5.2 Installation Lightroom does not recognize. MSI file
I tried several times to install the Lightroom update 5.2, but every time it starts installing it gives me an error and tells me to locate the file with the .msi file for the installation. Now, the self-extracting installer shows that he extracted the file msi, but when I look for and click on Installer tells me that this is not the appropriate Setup file. Has anyone who encountered this as well and, if so, what solutions have you found to work around?
I finally managed to uninstall the old version of LR and to install the new version 5.2, respectively, as follows:
-J' downloaded fixit from Microsoft support page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971187
(the link shows the German translation, but I guess that Microsoft fixit software will work in different languages, or there must be the equivalent page in English too, I guess)
-J' ran the fixit program. Verification of Installation did not help. Checking uninstall, I chose 5 Lightroom (previous version) has helped, the program was now finally uninstalled.
-J' restarted the PC
-J' started the downloaded file in Lightroom to version 5.2. This time, the installation worked correctly.
Hope that helps also to others.

Lightroom does not recognize jpg files
I use Lightroom CC 2015.1 Release
I created a new catalog specifically for my new camera, a Sony RX100M4. I know the format RAW of the M4 is not yet supported, but I'm shooting RAW + JPG. I use the Sony PlayMemories software to import photos to a folder on my hard drive, then import photos from my hard drive in the Lightroom Catalog. The pictures are separated into folders by date. Initially, I tried selecting the main RX100M4 import the folder and selecting "Include subfolders", but after verification by the imported photos a lot were missing. So next I tried select folder to a particular date, and I realized that Lightroom does not even see the jpg files. If you see the picture, you can clearly see that on my hard drive there are 8 files in this folder, the FIRST 4 and 4 jpg. Lightroom is only to see the RAW files. Does anyone know a fix for this? Maybe I am doing something wrong.
Thank you!
Lightroom knows there is. ARW files in the folder but cannot import or even show previews; I don't mind not even display jpg files because you ignore the jpgs beside RAW photos. https://helpx.Adobe.com/Lightroom/help/file-import-formats-settings.html
Furthermore, I don't think that you need a separate catalog for these photos, I think a single catalog for all the photos is a better solution (and less work) and the photos of this new camera can be easily separated if you wish.

Lightroom does not recognize cr2 files or any type of RAW files
I ve used Lightroom for years to import and manage my - images raw and never had a problem until a few weeks ago. Now I can only import JPEG files to Lightroom. When I try to import files from other file types simply go gray and I can´t select them. Se the screenshot below, it is the case with all types of RAW files. I have a Canon 60 d and a Sony A5000.
This is the culprit:
and here:
Looking at all the images but allows only new import. Look at only the nine. LR is good enough to detect the photos that are in the database and do not need to import again. But you can do it by unchecking the mark near "will be important...". »

Lightroom does not recognize the RAW of D750 files?
Photoshop has updated the RAW files from the Nikon D750 recognition. Lightroom does not recognize these files. How can I get the update of LIghtroom?
You will have to wait for the release of Lightroom 5.7. Has not been published, and no release date is announced. Is there a DNG converter 8.7 RC that you could use to create DNG copies that work with the Lightroom you have now. A temporary solution to a temporary problem.

Win 7 does not recognize the file type for the installation of the theme.
Original title: download and install desktop theme
I would like to install the panoramic snow theme but shows like PanoramicSnow.deskthemepack file extension. Win7 does not recognize the file type for the installation due to the addition of the "office" in the extension. would it be possible to have that corrected please? Thank you!
Hello PMacCk,
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.Basically, the .deskthemepack extension is not recognized by Windows 7 because it is introduced in Windows 8. The new "panoramic" desktop themes all use this format. For reference, please see:There are still regularly .themepack themes available and those who continue to work in Windows 7 and Windows 8. Please visit the following link to download and install the themes:ThemesHope this information is useful. -
Lightroom does not recognize any of my file types [DNG / JPEG etc] and is unable to import? any ideas for a fix?
It's impossible. LR is a non-destructive editor and photo management. For her to not see images of the files would make it one of the worst of these programs tyupes.
So there is a parameter that you have screwed up in the import dialog window that prevents your DNG, TIFF, JPG, PSD, PNG, CMYK and film formats appear in the import window.
So show us a screenshot of your import window.
More than likely you have chosen a destination that has all the permissions read/write to your username.

I tried to use the uSB cable, but Lightroom does not recognize the camera. My memory card has no images on it that I read somewhere that it can slow things down if she has no images on it
If you use Lightroom CC / 6 on a Mac OSX El Capitan you must update to the latest version of CC 2015.4 / 6.4. Problems with Nikon capture home has been fixed in the latest update, the lis below.

I just bought the edition student pro Adobe Acrobat XI from amazon. The installation wizard does not recognize my valid serial number. I entered it with and without a hyphen. What should I do?

6 LightRoom does not recognize my Nikon D700 DSLR. I have connected the PC to my DSLR using Windows 10. I entered the program 6 of Lightroom and selected "file/Tether Capture / captive Start Capture." He then says "No Camera detected"
I think I have the right cable attached. It is a 5 Pin mini-cable USB 2.
The mini USB camera works, I think. I uploaded photos from the D700 to my computer before.
When I connect and disconnect the tie between my laptop and the D700, computer one problems
sound of Bell saying he acknowledged a connection to the laptop device.
What could be wrong?
Thank you!
Len.
Hello
Please upgrade to the latest version of Lightroom, and the question to tie with El Capitan will be resolved: keeping up-to-date for Lightroom

6 Lightroom does not recognize the raw files of Nikon D800
I have a nikon D800 and Lightroom does not recognize the raw files yet of this camera. I've updated the LR software to 6.1.1 yet still cannot import files.
Can you help me
Thank you
Ruben
The D800 has been supported since Lightroom 4.1.
You use an earlier version of the Nikon software to transfer files from camera to computer? Older versions are known to make Raw files unreadable by Adobe software.
Try to download a version update of Nikon. Or use a different card for example reader method.

I bought a Nikon D7100. Lightroom does not recognize the Nef Raw files what I am doing wrong?
Thank you for your response. I solved the problem by simply importing the
images using windows rather than the Nikon transfer.

I've been using excel (Office: mac 2011) for some time. All of a sudden excel opens. I'm getting different error messages such as: "Excel does not recognize this file format" and "There is a problem with the database of the Office". I use OS X EL Capitan 10.11.3 version with my iMac. I tried to uninstall Office: mac & reinstall it with the disk. He re - installs OK but won't open without error message... The rest of the Apps, for example. "Word, Powerpoint open OK. 5 LR does not recognize RAW files
So I don't use LR 5 no problem for 6 months and you have imported Sony, Fuji and Canon RAW files without problem.Today it does not recognize RAW files more. View the new photos in the library module, I see "Preview not available for this file.
Then, when I try to import "this file is not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom.
I have the latest version (5.7.1) and it is CR2 (Canon RAW), I'm trying to import from a 760D which is apparently supported
I'm on a PC, Windows 8
Hi mudmonkey5,
Canon D 760 support has been added in Lightroom 6.0 and I think that's the reason of not being able to import images into Lightroom 5.7.1
You can see this article which States you need to version 6.0 of Lightroom and Camera Raw 9.0 for these raw files: supported by Camera Raw devices
Or, you can use the free DNG Converter to convert the images in DNG and then, how to import them into Lightroom 5.
