HP Elitebook 840 g3: HP Elitebook 840 g3 or Off to turn on a backlit keyboard

Hello

How can I turn on a keyboard backlit or Off?

Thank you.

Come on now, you know that I do not see your laptop.

Look at the keyboard to see if there is the special key that is listed in the manual. If she does'nt, so there no backlit keyboard option.

  • What is this connector for the backlit keyboard? (with photo) EliteBook 8760w

I recently bought a workstation EliteBook 8760w Mobile with the standard keyboard (not backlit).  I really, really, REALLY want to replace the keyboard with a backlit.  I think I found the connector to the Ribbon of bavklight, but I would like confirmation before ordering a new keyboard.  Can (will?) someone please let me know if the arrow on the picture is oriented on the backlight Ribbon connector?  It seems to be in the right place, based on images of the underside of the backlit keyboard for the 8760w.  Thanks in advance for any help!

Yes, there is nothing else, it might actually be.

  • EliteBook 8740w thinks that the lid is closed, but it is open?

    Hello

I have an EliteBook 8740w running Windows 7 64 bit and I have a strange problem where the laptop seems to think that the cover is closed when it is open.

If the cover is open, the screen is off the touchpad and keyboard, the two do not work and not the function of the buttons volume or wifi. When the screen is almost completely closed the screen turns back on, the keyboard and the mouse are beginning to work again, but it is not usable, because it is about 5 degrees, far from fully closed.

It seems that it is just reverse how it is supposed to work?

All this happened when I unplugged my power cord. The screen turned white and it has been in place since then. I tried several reboots, nothing seems to recover.

I can run on my external monitor very well, so the laptop seems to be otherwise functional

Thanks in advance for any ideas

Maybe you did not reset properly.

Remove the battery and adapter and all the things connected to the laptop.

Hold the power button down for 1 full minute and only plug the adapter back to (do not insert the battery) and start.

The next time you stop everything, install the battery.

I found a review for this laptop, so I don't know the specs. The first SATA III support for HP laptops are series Dv6-6000, Sandy Bridge, which is the second generation of Intel processors. It starts with Core iX-2XXX. Means that your laptop is certainly a SATA II one. I got it so I know for sure.

My HARD drive is starting to become a little slow and I want to move to an SSD. I borrowed an empty SSD with a friend to test the speed, but it does not appear in the BIOS. It is a standard Samsung SSD that should work. Is there a problem with my computer or it's compatibility with the SSDbrand or the type problems?

    Hi Devmarti,

Your hard disk Samsung SSD should work on HP Elitebook 840 G1 as long as he uses the SATA port. You can check the video below to perform the duplication of the OS on your new hard drive before replace you youtube.

  • HP Elitebook 840 NIC problem

Strange question.  I have a 840 Elitebook with Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.   Once installed, I copied the driver on an external disk drive and installed the drivers.  All the drivers are installed with one exception.  When the driver of the CARD sets, the system hangs.  Any movement of the mouse, nothing.  I'm a hard cock down and restart and it freezes on the Welcome screen. If I reboot and go to Safe Mode (without network), it loads up.  I remove the driver and restart and it starts up fine. I searched around for the updated drivers and can not find.  Even the driver on the HP website is the same.   Does anyone have a suggestion?
