5if Laserject HP: HP Laserjet 5if 79 (0015) / Line = 536

Our printer HP Laserjet 5if is old, but still works well. In the last two weeks, we have been doing a random error line = 536, 79 (0015).  We did not have any changes to the software of the PC in the office, so I don't know why this is happening now.  Any thoughts what it is?  Other 79 error codes, it seems it might be a driver problem.  We can erase by turning the printer off. We have not identified when / who is the impression when this error occurs.  If this is related to the drivers and a BONE, does that mean that all people using this printer will have to update the drivers on their PC?  Sorry if I sound like an idiot, I'm not good with this stuff.

I think it's a driver problem, and since it's such an old printer, I would use the simpler driver that I could find.  In your case, I would use the pcl5 if driver are not already using.  Keep in mind, even if she works very well what happens is a lot of websites use again coding and when you go to print, the older driver does not understand everything and you get the error.  Try first the driver on a computer to see if this computer is able to print without problem and if it works, use the same driver on all other machines.

    Thank you

    Hi @Pichopop,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I read your post and see that you have found a blue line, during the analysis from the ADF. I will definitely do my best to help you. What is the name and the product number of your printer? How can I find my model number or product number?

There are several models of Laserjet 200 series.

Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation. Poor power connections can cause problems of copy and scanning and rejection of the toner.

Here is a document for the cleaning of the glass and Platinum. You will notice that there are two areas for the glass, one for the dish and the other is for the ADF.

Do not take into account the model and the title. Proceed to step three: clean the glass and Platinum sweeping.

Please let me know the results and if there is anything else I can help you. Thank you.

  • LaserJet M477: LaserJet M477 prints some lines in italics, and vertical lines must be straight are wavy

    Hello

I just bought my LaserJet M477 a week ago, and I've noticed a few problems print quality:

    • When I print text documents, some lines incorrect impression of italic characters, while the text is not italicized in the source document.  The problem is not random - I can print the same page twice, and it is implemented in italics in the same places.
    • When I print graphics, long straight lines parallel to the direction of the paper path have regular aberrations, light showers in them.  The problem seems to occur at intervals down the page (as if there could be an irregularity in a circular or cylindrical part inside).  I am even noticing the problem when I print the test page "setting of alignment".  In comparison, all the lines that are perpendicular to the paper path are sharp and straight.

Another post on this site suggested a "reset power" to solve a similar problem with the italics, but this does not solve the problem for me.

I've also updated the firmware and drivers and installed/reinstalled the printer, each nothing helps.

The question of italics seems like it might be a software problem, but I fear that the problem of vertical wavy lines might be a mechanical problem.

    Could someone suggest solutions?

    Thank you

    Droms,

I chatted with HP online tech support yesterday, share everything we have discussed here and they concluded that there is a hardware problem with the printer.  They recommended I have share the printer to my point of sale to another unit.  Fortunately, I'm still within 14 days of the back window.  HP has also instructed to give me my case ID to the retailer, probably as license to HP for them to accept the return unit and perhaps to help diagnose the unit once the logistics team sent back to HP.

BTW, HP examined our whole conversation here thread, and the thought of a problem with the Starter toner cartridges never came.

You can continue a similar conversation with the HP technical support.  I'd hate to see that you stuck with a defective printer.

Thanks for your comments, and I hope that you are able to get an acceptable resolution.

  • HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw: Horizontal lines

I get horizontal lines of black soft about an inch and a half out when printing. I ran a cleaning cycle and the lines are still there.

You must find the ruler of repetitive defects to the machine as we speak. The repetitive defects ruler is a chart that shows what the machine rolls can cause a problem based on the distance between the beginning of a defect in the beginning of the next.

But to make it even more simple since you use a machine of color and the default appears in a color then it is almost always going to be color, in that the default is the toner cartridge.

If my post has solved your problem then please be admitted as button solution under him. In order to thank a technician for a position you can give them congratulations by clicking on the thumbs upwards the button under the post. Hey it's Friday you can click on the two buttons.

  • M3035: LaserJet M3035 Intermittent black lines on any Page, no question of Scanner Laser

Currently of problems with two of these Multifunction products.

Machine 1 # started a week ago and a half, intermittent lines that seem to be a problem of HVPS, (power supply high voltage).  Two lines on the page between the longitudinal edges, lines appear blurry.

There are three printers M3035 in this room, machine #2 is mainly used for file scanning and until about 2 weeks ago was not used for printing.

When #1 didn't #2 toner cartridge was traded in #1, (and #1 cartridge # 2), number one has always had the same problem so I ordered a HVPS.

The next day, I was out and another Tech looked #1 and decided that it needed a transfer roller and also decided to Exchange #1 to #3, given that the person using #1 was printing which were to be made where they are not accessible to everyone.

A few pages of test were performed on #3 and they looked good, so no. 3 has been moved into the Office next to #1.

When #3 was turned on and tested, it was printed lines across the page!

Since #3 is running on the power of the cable #1 cable has been replaced with a new cable.  The output has been verified for correct wiring, (tester used wiring available at Home Depot, etc.) and I took out my meter and the good test line and remained strong throughout testing printing.

An extension has been completed past another outlet to verify that the problem was not gout and #3 failed again.

#1 has been moved to the office #3 has and has been tested, he had problems, but they were slightly different, there was a grey shading across the entire page, because it was new I swapped the toner with #2 (this replace the original toner # 1) and #1 worked well, but was so #2.

At this point, it was late on a Friday so that the print was made in another room and the problem put off until Monday.

    (will continue in another post)

This printer has the same engine as the P3005 and there is a question that has been pretty common on this printer and it's the block of ground on the left side.  There is a mech that when you open the toner door separates a spring load piece since the acutal post that goes against the drum unit on this side of the Earth.  When you install the toner and close the door mechs two-piece flat against them and provide the grounding.  You will see I think that red ground wire that attaches from the bottom.  Most of the time the solution is very easy.  I just take a big piece of cardboard and paste it between the 2 black pieces of the MAN.  It remains in place because of the spring mech that keeps the two pieces together.  Once done, who takes care of the issue.  The lines that you get at least in my experience are caused by a lack of firm ground.  If you can recreate the lines still just have side trim left and just press the black mech and make a test and I do not know that the lines will be gone.  I repaired probably at least a couple of dozen of those printers who had this problem using the same procedure.  You can see the other two printers as it is a very common problem.  According to me, that the parties are called upon to lever earthing contact.  Chances are that supply high voltage was good.

  • HP LaserJet Pro 1212nf busy line problem

I again, out of the box-printer-fax machine, and I have a big problem with the fax option. When I connect the telephone line cable, it opens the line and keeps it busy. I followed the procedure of connection and installation of drivers and software and configuration of fax options. Phone line is not direct, but is connected throgh Panasonic central phone (dial 9 for outside call). No other phones or devices are connected on this local line. I'm doing something wrong or is this a hardware problem? Fax pickups line even if completely off and without power cable set.

    Thanks in advance

If the unit is off, he can't do any activity related to the FAX, so it is not question of hardware product with a problem.  First, you will need to check your phone/junction line.

  • LaserJet P1505n - "printer off-line" message and will not be printed

I use MAC OS 10.8.4. connected to the printer via the ethernet connection

Have had on and outside messages as the "printer is not connected" and it will not be printed. Sometimes, I can't print a day and may the next day.  All connections are correct.

I followed the suggestion online HPs and deleted the name of the printer in system preferences - print and scan. Turned things market according to the guidelines. Supposedly I should be able to add the printer, but it will not be displayed in the list of printers. Cannot reinstall from the disc because there has been updates.

Now am stuck with how to make it work again.

Thanks - I can try your suggestions. The firewall is all that came with my iMac and has never been a problem before and I made no changes to it recently.

Before I try something that will help me get the printer displayed in the selection list so I can add it to my System Prefs?

Is it possible download the drivers from the HP website?

  • HP Laserjet 5if problem

    Howdy!

I have a printer HP Laserjet 5if, I used it on my network for years. I added different machines and all woked fine. Today I turned it on and all computers show the printer as offline, as I restared the printer and the computer still no change. Have you checked the port settings and nothing changed the printer prints the configuration page in the menu of the printer, but it does seem like the printer communicating with the network. The network adapter could've gone wrong?

    Thank you

    Jamie

You go to a denial of service commands (start, run, command and press enter) and to the command line just type ping 192.168.1.10 where replace you the address of the printer for the numbers I show and press on enter. See if you get a response or expiration time. If the time on the map is probably bad and needs to be replaced. You can substitute any card HP MIO.

Thank you for using answers Forum.

The network printer is connected to a XP computer?
Are either using a 64-bit version of Windows?

I suggest visiting the manufacturer's Web site to see if they have Windows 7 drivers or at least Vista drivers.

I also propose to sign in as an administrator to install the printer.

  • WinXP Driver for HPLJ 5if

Does anyone know of a Windows XP driver for a HPLJ 5if? Or a compatible universal driver WinXP? Thanks in advance.

There could be in the OS.

You use add printer to install?

During the process of adding the printer, you will be asked to install the printer driver.  Look for the pilot 5if under the manufacturer HP and the HP LaserJet 5printer.  There will be a lot of scrolling.

  • 5if MX: power supplies of envelopes 5if 3765A or b 3765 - those who buy?

    Hello

I have a 5SIMX workhorse, but I need an envelope feeder.

I noticed that there are two versions, one is 3765-A and the other is 3765-B.

I guess that the B version is the latest and greatest.

Is anyone know the difference, and is it important?

The a version only works with your model. The B version works with your model as well as the 8000 series complete.

  • HP Color LaserJet CP2025 in Windows 7 64 - bit... installed, does not print

HP Color LaserJet CP2025 / Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

I went through all of the steps outlined on the HP website (has not used the CD of the product, plugged in USB, allow to find the Windows Update driver: the last HP Color LaserJect CP2020 Series PCL6 for 64 - bit indicates in the printer server properties) Windows Fix - it says printer is no problem, only one of the four diagnostic tools/wizards that HP actually provides support this printer (1 out of 4... really!) and only one tool that It is very well... when he's not.

When I send a job to the HP printer, it does nothing. No job/queue printing is created (the queue is empty... always). So far, a terrible experience... not support for Windows 7 in the basic installation, then any support for this printer HP by HP diagnostic tools. A complete skin... I'm about to go back to Amazon to refund and enter the negative feedback to warn everyone who could expect the support of Windows 7 now and certainly support by HP of the diagnostic tools and of the "wizards" for a real product, HP.

Someone out there has a similar problem and more important still, a real solution.

I've tried everything that (before), but I tried again... and not luck. So, I gave up trying with USB and figured out how to use direct Ethernet to my PC. There is no instructions with the printer on it good... seems they are focusing on the use in a LAN environment against a small home/office network. But it works now. Thanks for trying.

Open System Preferences > Printers and Scanners and select the print tab.
