5 GB of RAM to VMS in Win 2008 32-bit Ent?
Hi all
I'm about to buy some more RAM for my 32-bit server running VMware server 2.
It's 2008, Enterprise Edition, so if I understand correctly, I can give the server more than 4 GB of ram (5 GB in this case) and assign the most virtual machines, but can give no more than 2/3 gb for all virtual machines? VMware server seems to have a separate process for each virtual computer running so I guess I could have 4 servers with 1 GB each and left of 1 GB for the host?
Thank you
Yes, it should work very well because of the availability of EAP in win2k8 Enterprise. However, you can consider using VMware ESXi due to several advantages compared to Vmware Server as the best performance and most low-cost and fresh generals.
Kind regards

Hi, can you tell me if it is possible for a Server 2008 Standard 32-bit VM for more than 4 GB of RAM? I activated the EAP, but it made no difference. Is there something specific that needs to be done as is a virtual machine?
This is a Limitation of Windows

Problems with the dash invite you - 11.1.1.6 on Win 2008 64 bit
Hi, I'm just curious to know if anyone who is using the / tests 11.1.1.6 on a 64-bit environment Windows 2008 is problems with the dashboard of the guests.
I see the questions where the guests of dashboard are appearing with a NULL option - i.e. If a dimension has values A, B and C, I see the prompt appears as:
NULL VALUE
A
B
C
There are NO NULL values in the data, and I see that the related query returns only 3 rows. It feels like something is broken with 11.1.1.6, but just curious to know if other people see it.
BTW, this happens with all types of guests - check boxes, radio buttons, pick lists, etc. But strangely, it does not occur with the data of 'sound' - don't know if it's because it's from XML instead of the database?
THX,
ScottJust because I'm also curious.
In the physical column from the physical layer, the NULL checkbox is checked?
See you soon

NB550D - best way to install Win 7 64-bit and 64-bit drivers
Hello
I improved my NB550D to Windows7 Home Premium and installed 4 GB of RAM.
This works much better, but want to go further and make a Windows7 Ultimate _64bit_ _clean install_ in order to take full advantage of theupgrade in RAM.My question is: what should I do about the Toshiba drivers for 64-bit? I guess I'm going to need some?
What is the best way to go about the upgrade - any help will be appreciated! : D
If you need to switch to Win 7 64 bit, then you need some Win 7 64 bit drivers.
On the European driver Toshiba page, I could find some 64-bit drivers, but it seems that not all Toshiba for Win 7 64-bit tools are released.Drivers for WLan or BT stack can be found here:
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/Bluetooth/Other drivers or Toshiba tools such as value added package or Face Recognition, Eco utility and others could be used with other series of portable for example by Satellite C660D or others such as L750D, L755D or C670D
Surely you must pay attention to the integrated graphics chip, the LAN or the chipset
Use the drivers that are released for fleas in NB550D -
Satellite Pro S300-121: Installation of Win 7 64-bit: Yes or no
I have win7 32 bit on my Satellite Pro S300-121.
I have 4 GB of ram installed.
Should I install the 64 bit version, or I will not see any difference in speed?I know I have to do a clean install, but is it useful for S300-121 all pros and cons anyway, your thoughts
Hello
Your laptop has been equipped with 4 GB of RAM.
But Win 32 bit can handle only 3.2 GB. So this could be a key reason to switch to Win 7 64 bit OS because the 64-bit would recognize the full 4 GB of RAM.
But if you use programs and the software that is compatible only with the 32-bit system, then I would recommend staying with Win 7 32 bit OS.
But new software can be installed on 32-bit and 64-bit systems -
Portege R700 - how update Win 7 32 bit to 64 bit?
After having upgraded the RAM 8 GB, how now move the installed "Windows 7 Pro" from 32-bit to 64-bit in order to make the best use of the extra memory?
No "Tecchie", so please explain in simple terms!
Thank you
Hello
You can not move from Win 7 32 bit to 64 bit.
To use the Win 7 64-bit system, you must make a full, clean install of Win 7 64 bit. This would require the installation of all your software, tool, utility as pilots.

Re: NB550D with win 7 64 bit
I recently bought a NB550D with c-50.
There are several discussions around the internet and here about the upgrades. It seems that the 2 are the main challenges or desired things to do with this laptop with equal challenges.
1 put level memory to 4 GB
2 install win 7 64 bit.I decided to embark on the two, so here I will try to summarize what I have done or have been done to help others who would like to do a similar thing:
1 memory
In summary, it seems that the laptop can use speed of DDR3-1066 DDR3-1066 and DDR3-1333. People report that kingston modules have no problem.
After reading many forums, I decided to buy Kingston DDR3-1333 memory since the 1066 kingston was not available in the shop, I visited.
I installed it and works well in the original operating system (started) and Ultimate 64 bit (ongoing). The difference is night and day.2 Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
After reading around in the forums, it is clear that people have issues with drivers and especially display drivers. Here's what I did so far, although I'm still updating the drivers:
1 downloaded the driver realtek Lan here:
http://www.Realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1&PNid=14&PFID=7&level=5 & Conn = 4 & DownTypeID = 3 & GetDown = false
I downloaded the driver only "Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 pilot' version 7.049
(to be edited later need to rush... :))

Can you please send number of exact model of your NB? I just want you check the specs to see what is the maximum RAM for it.
Maybe a stupid question now but is there so special reason why you want to have the Ultimate version? You are not satisfied with the original preinstalled OS?

I also managed to install the package value toshibas, but the standby electricity utility does not work.Is there a way to fix this?

Does that mean exactly? How to understand this? -
Satellite A300D-15B PSAKCE - cannot install the audio driver for Win XP 64 bit
Hi all
This is my first post here after hidden during the last week or so, my hope is that somewhere it helps and hope so!
I have a wonderful Toshiba A300D-15B PSAKCE with RAM 4 GB/O, but I suffer from some problems RESEARCH Holy function cannot resolve. I use this laptop as a box of development for uni/work unfortunately...
After a complete nightmare and Vista32, Vista64, I decided to go back to windows XP32, however this custom install, continues to claim a failure of a CRC file after (and Yes, that's with SATA in IDE mode and a disc of XPSP2)
I decided that I really DON'T want to goback to Vista, so installed Windows XP64. Now the first installation is very easy, I have the basic configuration, the chipset, graphic, network, CPU, usb, fine... except basic... and that's where I lost most of my hair... SOUND!
First try to install the results of the pilot of his failure, claiming the mmdriver.inf cannot be found or corrupted, obviously I checked, and yes there it is, downloaded pleasure the MMDRIVER. INF and placed it system32 and the installation always fails.
I also tried a "manual installation", in .inf files... which includes pilots XP32/64 and Vista 32/64 bit drivers, still the same
problem, the driver continues to not install. I am going bald. Exceptional drivers who moved there* - Audio device on High Audio Defninition Bus *.

Hello
The laptop seems to use the Conexant audio chip. So, you will need the right sound driver for Win XP 64 bit.
Unfortunately, the European driver Toshiba page provides the drivers for Win XP but I don't know if the pilots would cover the OS 64 bit as well m.Anyway, what you need to know, is that you will need to first install the patches Ms.
The fix KB835221 and KB888111MS must be installed before installing the audio driver.
If you have tried to install the driver, then remove it from the Device Manager and update Windows XP first!AFAIK that SP3 already contains these patches then perhaps you should install SP3 first before starting with the installation of the audio driver.

Satellite A300 Win XP 64 bit drivers asked
Hello people,
I'm trying to figure if Toshiba has drivers for win xp 64-bit. There are drivers for xp, but it is not discrimination as in Vista, where you can get 32 or 64 bit drivers from the drop-down list.
Thanks for your response in advance :)
Hello
Win XP 64 bit drivers do not exist on the pages of Toshiba
I doubt that you will find on any of the page of Toshiba you need to get on 3 third-party pages, but it will be a difficult undertaking because the Win XP 64 bit was not so popular as a 32 bit OS.But since the release of RAM of 4 GB which is linked to the limitation of the operating system 32-bit, many people try the Win XP 64 bit. But most manufactures don't develop 64-bit Win XP drivers in this time Win 7 is the future and the King. You know.

Help to install Zoo Tycoon 2 "Zookeeper Collection" on Win 7 64 bit?
Howdy!
I tried several times to install Zoo Tycoon 2 'guardians of Zoo Collection' on my PC with WIN 7 64 bit, but for the life of me, I can't make it work. Everytime I try to start the game I get an error box saying I don't have enough graphics memory. Of course this is not the case because I have a Nvidia Ge Force 8800 GT with 256 MB of ram with a quad core and 8 GB RAM. So it's not like my system it cannot manage. It worked fine when I had Windows XP as well so I'm a loser. Can someone help me please? Thanks in advance.
Hi pigdeluxewithcheese,
Sorry for the late reply. You can try to install the game in clean boot and check if that helps: to start the computer in a clean boot , you can see the link below: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Make sure that you reset the computer in normal mode after the installation (you can view step 7 from the link above)
You can even try the steps listed in whitneya2007 from the link below: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistagaming/thread/71cc8b9b-5ab5-47e7-b060-70656ee82352

System crashes, requires the difficult start run World Of Warcraft Win 7 64 bit
* Edited for completion 10/29/09
When I run World of Warcraft, my system will lock up and require a difficult start. Sometimes this will happen after only a few minutes, sometimes it will take 1 to 2 hours, but it will always be the case. That's what I've done so far:
I have a clean install of Win 7 64 bit, I have a new installation of the software of the game (World of Warcraft), I have a problem after a clean boot, I have all the latest drivers, tried older drivers, used a driver Sweeper and installed the latest drivers... in short, I did everything what I can do , and I did a lot of research to try to find a solution. * I also tried different compatibility modes, ran the program as an administrator, and ran the program in windowed mode, as well as various combitation of preceding.

I am also under Windows 7 64-bit and WoW. I've not seen any problems with him myself. Have you had this problem in any other place, or is it just for WoW? You run the game to what resolution\level of detail? Are the vents on your own PC and fans are you running properly? This is so a few things to try.
If you only see this in WoW, you play other games? If you do not really play anything else (except perhaps lonely like me) then go download a demo of a graphics intense game. Something like Crysis or Batman Arkham Asylum (just a few suggestions), just try something that will be your tax system. Then run this demo for a while and see what happens. If it crashes with another game then I suggest that consider you the possibility of your system overheating. If it crashes with another game, then remove the computer cover and blow a fan at home if possible. If the lock upwards continues to happen only in WoW then you need to check with their support to see if they are aware of this situation.

Problem installing WIN 7 64 bit on a Vostro V131 with SSD
Hello everyone,
I just got my new Vostro V 131 with i5 2430 M, 4 GB RAM, HD3000 graphics and standard 500 GB HARD drive!
I already had a new OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB SSD and wanted to change it against the bed on the HARD drive.
I put a boot Win 7 64 bit with SP1 on a USB key and started the system. I am able to choose my language setting and then click the button "Start installation". And this is the mess: Setup starts, then then tells me I need to install other drivers. I can't choose anything else but a reader where these drivers. So I downloaded the SATA (AHCI) support drivers for my controller from DELL. They are recodnized by the system as drivers and checked, but I just go back to the window that says Add. the drivers are needed. The SSD is recognized in BIOS and SATA set to AHCI. I was able to format and part with the victory included tools/recovery Partition.
OK, I checked for allmost everything, which could cause such problems. SSD firmeware is updated, set BIOS to update (as mentioned, SSDS is shown correctly). I put the SSD drive on an external HARD drive enclosure, and it has been shown in Windows as a normal USB storage device.
Everything I checked was correct, the SSD is identified and shown correct instead of the Win7 installation menu.
I am at the end of my ideas and hope that one of you can help out me!
Thank you so far...
Flo
I discovered what caused all this trouble ;-)
It was the USB port used! I don't know why, but the USB 3 port starts the installation and then want additional drivers! I swapped the USB 2 port and everything worked fine. ;-)
But thanks for the answer! Also, I don't have a DVD player ;-) If this would not have worked.
