Webcam spontaneously disconnected

I had just used my built in webcam a few days ago. My computer has decided that it is an "unknown" device and when I try to put in place the status of the device, it reads "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) ». Then when I try to go to the driver and to this day, he, it says that the device is updated. When I try to test the webcam, the programs say it is 'not found. The webcam is in use by another program or disconnected. Please click the CONNECT button and try again. "If I click the button connect... it says the same thing and adds... "Make sure that the webcam is connected and working properly, and then try again." So I'm trying to find a way to reconnect to the webcam, and I get the evasive. So I try the settings and try to refresh the device. I tried to restore the program. I'm trying everything and not getting anywhere... Help!

  • Portege R500 spontaneously disconnects without user input

My Toshiba Portege R500 has a strange problem where it switches off spontaneously without any intervention from the user. This has happened for about 2 weeks in the property and occurs one or two times a day.

There is no consistency when no why it happens. The machine can be slowed down, or I can run a variety of software. There is no consistency in the software that I have running when this happens. Suddenly, the machine will display dialog box of "logging off" of Windows XP, then start disconnecting. It happens to 'Save settings' scene and then crashes. I then have to force power off and restart the machine. This occurs regardless whether the machine is running off the battery or sector power.

Appears not to heat related, as I expect heat related problems to simply turn the machine off, not actually go through the procedure of disconnecting. There is nothing in Event Viewer, and it seems not related to a particular software. I tried to recreate my local profile and the problem persists.

My technical department said that Toshiba support will not resemble this problem unless we try a complete regeneration of the machine first. I think it's a little extreme and would they looked like rather to solve the problem instead of just wipe everything and re - install Windows XP.

If anyone has experienced this? Any ideas of what could be the cause?

    Thank you
    Derek

    Hello Derek

Windows XP Home edition is your own installation or you got the Windows XP Home edition recovery media?

To be honest for this kind of problems is really not easy to find an answer and find no logical explanation can take hours of the investigation. If your case is an isolated case, I don't see any sense to spend so much time and because of that, I can understand the support guys.

The fact is that Toshiba has to ensure that this recovery image works well. And because of this, they say: do the new installation of Windows XP Home edition and see if the problem persists. At this time where you make the changes on the preinstalled operating system and install a software not supported there is a new situation and it is not easy to simply provide a response to each strange question.

I'm really interested if someone else will report on the same problem.

    Hello

If you use Norton, AVG, Avira, Microsoft Security Essentials, McAfee, etc. the default action is for Windows Defender must be disabled, that these AntiVirus programs have their own Antispyware Applications.

    There is nothing to worry.

Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.

If you are using one of the above AntiVirus programs, this Information from David O - Support Engineer shows you how to manually enable Windows Defender (disregard information from uninstalling; not possible in Vista):

  • VPN disconnects spontaneously - sometimes

I set up a VPN between two Windows XP systems on two different networks, using the built-in VPN connection from XP. In most cases, the connection remains active without problem. However, on occasion, the VPN disconnects for no apparent reason. I checked the event viewer on the systems of the host and the client. The host system has no events listed in the newspapers of the Application or the system at the time when the disconnection occurred. On the client computer, the only event is an informational message in the system log: "the connection to the made by user VPNUser using VPN3-1 device has been disconnected.", the event ID is 20159. This does not really have any useful information about what happened to cause the disconnection. Are there any troubleshooting tools that I can put in place either on the host or client which may provide additional information on what causes these parasites, apparently spontaneous disconnects? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

A guess: this could be caused by an MTU setting that is set too high.  The maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) is usually around 1 500 bytes and includes the headers of the packets.  VPN adds additional header bytes, and if you use DSL it can be even more added bytes.  The connection works well as long as packets are exchanged, but if you start a transaction requiring large packages, you can go beyond one can suffer from the limit and the speed or the connection may be removed.  A conservative MTU when using VPN is 1300.

    See this article:

  • Why does my Net connection disappear spontaneously?

Recently, I had a problem where very well work my connection to the Internet, then all of a sudden he disappeared. The browser (any browser) gives me messages about being unable to find the server. Remedies, I tried:

    1. by using the option "Repair" of the system tray icon that accesses my Internet connection. Repair always freezes during the disconnection. Furthermore, the option 'Status' says my connection is excellent, but it's probably just between my wireless adapter and the AT & T wi - fi antenna.
    2. unplug the AT & T wi - fi antenna power, wait 30 seconds and in him plugging back in. This is one of the AT & T recommended methods of troubleshooting. Does not work for me.

Here's what works, and the reason I think that the problem is in my PC and not with AT & T DSL service. If I use the power button before on my tower to completely power off, wait a few seconds, then starts upward, the problem is solved. What hassle.  Oh, the reason why I do not use start > Shutdown is that it has also stopped working. He goes as far as a blue screen and just hangs there.

For reference, I try to keep my tidy HD. Enough free space, regular defrag, all Microsoft updates, run the tool to check disk with the fix option activated, etc..

Here are the 12 entries of observer of events leading up to the last spontaneous disconnect from the Internet. I doubt it is useful, because the disconnection occurred at about 09:30, much later than the last recorded event.

I am a new user.  I love my Blackberry 8330.

However, yesterday I came across a problem where the 8330 disconnects constantly in the middle of operations with the Desktop Manager.  He does not often occur in one place.  I got several error types: connector specific error 0X80040fb3, cannot synchronize, etc.  Spontaneous disconnects are not confined to the calendar, tasks, or address book - it happened during all these and sometimes before it had even begun to synchronize.  I pulled the battery once.  It synced well after that just to have the same problems the next day.

This happens in the middle of other operations using the Desktop Manager as well.  As the backup files.  It will shut off in the middle of one of the backup files, or will only stay connected long enough to a backup file.

In all this, the computer recognizes the blackberry as connected and the blackberry continues to display the "connect to the computer.

The Start Menu and taskbar will often hang or disappear after that the Desktop Manager ceases to recognize the Blackberry and then the Blackberry is always connected.  Once the Blackberry is disconnected, the start menu and taskbar is released from the hanging or reappears.

I installed Windows 7 in my Dell 15R 5520 (ubuntu version). Downloaded drivers from dell website. All of them are working fine but still i cant find any driver for its Webcam.I tried Dell Webcam Central but Camera isn't working. Moreover i can't see Imaging Devices in my Device Manager. Please Help!!

    Hi all

There is no need for the service number or any warranty claim. You don't need that it should be considered by another person.

The problem is the cable from the webcam which is a bit short in length. Whenever there is a Jolt in the treatment of the laptop, webcam connection disconnects, and you won't see webcam in imaging devices. There is no driver for webcam. Just install central site webcam Dell Web is sufficient.

The following procedure solved my problem.

You just need to remove the border covering the top of the screen and connect the white switch (between microphone and webcam). It will automatically detect the webcam and the microphone. No need to stop your laptop. You can do it when you want. Avoid closing and opening the top cover to the center of the screen as it releases the connection and you need to repeat the steps above.

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=TuEkjKa3B1M

To remove the cover, get help from this video.

03:00-03:30 (just remove the covering from the top. Replace the connection & no need to remove all of it.)

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • PC running XP will lose internet connection after inactivity

I leave my PC on 24 hours two days a week because of an automatic backup. C a day, drive D the next. Twice recently, I came home and found my connection Internet is down in itself. Any other apps turned at the time when that happened. Using the tool to disconnect, then reconnect it did not work. Restart caused the PC to hang during startup, just after that I see the screen that gives me an option on what kind of shoe I want and the blue screen is the background of the Windows login box. I get to the blue screen and that's it. Have to completely stop the PC and then the boot works as well as the automatic connection to the Internet. Here's what I found in the event viewer that wasn't a standard briefing note, but I do not know how to interpret the messages...

    * original title - why have I received a spontaneous disconnect from the Internet? *

Never forget the wizard, get the serial number and the model of the adapter and go to the web site of the manufacturer and get the latest drivers from them and only them!

You have the latest Service Pack (SP3) installed on the computers?

Even if this error occurs the service DHCP should continue to try to obtain an IP address lease extension until he succeeds, but on your address machines automatic private IP kicks in and you get an APIPA address (evidenced by the address assigned/obtained in the 169.254.xxx.xxx range).  Disable AUTOMATIC private IP addressing and see if things improve.

    Hello

    > On the other hand there is a notice from Windows telling me that there is an unknown USB device (Port_ #0001.Hub_ #0002) which I suppose is the camera

Yes, it could be the internal webcam.
Seems that the driver has not been installed correctly.
What to say; first remove the old webcam software from the system.
Then clean the operating system using a tool like CCLeaner, for example.
After that, go into Device Manager and remove the unknown device.
    Restart the unit.
Reinstall the webcam software and check if the device has been recognized again.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio X 500-12 q since its release and I have a problem: the webcam and fingerprint reader disconnects all the time, I'm always having to reboot to reconnect. It is particularly troubling for the webcam. I hope to find a solution to this problem...

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

When this happens exactly? Have you started several applications they need for example like Skype webcam?

Did you installed an additional firewall that blocks something on your computer?

Don t know why it happens, but you can also try an update of the driver for the Toshiba page:

  • HP Pavilion g6 - disconnected webcam / hand driver missing?

    Product name: HP Pavilion g6

    Product number: A3A09EA #ABU

    Dear HP support,

    My problem is as follows:

A day that I realized that I can't use my built in camera more. I tried reinstalling original preinstalled software Cyberlink Youcam, but as you might assume if it worked - I wouldn't be here. Then I tried according to HP troubleshooting guide. The problem is that there is no category called "Imaging devices" at all.

I can place two bets on what might actually happen:

    (a) I managed to remove the HP webcam 101 driver base. Is the exact name of the device: USB\VID_05C8 & PID_021E & MI_00

    (b) internal unit itself broke down (it has not disconnected issue of cord - made sure that myself)

I think I could try to install base driver for the camera, the problem is I can't find a / can't find a reliable source. Can you send me / download for me? How to proceed in this case, do you have any suggestions?

    Hey @RacA ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that the webcam no longer works on your laptop.

Make sure that when you are in Device Manager you are hidden display devices. (View > show hidden devices.) If the webcam is missing, it is possible that the Acquisition of Image Windows service is damaged or does not work. To ensure that this service is on a start-up automatic and non-disabled.

The CyberLink YouCam software only allows an extended webcam support and does not contain real pilots. Drivers are generic enough and come directly from Windows.

I suggest you restore the laptop to a time where he worked, and if it does not reinstall Windows before you replace the webcam. To restore or recover tap the F11 key, while the portable lights to access the HP Recovery Manager.

    Hope this helps!

  • After making a few changes in the setting of the webcam, webcam has been disconnected

    Original title: webcam...

I've been messing around with my settings. And he unplugged my web cam. He said plug it back in, but its construction? Help!

    Hello

Do a system restore, if necessary in Safe Mode, from before the problem.

    "In Windows 7 system restore:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/system-restore

'Advanced options boot (including safe mode).

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode#1TC=Windows-7

"The Advanced Boot Options screen lets you start Windows in advanced troubleshooting mode. You can access the menu by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key before starting Windows (press F8 at the rate of about once per second)"

    See you soon.

  • 4700: why my 4700 wireless disconnects spontaneously?

    Drakester;

    I have a c4780

I looked on a HP suport page and went through a few steps, including the verification of the Configuration of the network. Everything is OK.

What has worked so far for 72 hours, was to remove the printer in Sys Prefs and add it again.  Solution 7.

HP has a wide web page devoted to this question: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-photosmart-c4700-all-in-one-printer-serie s/3794613/document/c02790693 /

  • My internet keeps disconnecting but easily reconnects when I go in the diagnoses

For the past few weeks, I had a problem with my internet on my macbook pro (retina, 13 inches, end of 2013 and it runs El Capitan 10.11.5).) My internet is Time Warner Cable and my router is a motorola, arris (I don't have an airport)

Basically, my internet spontaneously does not work anymore (but is not completely disconnect from the network). I have to go to network preferences and then run diagnostics to reconnect, but still, it reconnects immediately after I run diagnostic tests and press 'always allow' keychain. Everything in the list network state is usually green except for the Internet and the server, who say failed and are red in color. ISP or settings network is sometimes as red.

It really happens randomly - sometimes all ten or fifteen minutes and sometimes every two hours.

I never have this issue when I use internet in my school and it happens at home, however, I don't think it's a problem with my internet service provider because my computer is the only device in my apartment which has faced this problem (my roommate also has a macbook pro and we all two iphones)

I rebooted my computer, reset the router a few times, talked to apple support, and nothing has helped.

I have a wireless diagnostic report when it happened last week I saved and can send if it would help (but I do not know how to reach it...)

    Thank you!
