6300 pro, XP & AHCI

I have a HP 6300 Pro workstation.  I am building an image of XP SP3.  I changed the storage IDE, installed the o/s and all the drivers and took an Acronis image.  I'm at the point where I want to load the driver AHCI and flip the BIOS default settings.

I did for the Pro 6000 and 6200 Pro, but can't seem to find the right driver for the 6300.  The AHCI 6200 driver does not work.  I can't find the model of the motherboard Intel pull it out of the Intel site.  Can someone help or instructions on your work-around?  It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

After the help of Paul_Tikkanen, we were able to find the right driver.

First, go here and read the thread with detailed instructions for the 6200 Pro.  Read the steps.

http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-operating-systems/Windows-XP-downgrade-on-HP-Compaq-6200-Pro-LK601LT/TD-p/986531/page/2

Then, use the driver from here, as in Paul's tutorial in the link above (second option):

http://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y&DwnldID=21408&lang=eng&OSVersion=&DownloadType

And finally, select this driver in the list:

Intel (r) 7 series/C216 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller

I hope this helps.

I have a question involving a HP 6300 Pro SFF that has been repeatedly and intermittently closing, although several major components were replaced and the PC has been reimagee.  I wonder what I missed and am looking for advice on what to try next.  Through independent and one-at-a-time technician, we replaced the motherboard, RAM modules, the hard drive and power supply.  I ordered but not yet installed a replacement CPU, even if it tests the 'good' through the latest UEFI.   Interesting thing about the trial of the UEFI for the motherboard, verification of jury system says "Device not found", but goes in the log file.  This result occurred in the original and the replacement motherboard.  I also restored to the course in ways that we don't normally do, replacing the mouse, keyboard, AC, the power surge suppressor cable, moved the PC to another place, I tried different taken CA, put it on a UPS or not, clean the CPU and reapply the thermal paste, the relocation of the RAM, etc.  We have several thousand of these units in our company and just this Wednesday, we received another call on another site where a Pro SFF 6300 has been shut unexpectedly on the client.  We have immediately made by the Distributor OEM for my machine to fix through the process responsible for itself and that's what I tried to do, but in this case the most recent I sent as a return to the Distributor OEM for analysis or investigation.  I have not had a technician HP come on site or called HP support, but this will be the final step available to us if the replacement of the CPU also fails.  Any suggestions?

When I pull the latch, the rear of the frame folds inward and the latch will not release. Someone has any advice on how to unlock these?

The best answer I got from another forum is to shoot the main part of the case (pliers with tapered beak hanging in the locking ring got me the best results) while lifting simultaneously the release handle on the side panel. Not 100% effective, but he did unlock about 90% of my problem machines.

  • XP Pro SP3 + AHCI Recovery Console

    Hello

I spent the better part of 2 days crawling to these forums and others looking for an answer to this simple question:

I have XP Pro SP3 pc on which once install the CMDCONS Recovery Console, the machine BSOD with an 0X0000007B stop Code when you try to access the Recovery Console. Normal Windows always starts very well.

I know without doubt that this is caused by the likely AHCI drivers being does not natively part of installing Windows CMDCONS.

I do not wish to have the BIOS changed mode Legacy or IDE, and providing the drivers via disk w / the F6 option is so archaic that it's really sad.

Can someone tell me please how to enter AHCI support in the Recovery Console, so it can run just as it should?

    Thank you

It is unlikely to work because you will probably need to install a wifi x 1 low-profile PCIe card (low profile).

The wifi card, on which you are curious is full height and it will not be enough space in you case of OC.

  • HP Compaq Pro 6300 all-in - One desktop PC Touch Panel does not

I have a new HP Compaq 6300 Pro all-in-one desktop PC. It came with Windows 7 32 bit preinstalled, but I wanted to Win 7 64 bit so I had to do a clean install and therefore lost all my drivers.

I was able to get most of the drivers I need HP driver download page for my specific model, but the touch screen under the screen no longer works. It certainly worked until I changed the operating system. To clarify, this is a sign of close contact under the screen that allows you to mute sound, change the volume or change the brightness. The control panel items are invisible until you touch it, how the options - this feature still works. They light up, but do nothing for the levels of noise or the brightness.

I don't know much about the drivers, but this seems to be a driver for me problem. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could get the touch screen works again, because it is an interesting possibility, I'd like to be able to use.

    Thanks in advance.

Hey, no one has responded to my request, but just Serendipity led me to the solution, so I'll post it here in case someone else has the same problem.

In his search for information about installing additional RAM memory, I found myself in the correct name of the touch screen, I had a problem with: capacitive controls, aka buttons capsense. Once I got the correct term was a few seconds before I got the solution, see:

HP all-in-one control panel Button for Windows Support

According to the HP support page, the little softPaq provided "patches a question wherein Capsense buttons (mute, Mic, theft and theft down) of your computer do not work after manually installing a version of Windows", reinsert the necessary registry key.

The softPaq (sp60481.exe) worked well for Windows 7 64 bit on my HP Compaq Pro 6300 all-in-one and I am very happy to have this cool touchscreen works again.

I would also like to know bonus how much GB of memory, I can max this out at?

    Thanks for the help.

    Hello:

I would recommend the Radeon HD 6450 low profile card with low profile mounting support for this model, which, incidentally, is a 6005 pro, not a Pro 6500.

HP is currently only 6300 Pro Series competition.

Personally, I like the fanless models but in a SFF case, according to me, that you really do need a fan to push the heat out of there more quickly that a passive heat sink can, but it's up to you.

These video cards are optionally on the HP SFF equipments 6200 Pro that has the same 240 W P/S as yours.

  • Activate the AHCI in Windows 8 / BIOS - HP Envy Sleekbook 6 - 1153eo

    Greetings,

    My computer:

    HP Envy Sleekbook 6 - 1153eo

    Windows 8 Pro

AHCI is currently disabled on my computer and I want to get the best performance out of it. It can be enabled easily through the windows registry, but to get this to work I need to be sure that the AHCI is currently enabled in the BIOS as well. When I enter the BIOS it's not just all advanced options available, only the time and date and other bases. How can I know weather or not that AHCI is enabled in the BIOS? How can I access the advanced options in the BIOS to turn on the AHCI (if it is not already turned on, that is)?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

    th0d

    Hello:

The BIOS of HP notebooks of consumption made in recent years is already set to AHCI, and it cannot be changed to any other setting.

In some models that offer two hard drives, the default value of the BIOS can be on the RAID.

Computers to only HP business notebooks have a BIOS setting to change the controller in AHCI or IDE mode.

Go to Device Manager and expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers section and you should see a speed control that is listed as a SATA AHCI controller.

In the case of AMD laptops, it can just be tagged as a SATA controller.

  • On a displayport screen colors are washed out

    Hello

I have a user who is running a HP Compaq SFF 6300 Pro and Windows 7 Pro, all of the latest patches.  We have set a second monitor to the display port using an adapter VGA DisplayPort cable / and the image is washed out.  Gray things clear looko on white look on the displayport VGA port.  I tried three different monitors, two HP L1911 and a L1910.  All look the same, washed on the displayport, but look good on the VGA port.

I also tried two displayport different VGA adapters.  The adapters are HP DisplayPort / VGA adapters, p/n: 752661-001, recently purchased.

Any suggestions?  We tried to play with the settings of the monitor, but he could not do better.  Are there settings in the system that I should try?  Different drivers maybe?

    Thanks in advance,

    Linn

Resolved, I have think (?)... Talked to HP Technical Support and it turns out that the HP DisplayPort adapter we sold is not compatible with computers of model we have, go figure.  Never would have guessed that an adapter like this one could have problems of compatibility beyond the types of connector.

Shot of an old adapter from a different computer on the same model and it is much better.

Now wait on my seller to return to me on an Exchange.

  • U2414H DP 1.2 STD questions

    Hello

I have exactly the same problem with 3 monitors U2414H.

    P25 User Guide:

"To allow the connection of STDS, Please use only DP cable such as estimated in the box (or) other DP1.2 certified by cable and change the RFP DP1.2 setting by following the steps below:

There is no DP > cable DP in the box, only a CDM > DP.

Cable to connect the DP STD monitor shows the first image can be found in the RFP (NO CDM) of the first monitor.  (Which is the opposite of the connecting cable DisplayPort (Mini-DP DP) black P24)

The PC is an HP 6300 Pro running an AMD Radeon HD card 7450 DP - it will not detect the monitor as having STD available.

Do I have to go buy another RFP > RFP cable?

    rod_bunny,
    Our cable should suffice.

In a monitor three DP MST parameters, only the first and the second monitor in the chain would be DP active 1.2 in the OSD.

    Computer monitor 1
computer card video DP or CDM on--> monitor 1 DP or CDM in via the Dell mDP to DP cable

    Monitor 1 monitor 2
Monitor 1 DP 1.2 MST on--> Dell DP to the CDM cable--> Monitor 2 CDM in

    Monitor 2 monitor 3
Monitor 2 DP 1.2 MST on--> Dell DP to the CDM cable--> Monitor 3 CDM in

Of course, this assumes that the video card and driver are compatible DP 1.2.

  • No AHCI in the BIOS in Satellite Pro A200

I just installed an ssd and would like to change the bios to ahci utility but it is not an area that I am able to do this. the computer is a Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 (psfa1a-003002).

I have to update the BIOS? Where can I get the update and how can I update?

As I know the BIOS update does not offer some additional options. Please check the settings of the BIOS again. In the BIOS options there SATA advanced option and there you can change between compatibility and AHCI mode.

I have it on my P200. It is almost identical machine but 17 and your model 15.

XP and Seven is installed in dual-boot on my laptop and I use EasyBCD to choose which system I want to start.

To start XP, I need to enable "Compatibility" (Controller SATA in BIOS mode) and seven is "AHCI" must be activated.

Is there a way for my two OS was started without making changes in the bios?
Y at - it an update to correct this problem (or alternative)?

    Thank you in advance.
    Marc

Yes you can do it but I'm afraid, you must reinstall Windows XP Home edition m.
Why? Because before beginning to install Windows XP Home edition, you must change it to AHCI mode, launch the installation of Windows XP Home edition and before you start you need to load the SATA driver (via F6 I think).

Long time ago, we have discussed a lot about this on this forum then use the advanced search anc check options other postings on this subject.
