Update hang-up
Whenever I turned off my laptop, it wants to install an update. This happened for several weeks; so I don't think it's a new update.
Is it possible to go where this update stored, delete it and leave it again downloaded?
I don't know if this is an update of XP or IE8 (7) or Office 2007.
I don't get all the messages that the update failed or error codes.
Thanks for any help.

Win 7 Pro 64 install, after good connection install & internet Microsoft Update hangs forever
A failed hdd on HP 6515 b required new hdd & install Win 7 Pro 64. After the proper installation & connection internet Microsoft Update hangs forever. Otherwise the computer works fine. We need .net updated for special application.
Unfortunately, this happens to a lot of people lately.
Windows Update problem (new)
The following procedure applies in the case of installation (reinstall) Windows 7. It does not apply to a usual, normal day.
I'm afraid that you will do the reinstall again. Not a terrible penalty to pay. Usually takes less than an hour. Then immediately proceed to the next procedure. It's strange, but it really does work and many people have proved it.
NEVER install anything other than Windows updates until your system is up-to-date. Once you have the list update, install all together. Installation of updates in batches is not expedite the process or do better.
- Before you begin to re - install, download (32 or 64 bit) KB3083710 and KB3102810 in advance and store on a USB
- Start and end the re - install Windows 7 SP1
- Before that the newly installed system can go online for the first time, Disconnect the computer from the Internet. This chronology is essential.
- Install KB3083710 and reboot manually.
- Install KB3102810 and reboot manually.
- Restore the Internet connection, and run Windows Update as usual.
- After a few minutes, you should have a lot of updates to download and install.

Firefox 38 update hangs during the rsyslog config on LinuxMint 17.1 cinnamon?
Hello
I used LinuxMint Update Manager to update the packages as usual.
Firefox presents itself as an update, so I took that too far.
In the middle of the installation while it configures rsyslog, it hangs after the display of "syslog user already a member of adm.
He remained there until I disconnected and restarted hoping that should clear up the shot.
Now, any use of apt dpkg or apt - get comes up with an error message saying to run ' dpkg--configure - a "which I did and ends up in the same time.
Help? Caesar.

Hello world
Yesterday in the middle of the workday restarted my computer and I lost a program I worked (I already coded again). I think it might be automatic update of Windows. Then, after that, I tried to wear this dialogue and set my settings to manually install updates.
However, whenever I try to bring up this dialog box and do something, it hangs and I have to kill it using Task Manager.
Do you know what should I do? It would be rather some viruses? I use MS Essentials as my anvivirus program. Recently, I did a manual scan and it found 3 (deleted) Trojan. I don't know how they are in first place.
In any case, do you know what I would do in this situation?
Appreciate your suggestions in advance. Premature optimization is the root of all evil in programming. (c) by Donald Knuth

Activation of Windows and Windows Update hang in Windows XP that is running under VirtualBox
I want to set up a Windows XP VM on my 32-bit Windows 8 so that I can run the original Myst game.
I own a legitimate copy of Windows XP (original packaging, CD, product key etc.) which is not in use (i.e. enabled) on any physical or virtual hardware.
I use VirtualBox to host the since Hyper-V virtual machine is not supported on 32-bit Windows 8 (sigh).
Installation proceeded like a charm, but I can't activate XP (hangs at 'check' connectivity) or can I install updates WU/MU (hangs "checking for updates... » ; I manually installed the SP3 JIC).

Bootcamp for Windows 10 update hangs on the Logo
Hi all!
I am trying to install a functional copy of Windows 10 in Bootcamp on my Mac Mini. The problem is that when I try to upgrade Windows 8.1, it hangs of process to her halfway through to Windows logo through the process and did not move for days. I tried three times.
I would like to do a fresh install, except that I need to boot from Windows 8.1 so it will recognize my key (upgrade through https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/accessibility/windows10upgrade)
OSX has been anything to date before starting the process. Any idea what I can do to prevent this?
Thank you!

Shipwrecked is nerves: after standing 10.11.4, update hangs
Dear all,
I really, really need your help right now. I'm typing this on my iPad Pro, because my Mac crashes.
Data sheet:
MBP 15 "mid-2014 retina, OSX 11.4 El Capitan
Since the update
Safari is not yet launch (icon spends little time, and then exits).
iTunes crashes every time that - except when I disconnect my Wifi,
Mac App Store, but it does not connect to the store.
iBooks will only display all the books in the cloud,
iCloud is not connecting etc etc.
OSX won't let me even install anything (Tech Tool Pro, 10.11.4 Combo Update, update of iTunes). Everytime I try, it closes.
Before you can update everything went well, I have absolutely no problems.
What I've tried so far:
Rebooted a million times, disconnect all hard drives.
Rebooted and performed equipment tests, because I thought I might have a RAM problem - no error.
Restored to iTunes through Time Machine - works, as long as I don't connect to internet via Wifi. After that: Crash, reboot, no library etc.
Tried to re - install the update - it won't let me.
Checked drives - no errors.
Removed a lot of iTunes plists and stuff.
Problems with Wifi, I have a slight feeling that it might have something to do with permissions or the key - but I'm not sure.
I'yve got a calendar to match and I'm in serious trouble.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Best,
Oliver
Why don't you just restart from your recovery partition, then reinstall El Capitan?
