  I just jumped in the cloud to adobe and downloaded the latest version of Lightroom.  Lightroom is not read my raw files, and it won't matter pictures.  I tried troubleshooting base of MAC OS system preferences with no luck.  Any suggestions?

  Your problem is with the writing of the destination for the import permissions - a question of OS. Search the forum for the (exact) error message, and you will find hundreds of messages explaining the problem and how to fix it.

  Yes, Lightroom CC is Canon 50 d raw files supported: supported by Adobe Camera Raw devices

  You can import them directly into Lightroom.

  Could you please share the exact error message you get when importing, also post a screenshot of the import window.

  Most of the time this happens when you have a bad Destination set (with limited write permissions) in the import window. See thread 6.1.1 Lightroom will not import my photos - please help

  In the Lightroom Import dialog box, click on copy. Is - what the Destination sign on the right appear? Is it increased? Is there a specific destination folder specified?

• I can't open the raw photos from the camera. I tried to update.

  I recently tried to open the photos I shot in camera raw on my photoshop CS5.  None would be open.  I went to help - updates on my photoshop and tried several times to update my photoshop to allow the camera raw photos open.  Whenever I tried to update, I got the message that there is a mistake, quit and try again. I've done several times and it still doesn't work. I have a Dell pc and I draw pictures on a Nikon D7000.  Please can someone tell me what to do?

  You need Camera Raw 6.3 (or later version) installed for this camera.

  You can check the version you are using via Help > About Plug-Ins > Camera Raw.

  CS5 comes with Camera Raw 6.0 and can be updated from Camera Raw 6.7. The mechanism of updating in Photoshop can be sometimes flaky.

  Try manually download and install the camera Raw 6.7. Installation instructions are given at the bottom of the page.

• Lightroom does not matter the raw and jpeg photos of the same image, only the raw file.

  I have a Canon 7 d and I can take at the same time gross (.cr) and jpeg images. When I import raw images only images seem to be imported. I unchecked the box "don't import suspected duplicates" but I only see the .cr version after importation in the grid. I use LT6 but this also happens in LT5. What should I do? Thank you.

  Go to publishing in the top menu bar

  Click on preferences

  Go to the general tab

  Check the option "JPEGs regal next to raw as separate photos files.

  Restart Lightroom

  Repeat the import process

• 5.6 Mac Lightroom won't matter of SD or CF Chips

  Mac OSX 10.9.5 with LR 5.6, 16 GB RAM, SSD 512, lots of free space.

  I've seen other threads on LR could not import, errors out with "Lightroom is unable to read XYZ files" (or something close). This happens with a SD chip inserted directly into the Mac and a chip of CF on a drive USB, RAW and JPEG since a D610 and a D70S. But, if you copy the files manually and import or synchronize works.  There is no odd permissions on the chips (formatting only on the camera) and iPhoto will import very well, so I don't think it's a hardware problem.

  In addition, it is fairly recent. I have previous images that are always on the same chips than any properly LR.

  The destination folder that Lightroom is trying to copy the file to your hard drive doesn't have WRITE permission. Change your permissions.

• Lightroom won't matter of photos from my iphone 6 s.

  Lightroom says no preview available and then ejects the phone from Lightroom, but not from the computer.  This just started today - imports were very well because a month ago, I bought the phone.  Now none of my photos are seen by Lightroom - previews are not available for ALL the photos on the phone.  The photos are still on the phone at least.  For the time being.

  Probably my computer.  Need to reinstall OS.

  Your new device needs at least 5.4 of Lightroom. Adobe sells more Lightroom 5. You can switch to Lightroom 6, or subscribe to the creative cloud, or you can download the free DNG Converter and create DNG copies that you can use with the software you have.

  You are right in that the camera has been initially supported by Camera Raw 7.3 (and DNG converter 7.3) but CS5 is compatible with Camera Raw up to version 6.7.

  So, you will never be able to open this camera Raw files directly in CS5. To do this, you must either CS6 or any version of cloud.

  If you have downloaded the DNG Converter, try the latest version 9.1.1.

  The DNG Converter is a stand-alone utility. It is not used with CS5 somehow.

  This error message is usually because don't have you read and write to the Destination folder in the correct Panel on the right of the import dialog box by using the options available in your operating system or choose another destination to copy the file to.

  You can also do a search on the forum as there are has dozens of similar positions.

  Display the exact error message you get when importing.

  D500 requires Lightroom 6.5/CC 2015.5. Cameras supported by Adobe Camera Raw
