to boot into ROMMON mode now?

You may need to check that someone else has not set speed console X 3750 to some other settings.

If you have checked all the settings and you can't do anything, then RMA unit.  You should still be able to get coverage out of it.

  • Problem module (C3KX-NM-10GT) 10GB - T on the stack of 3750

I bought a two port 10 GB-T network port module (C3KX-NM-10GT) for my stack of switch 3750-X (4 in the stack). After having powered the entire stack, connect the module, re - all powered. When I run a 'sh ip int bri"I see not two, but eight 10 GB ports. Two for each switch of the battery. Not only that, but when I try to plug something in the module it still shows the State (notconnect).

I tried checking the IOS version to recommend, but the only documentation that I could find was on the module (C3KX-NM - 10G), ( http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/interfaces_modules/transceiver_modu... ). This shows a version of the IOS 12.2 (53) SE. I have 12.2 (58) TO so this should be good?

Is this a problem with the incompatibility of IOS or some other problem with the stack of the switch? Nobody knows the version of IOS recommended for this module?

    Go HERE.

Shows documentation you need, a minimum of 15.0 (1) SE.  Personally, I would recommend you stay away from this version and go directly to 15.0 (2) SE4.

Be aware of an IOS 12.2 (58) upgrade SE to everything the 15.X will also include an upgrade mandatory bootstrap (aka firmware).  All-in-all, it takes about 25 minutes to upgrade.  So don't be scared or ground-your-pants.  Make sure that you have for a timeout of 45 minutes.

  • Uprading IPbase to IPservices license on 3750 x battery

    Hello

I need license 'IPservices' on the stack of X 3750. I used the commands below

3750-sw01 (config) #license boot ipservices level 1 switch

3750-sw01 (config) #license boot ipservices level 2 switch

When I do a 'sh worm"I can see only the switch 1 said ' then reload license level: ipservices", not the switch 2. 2 switch specifies "next boot level license: ipbase.

When I session from 2, I can't switch mode config t to enter the commands above. I'm not sure why t config mode fails.

    3750 sw01-2 #conf t
    ^
Invalid entry % detected at ' ^' marker.

    Thank you

    Nachi

On the second switch in 'Index 2', you will see that the EULA is not accepted, which means that the trial license for intellectual property services is not yet activated. Only when this is allowed, the show version would say that its next reboot ipservices will be selected.

  • [3750 x] switch was able to start on the new image

    Hello

I have updated the firmware of my switches 3750 x (19 switches in the Group 8 battery) with the new version. But 2 switches with a stack of 3 cannot take the last version. They are the same model, I do not understand why they cannot start on the new image.

    New version: 15.0 (2) SE7

    Old version: 12.2 (58) SE2

    Switches information

    17 switches that works

    WS-C3750X-24 15.0 (2) SE7 C3750E-UNIVERSALK9-M

Revision number of the model: A0
    Motherboard revision number: A0
    Model number: WS-C3750X-24 t-S

Of the 2Switches that does not work

    WS-C3750X-24 12.2 SE2 (58) C3750E-UNIVERSALK9-M

Revision number of the model: A0
    Motherboard revision number: C0
    Model number: WS-C3750X-24 t-S

It's the only different, I found between the 2 switches with all other switches,

    Loading images

In step 1 it load the image, but it will not start and in the end, it loads the old image and boot top.

    Loading ' flash: c3750e-universalk9 - mz.150 - 2.SE7.bin "... @.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

    @@@@@@@@@@...

    File "flash: c3750e-universalk9 - mz.150 - 2.SE7.bin ' unzipped and installed, point of entry: 0 x 3000
    execution of...

    "Loading Flash:/c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-58.SE2.bin"...@@@ ".

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

    @@@@@@@@@@...

The switch that has the latest version can not see the other 2 stacks. At the moment the only solution I found is the downgrade of the switch with version 15.

    Kind regards

The latest version that starts with success on this device is 15.0 (1) SE3

The 15.0 (2) * or 15.2. * the images do not start and lead the suspended device during the @ as stated above.

So, it seems than Cisco already broken that in 2012. I almost can't believe it.

  • 3750 config registry 0XF

    Hello

what the purpose of having the registry set to 0xf in the 3750?

I have a situation where he his bootstrap start-up and I think that it is the cause each time.

Anyone know the reason behind this and if I shoulod it value 0 x 2?

    Thank you

    Hello Jafar,

As Joe pointed out quite rightly, the value 0xF is a correct configuration register value to a switch. In fact, I saw not a switch 29 x 0 or 3xx0 having a different configuration register value and I even feel that the entire configuration registry is there just to allow the common IOS code base and it is completely ignored.

Please, if possible, post here the transcript of progression starting from this switch. We might be able to help you.

    Best regards

    Peter

  • 3750 x 3750 x hardware encryption

    Hello

I have a WAN link operating at 10 GB via the fiber on my 3750 X Module.

Each datacenter has 3750 1 x button, with 10 GB WAN battery, connection between 2 data centers.

I want to encrypt the WAN connection, but I want to use the hardware encryption.

Is this possible, and what module do I need to buy?

    Thank you...
