  I worked on a plugin for Lightroom, developed on LR 5.6, using the SDK 5

  I'm at the point I would compile the plugin for the distribution and asks the voice of experience:

  (a) what version of the compiler to use LUA. 5.1.4 I saw mentioned in various places, but do not know if it is "new".

  (b) switches/configurations, I need for maximum compatibility between both OSX and Win. Provide an update file (for all) seems best for me, if possible.

  (c) any ways to maximize compatibility with older versions of LR. Obviously preferable to focus on current versions, but if it's simple enough to include older versions so why not not.

  (d) any other experiences to avoid!

  I used 32-bit "LUAC/Luhe"5.1.4 for LR 3-6, first on Windows 7 than OS X without problem.  I can't remember where I got it from.

  No switch; a typical call looks like:

  LUAC/LUHE o anyfilter.lrplugin/AnyFilter.lua AnyFilter.lua

  However, since Adobe replaced their 'classic' with the Add-ons site Exchange, I don't know anyone here who has successfully published a true LR plugin (as opposed to presets beams) and made easy for users to download and install. You can find the experience of others in discussions in this forum.  Almost all of the widely used plugins my knowledge to avoid the Add-ons site. But if you try it and it works, thanks for posting your experience and your recipe here.

• My default download folder is on my server at work, so when I'm at home the download window does not open and I can't change my settings to download.

  I tried to reset my default download folder, but it just goes back in the download folder on my server to work that I won't be able to connect to the next month. When I try to select a different download folder, does not have the button "Browse".   1. Click Start-> Run-> typeregedit and enter
  2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ Microsoft\ Internet Explorer

  4. Now in the window channel enter the path, where you want to save the files by default.
  5. Click theOK button.
  6. Restart the computer.

  Ininternet explore 9 beta , you can change the default location.

  Here's how:

  a. open internet explorer 9.

  b. click onTools , then select view downloads.

  c. downloads for window, clickOptions.

  d. now, enter the default download location and click on the OK button.

  Hey there,

  Go to desktop mode and open internet explore. Contact / click the icon 'speed' in the upper right corner, touch / click on "view downloads," then, in the lower right window which arises just should be the word "Options" in blue. Touch / click on "options" and another window will open where you can modify the default download location.

  If you'd like, read what I ask before posting a general answer. I am an MCP, I am comfortable with Windows, but it had to search me for two days now and I'm at my wits end. Thank you.

  Would someone kindly tell me how to recover the real default download folder?
  I know I can just create a new folder and call it download but not what I'm looking for. If you look at your own default download folder, if you go to properties, you will see FIVE tabs appointed general, sharing, security, location and customization. This is the case, I'm recovering. (Same as your folders my pictures or my videos.)

  Hello again everyone. I didn't leave this "case" open and I wanted to share what I found out. It is more simple that none of us thought.

  When I did my old default folder to a new location on an external hard drive (using the tab location, we talked about earlier) it changes the structure of the files of the folder left in the old directory. This is why I didn't see the location tab.
  When I went to my external hard drive (g) there was my default folder. Actually a little bit because I had done that to my music, My Documents, my videos. You get the point. So if I right click on the folder THERE, then I get the location tab so I could bring it back to C:\ or elsewhere.
  Let me know if you understand. I can get some screenshots if necessary. Just in case someone else runs into the same problem at a later date.

  5 Lightroom do not download book or pdf on the presentation text.  It seems to go in and then it says cannot make photo.  They are not always the same photos with this message.  Am so frustrated.

  I suggest make you a copy of the book "Saved" in the Panel collections (right click > duplicate) as a backup. Experiment with the duplicate.

  I read on several things that cause similar problems-

  Photos that are "missing" in the catalog, [!]

  Unusual characters in filenames image [as $% ^ &, even spaces]

  Rare or problems fonts text. Too many different fonts used. (Edit > select all cells of text [Ctrl + Alt + A] and handed over to a joint police)

  Question mark on these files means that you must be moved/renamed/deleted files on your hard drive where they were originally.

  When you import an image in Lightroom, it does not matter the original copy of the image instead it saves to the original location when you import or where you copy the image using Lightroom and it always refers to this place.

  So if you want to move or rename these images, you should do it in Lightroom instead of outside of Lightroom.

  Now, if you know the current location of these images on your hard drive, you must move them into Lightroom.

  Step 1

  Find your file and right click (Alt - click) the icon. This will bring you a menu with a number of actions in this regard. Click info

  Select Get Info

  You will be presented with a window that looks like the image below. Here all the information on the file that you selected, including its location on the Mac, the size of it and much more. What interests me is the section in the red zone.

  

  The Open with: section shows the current application that this type of file opens with, and clicking it it shows a drop-down list that hosts the application different types you can choose. Click on it to reveal the menu drop-down

  You will be now be presented with something similar to the image above - a list of applications that can open this type of file. Select the one that you want to be the new default application.

  Tip: If your application is not in this list, you can select other at the bottom of the list to navigate through all of your applications on your Mac
