  I'm new to the creative cloud, but not of Adobe Indesign.  Normally when I would update to a software suite, all files associated with a particular program would be automatically associated with the newly loaded software version.  I noticed that all of my "Indesign" files always have the CS4 icon, when I open a file and print, I wonder if I want to save it in a file IDCC.  Then, he makes me choose where to place the file and asks me if I want to get rid of the old file and keep both versions.  I understand that I could store files on my drive hard or in my account of cloud.

  My question is, is there a way to automatically convert all Indesign CS4 files on IDCC files so I don't have to go through the manual process of putting the file newly converted in the right folder each and every time I open a file (for the first time in IDCC)?  I want to keep all my files on my local network for now and feel like I'm missing something simple thank you.

  You would be actually well advised NOT to replace or remove older versions. It is not uncommon for the converted files (especially when the originals are many versions older than the current) to suddenly encounter a fatal error. Backup storage is very cheap compared to the cost of the reconstruction of a long document or complex from scratch.

  There is no single solution and PDF is a choice very little helpful for editing. You need ro be accurate and precise. People slow to download files created with a particular software THAT YOU OWN. Change in the original software. You may need the exact version.

  I have tested PES 10 (from PSE 6) and that you have copied the catalog to a test XP box (but not the JPEG format).  The catalogue refuses to convert with a unspecic error: "Catalogue of conversion failed" see 'Errors of Conversion of catalogue' for more details.

  PES 6 can find no problem with the existing catalog and I worked the french for example http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/515/cpsid_51525.html .

  If the conversion process requires JPEG format etc. then that will certainly cause a problem, they are not visible to this PC!  On the other hand, if it's just a question of the conversion of the catalogue without reference to the source files should be no problem.

  I am reluctant to allow a conversion process break a considerable investment in effort in the catalog PSE6 and want to see it working (and have an advantage that is useful to me) before committing to the original.

  Some statistical fucks: 45 000 images, 140 GB of data, the catalogue is about 1.5 GB.  It takes about 3 minutes to "repair" run (having forced a "repair anyway") and less than 10 minutes to 'optimize '.

  I should add that I ran the psedbtool and finds that both drives are missing (E: and F :), there no missing file.  E: F: are backup USB readers and are not connected, and I expect them to be.  All the photos are in one (which is) on a single disc top-level folder.  If the converter can work only when the backup drives are connected, which seems a bit strange.

  If the only option is to restore the Archives of PSE 6 in PES 10, it's doable, but I was trying to avoid this.

  Perhaps the more relevant question is "that PES 10 offers that I have PSE 6?".  So far I have not found any function really useful, perhaps a few the irritating bugs have been fixed? (Especially the orderby date bug)  I lived with the blow of the multi-core for PSE 6 came out and do not use PSE to catalog my raw files, so this fix has no advantage for me.

  Yes, you must include image files.  As part of the conversion process, the code finds the images to the specified location in the database.

  As long as you have a backup created PSE6, you should be OK.  The backup includes the images as well as the database files.

  If I understand what you're saying, you have installed on your PC to test PSE10.  Copy your backup PSE6 to this PC and then PSE10 restore this backup execution will also convert the catalog to the latest version, and you don't touch your 'real' PSE6 catalog at all.

  May I know the process to convert Doc to PDF files. If you use Acrobat to convert the files, and then with the same application you open.

  I have PSE 9 with camera raw 6.5, running Windows 7.  I shoot a Canon and regularly treat the CR2 files.  Now I'm trying process files NAVE of Nikon of my sister (don't know who probably D90), but PSE says "Cannot be opened because it is the incorrect file type."  They are certainly NEF files, and that she is capable of handling its own files (obviously) what version of PS, it has (no elements).  Anyone can shed some light?  I did a complete update and the computer would restart ago an hour... no dice.

  I wouldn't go as far as naming me as an "audiophile", but I can certainly tell the difference between @ 256 kbps AAC files, and those with the bit rate of a CD.  That said, I spent 3 hours looking for an answer to the cause of my frustration - iTunes game is to convert my files to the ALAC.  When I registered initially for iTunes game a few months ago, precisely, I remember reading somewhere (could not find where so earlier I could quote it) on the Apple Web site that your original in your library files would be unchanged.

  What happened - I noticed today that several of my 'matched' songs had the iCloud beside them download icon. At the time, I was streaming from a Macbook Pro to my home theater receiver using AirPlay, and my iPad for the remote control.  Inadvertently, I clicked on the download icon, which would have been understandable if I was streaming directly from the music app on my iPad, but since I have access to my library on my Macbook, which seemed weird.  This song in particular had been torn from a CD under ALAC format somewhere in the ballpark of 900 kbps bitrate.

  So I went back to my MBP and pulled up in my library - I had played several songs from this album even and only downloaded one.  All the songs that were played were replaced by 256 Kbps protected AAC files.

  Why it's important - iTunes game has been around for several years.  I recently upgraded to it because I had to - I wanted to try the Apple music, and you can't do it, without activating the iCloud, iTunes game aka sharing.  Long ago, I was in College and knew "everything" we were downloading MP3s as fast as our dial-up connections and Napster let us.  It dawned on me that the digital music would be the future, so I ripped all my CDs on my computer (and horribly low flows).  Now I have a nice stereo and can really enjoy the difference between compressed and uncompressed music - granted my ears are not enough to hear a significant difference between 44.1 kHz/16-bit music and audio files of 192 kHz/24-bit Hi Res discern. Having said that, I started to buy my music library in some cases for the third time.  I buy CDs and their extraction in my iTunes as the ALAC files library.  At least until iTunes deems necessary to convert these files down to me.

  So I guess what I'm asking is - is there a way to get around this or am I just wasting my time with music from Apple and iTunes game? Implement a second library of songs only lossless would be a solution? Is it possible to include only one of my libraries in iTunes game?  Must I give up my wish that I can do everything in iTunes and move my library to something like JRiver Media Center?

  For what it worth - I just shot to the top of the album in the Finder and the original file is always there, it is has been replaced by the lower bitrate file in the iTunes window.
