  Because (for reasons that are not suitable to my questions): I can not reasonably migrate to new Versions of PSE and I'm more or less stuck for a few years for the use of PSE V10. I'm so looking for a relatively effective solution to the process/change (a small percentage) of the RAW files from my new future/camera (s) with the combination of PSE V10 and CR 6.4.1 (according to my understanding, PSE V10 does not support CR 8.6 - PSE V10 not even allows you to import new cameras RAW files in the PSE catalog).

  I was hoping that the DNG Converter could be a good solution for me. I intended

  • to convert the RAW files from my new camera (and my new future cameras) with an updated version of the DNG Converter,
  • import the .dng files in PSE V10
  • and then access to (and then for a few of them: change) DNG files with the combination of PSE V10 and CR 6.4.1.

  However, I felt recently, the profile only camera of the CR 6.4.1 that makes reasonably well my new compact camera Canon Powershot G16 DNG files is the 'Adobe Standard' of the camera profile.  In my tests with the combination of PSE V10 and ACR 6.4.1, rendering of these files with other CR 6.4.1 DNG profiles (for example the 'faithful camera' profile) (on colors and brightness/contrast) is really ugly and (to a layperson like me) more or less unusable (while rendering the same DNG file with the profile "Camera Faithfull" from the combination of CR 8.6 + PSE V13 is entirely reasonable).

  May I ask the following questions to someone who is familiar with the format, DNG and CR?

  1. My observations (i.e. made ugly of Canon Powershot G16 photos with the "profile trusty camera" ACR 6.4.1) correspond to what experts DNG should and expect?
  2. What is the likely reason for the ugly rendering of the 'faithful Camera' profile of the VC 6.4.1? The converter DNG not include a specific G16 'Faithful Camera' profile in the DNG file?
  3. Or do you think I did something wrong and I'm the one to blame for the ugly rendering with the 'Faithful Camera' profile used by CR 6.4.1? If this is the case: I have probably wrong and what can I do better?
  4. Do you think that the combination of the PSE V10 and CR 6.4.1, I'm having similar problems with the conversion to DNG Raw files in the future cameras as the successor to the Nikon D5300 or D7100 (which I'd probably buy once available)? Or do you think that the problems that I encountered with the Powershot G16 photos are not likely to occur with most other new camwras?

• Error with Nikon D600 and PES 11 in the RAW (.nef) 9 files.

  When I used PSE 8, I could easily open all the .nef files and edit them.

  Now with PES 11, I get an error message that says that my camera is not compatible. I got a Nikon D600 and use a VR Nikon ED AF-S Nikkor 24-85mm 01:35-45 G, Nikon ED Lens EF - S Nikkor VR 70-300 mm lens of 01:45-56 G and a Nikon DX AF - S Nikkor 18-55 mm 01:35-56 G too.

  The error message says "...". leader appears a model of camera that is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw... ». Why she PES 11 not backward compatible?

  I bought PSE 2 of 11 weeks. I bought the Nikon in a local photo store in November 2012.

  By the Adobe Web site, I installed the patches DNG 7.2, 7.3 and 8.1. None have solved the problem after completely installing the download (to complete) and reboot the PC several times.

  PES 10 editable vectors?  Example: I download a vector graphics, stock photography site navigation elements, I want to use some of these on a photo/blog, etc.  Can I do this?  Could not with PSE 7, I was wondering if I should switch to 10 if it can handle the vectors now.

  You have a PSD file created in the 'big' Photoshop.  These layers are actually groups of layers, that PES cannot be changed.

• Adobe Camera Raw and PES 9

  I was watching a tutorial today on ACR and noticed that the version was using the Narrator had a lot more icons than the version that I use (6.2) in PSE 9. For example, there are icons for toning, vignetting and several others that I do not see when you open a RAW image in PSE 9. Anyone know why I get all the actions available?

  The version of ACR that comes with the PES is a subset featured full cab. It doesn't have features like brushes of adjustment, automatic lens correction, etc. that you've seen probably shown in the video.  The only way to get these features is via full Photoshop (not); Mac PSE 8 or an earlier version. or equivalent functionality in another interface, Lightroom.

  Too bad, huh? But no, your installation of PSE is probably fine.

• 6.3 cab rc and PES 9

  6.3 ACR rc works with Elements 9?  When I try to install it, I get "update is not applicable."

  When the actual update is released shortly, it will be compatible with PSE9 but the release candidate applies to the CS5 and Lightroom.

• PES and GSS server load

  The documentation States it is advisable to run 2 or more GSS and I wonder if I can just run 1 GSS on the same instance as my PES? I'm trying to understand what kind of work load a GSS and server PES takes in a production environment, not yet in production. We do not run awareness, research, CCS, or ACI and the only scenarios that we have configured are for individual events and actions, so it doesn't seem like the PES or GSS are facing a lot of load and should have no problem running on the same server. I realize that every site is different, so there is no clear answer, but maybe someone can help explain the expected load of these 2 servers when running workflows and STANDARD scenarios.

  PES and GSS servers can run on the same instance.
  If it has no flow of work or obtaining scenarios published frequently then PES server will have minimal use.
  And GSS server manage collective scenarios like sending promotional emails etc.
  If you don't have many collective scenarios with the GSS and PES on the same server will not impact lift.

  We used only GSS and a PSE configured on the same server on 120 server cluster and didn't find any problems.
  I used a setup similar to many customers.

  Someone will probably answer that until I've finished typing.

  Your question is less with PES than ACR or Adobe Camera Raw.  ACR works somewhat like a conversion engine for RAW photos of all the different models of camera to photo of Adobe programs.   Adobe updates for models all recent few months.  They do not allow useful descendant of software elements.

  So you get two choices.  You can upgrade PES that works with the current ACR modules.  If you don't want to learn the new interface and tools in PSE 12, you can use the free and downloadable "Adobe DNG Converter" which is also followed for the new camera models.  It will be batch process camera drops you off at a RAW format more universal which is useful in the software that you have.

• PES 11 and Camera RAW ORF DNG files does not work

  Please help, I use an iMac OSX 10.9.2 and PES 11 running.  I have been strongly improve my skills and have been very happy, while using my Canon G15 shooting in RAW only.  I recently bought an Olympus E - M1 MDGS and can't PSE to see the files of the ORF.  I downloaded the latest DNG converter 7.3.071 and all looks fine until I just convert a folder.  DNG says that it cannot find any compatible file.  I followed the instructions I found on various boards of Directors, but does not.

  How can I download files from HUS and VIP for my Bernina Version 6 software? Currently, I'm only able to download ART and PES files.

  joydesigns.org (a HUS file extensions) and comcast.net (a VIP file extensions). I get a message that says "windows cannot open this file, use the web or select the program from a list". I downloaded supposed solutions to problems of conversion and lived to regret it. So, I don't know what I can do to download these special files.

  In your original post, you said you wanted to download files to use with your software Bernina HUS and VIP.

  HUS files are Husqvarna Viking embroidery files.   VIP files also are Husqvarna; Here is the Viking/Pfaff home embroidery Format.

  You have reason to believe that your Bernina embroidery software should be able to use the Husqvarna Viking files?

  On the site joydesigns.org, the design of the Dove who has the instructions "Click on the dove to go to the download page for design in .hus format" actually will download a zip compressed file if you click the icon ("FlyingDoleB.zip").  When you click on an image to download the file, you must select the option to save these files in a location that you will remember and then right click and select "extract" all to join the HUS of the file (not all downloads from this Web site are HUS).

  Once you have the file HUS, you right-click, select open with > choose program, then select your Bernina software in the list (or browse to its location in C:\Program Files).  If you check the box "Always use the selected program to open this type of file" you can double-click on these files in the future.  Of course, it depends on software Bernina being able to recognize the files of HUS.

  VIP files on some comcast getaway site should be handled in the same way.

  So I think I found the reason for the problem:

  About 60% of my files in my catalog of PES 11 are converted (or probably better: "sent") to Lightroom with a double slash "/ /" in the path of the file.

  This looks like: D:/photos/ /Keep, albums, 2002, 200212 < the rest of the way is OK >...

  Lightroom complains that it cannot find the file on the disk, probably because of the double slash.

  With more than 4,000 theses error Lightroom core dumps with a buffer overflow, probably due to the large number of error messages. Cup of the catalogue of PES 11 decline little by little I managed to identify the cause.

  The problem is that my PES 11 catalog is repaired, optimized and PES 11 think that the file is in the correct location and can open and edit it.

  So what do I do to make the two programs to understand each other with their file name conventions? ... or how to get rid of the second crime "/"?

  Good afternoon

  I'm trying to upgrade a PES 10 catalog Lightroom (Lightroom details below) CC - both on Windows 8.1 (details below as well)

  There are about 30,000 photos in the catalogue of PES 10. Import runs for awhile then LR CC shows a short message that it could not import all of the photos and then it is intercepted by a Windows operating system message that indicates «Lightroom has stopped working...» »

  He has imported about 3,500 photos and converted all the photos of Collections, but also in the tree of the key.

  I tried the following:

  (in PES 11)

  • optimized and repaired the catalog
  • removed all files types that LR does not support
  • removed all media offline

  (in LR cc)

  • Tried running in different compatibility modes
  • Tried running in administrator mode
  • Temporarily disabled any antivirus software

  I run LR CC successfully with a new catalog and it behaved very well through all operations. TI ROM dumps on the conversion of this catalogue. Importing photos from the catalogue above works fine hierarchy; just that it loses the key word and obviously knows no collections.

  Is there any log file indicating the element involved the conversion?

  I have to say that I love LR after a period of three weeks of the trial, but I'm not really ready to let go hold on 90% of my data meta at this stage.

  I found the reason, but there is no solution...

  Comments:

  The double slash ' \ ' in the path appears to be introduced with the upgrade to PSE10. I can't say how it happened, but there were about 27,000 files connected by an access path "D:\pictures\\album\portrait\image_1.jpg".

  Fortunately, I worked with this database, as in fact all files could be catalogued, modified, opened with the editor. I checked from time to time for "Missing files" and none has been identified. After I discovered the problem during the conversion of catalogue Lr, I checked the display "File Location" and none of the files with the double slash are recognized as part of the catalog. I could import into the catalog of the "location of the folder" producing duplicates:

  'D:\pictures\\album\portrait\image_1.jpg '.

  'D:\pictures\album\portrait\image_1.jpg '.

  live happily next to each other.

  I could "move" the wrong file in the thumbnail view in its original, which corrects the incorrect path. But as my collection is well distributed on a large directory structure and there is no way to sort way "thumbnail" it would be a never-ending task.

  Here are the steps I took to fix the problem. It was not as simple as it sounds by

  now and took a lot of trial and error for weeks.

  1. I made a backup of the catalog PSE10 ("File-> backup catalog..") hard disk
  2. I have 'removed' photos from their original location, so that they could not be found (as I had a distinct data reader, I just removed the drive letter in the Windows Disk Management Console)
  3. I restored the backup PSE10 ("File-> Restore Catalog... "), choose 'new place' and placed in the root of a different drive. If you do not have a spare laptop drive, you can use the "subst q: ; I had hoped to keep the structure of the root, it is easier for the PSE10 to reconnect files later, but I can't confirm that it makes a difference.
  4. After restoring PSE10 complained (thankfully!) could not find any files (27,000) with double '-', so, unlike the situation at the beginning, I could now chose "file-> reconnect-> all missing files. He tried to find the files, but he could not find them in the area returned after searching for 5 minutes for the first file. Then I reconnected a file manually and restarted the process and after 1 h PSE10 had reconnected all files without any problems, and the images appeared as well in the 'file location' display.
  5. As I wanted my files in their original location, I "return" the files in their original location by moving them in the 'File location' view, which took another 3 hours.
  6. As I was not very confident with the whole process ensuring all files have actually been part of this process, I closed 10 PSE and "reinstalled" my original tree together file pictures of the "retired" location (step 2) after you delete the files moved PSE10.
  7. I grew up PSE10 and checked for missing files, everything was still connected.
  8. Finally I re-imported the tree of the original files 'reinstalled' together again to see if something is missed, but all files have been correctly identified as duplicates. The final step was to validate "File Location" view, where are the files appears in the tree structure tight.

  Then, I did what I wanted finally to update the catalogue of PSE10 to LR6 and it worked without any problems take images and metadata across.

  A plea to Adobe...

  I think it would be a great idea to publish catalogues different proprietary formats (PES / LR). This

  cannot be that difficult because you must have appropriate documentation. In this case the problem could be

  solved with double '-' setting programmatically. If you think that your customers entrust their digital

  assets on your cloud, some "opening" your end would be just one...

• How to use photoshop elements easily 12 and bridge cs4?

  I use Bridge to organize my photos. I would buy photoshop elements 12 but I don't want to use the Organizer (I tried before, but all my pictures are in double XI the organizer and its take too much place in my mac!)

  Well, Yes and no. You can use bridge CS4, but you can not update the raw converter, then you will not be able to see the pictures or make conversions from cameras raw files that are not old enough. But the bridge file types associations should automatically update to send pictures on PES 12 for editing.

  However, although I'm not a fan of the Organizer, is, there is something in your message which can be a misunderstanding:

  all my photos are in double XI the Organization

  The Organizer is just a database. It contains no pictures at all and the only time where only he never copy a picture without more precisely said to do is whent you import a picture from iphoto library, and then he does this to avoid writing in the iphoto iphoto library to the outside, which is a very bad thing to do. You should not use the bridge on your iphoto library, either.

  How a filter for the media offline and PES 11?

  Use the Panel on the left view of "folders". The default is 'My Folders', go to 'View files', click on the little yellow icon to the right of the title "folders."

  "Media offline" should show at the bottom of the list of foldets.

• DNG and Canon SX-50

  I bought 10 PES and PES 11 was released shortly after. PES 10 works very well for my Canon camera, but is it possible to use ACR 7.3 for my Canon SX-50 with 10 of PSE. I tried 7.3 DNG, but it tells me bad, that there are no files in a folder I choose for the conversion.

  I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium, sp1 and Chrome v29 (later).

  While the record that I opened in DNG 7.3 showed no photos in raw (cr2) format (in fact did not show anything in the folder at all and had a few TIFFs in there) then click on convert AND IT worked! He converted all the RAW files to DNG. I guess that if I want to do only 1 file that I need to put this file in a folder itself.

  Moreover, I CAN edit DNG files in 10 items.

  We can now mark this issue as closed.

  less than half of the points in our catalog of PSE 8 appear in the converted catalog. I did several times of backups and the result is the same. I have re = import, but all the marking and editing information will be lost.  What should do?

  Brett: I have correctected the problem. PES wants to store the data of the catalogue in his favorite place. He looked there and found an old catalog. No matter how many times I have indicated where was the correct catalog, he went to the catalog that he had already converted.

  When I emptied PSE 8 and PES 11 slots catalog default and converted the one I wanted to convert, everything is good. He put the catalog where he wanted, of course. I won't go there because it is easier to backup and share the application if the catalog is where are the pictures. In any case, when I moved the new catalogue PSE11, PSE could not find, so when I pointed at the location, everything is good,
