Start-up network on HP Compaq Pro SFF 6300 problems

We use LANDesk Management following the image of our machines when they arrive.  We have just received a new shipment of 6300 Pro and we are unable to get them PXE had.  I'm unfortunately not on the site with workstations.  We get a server timeout of response time when network boot. Technicians are invited to select IPv4 or IPv6.  After selecting the IPv4, it displays:

Check for the presence of media

Media present

On IPv4 PXE boot

Then the computer starts Windows 8 Image of HP.   We have not had this problem with any other Pro 6300 in our environment.  What needs to be changed in the configuration of the BIOS for it to perform a PXE boot correctly again.

HP Compaq Pro 6300

BIOS: 2.85

Found the fix.

  • Problem with the choice of screen update on HP Compaq Pro SFF 6300

My HP Compaq Pro SFF 6300 continuously lists "HP Compaq Business Desktop System BIOS (BIOS K100)" as an element to be updated - even if I chose and installed this update several times.  What is going on?  Thanks for any help or information.

Thanks for the additional information.  I'll follow your advice and simply ignore the request to update.  Leave well enough alone, given that the computer works well at the present time.  Once again, thank you.

  • HP Compaq Pro 6305 SFF (Windows 7 32-bit) - WMI - SetBIOSSetting-> generic failure

When using WMI to configure the BIOS settings to boot the PC after the loss of power, I get generic failure when executing the measures on nine machines got us (HP Compaq Pro SFF 6305). This works very well on older machines (such as HP Compaq 6005 Pro SFF). On the two types of machines, I can run the following command:

    Get-WmiObject - computername [PCNAME] - space namespace root/hp/instrumentedbios - class hp_biosenumeration. where {$_.} Name - eq "after power loss"} | Format-Table name, value - autosize

So I get something like "Off, * on, previous state" (in this case PC should start automatically when the machine is new).

To change this setting, I'm using following command:

(Get-WmiObject - computername [PCNAME] - space namespace root/hp/instrumentedbios - hp_biossettingInterface of the class). SetBiosSetting ("after the loss of power ', 'On' ')

Works fine when HP 6005 [PCNAME], but fails (with generic failure [exact error below]), if I try to do on 6305 model.

Exception call 'SetBIOSSetting': 'generic failure '.
    At line: 1 char: 125
    + (Get-WmiObject-ComputerName - wksp0002a416 - namespace root/hp/instrumentedbios - hp_biossettingInterface of the class). SetBiosSetting< ('after="" power="">
    + CategoryInfo: NotSpecified: ( [], MethodInvocationException)
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId: WMIMethodException

In both cases who is not a 'read only' value (at least according to what turn WMI).

Any idea will be highly appreciated.

If anyone has the same problem, the reason was found.

SetBiosSetting method takes 3 arguments (Name, Value, password). Password argument was optional on old machines. Of the nine, it is mandatory, so valid command would be:

(Get-WmiObject - computername [PCNAME] - space namespace root/hp/instrumentedbios - hp_biossettingInterface of the class). SetBiosSetting ("after the loss of power ', 'On'," ")

  • HP 6300 Pro SFF stops unexpectedly

I have a question involving a HP 6300 Pro SFF that has been repeatedly and intermittently closing, although several major components were replaced and the PC has been reimagee.  I wonder what I missed and am looking for advice on what to try next.  Through independent and one-at-a-time technician, we replaced the motherboard, RAM modules, the hard drive and power supply.  I ordered but not yet installed a replacement CPU, even if it tests the 'good' through the latest UEFI.   Interesting thing about the trial of the UEFI for the motherboard, verification of jury system says "Device not found", but goes in the log file.  This result occurred in the original and the replacement motherboard.  I also restored to the course in ways that we don't normally do, replacing the mouse, keyboard, AC, the power surge suppressor cable, moved the PC to another place, I tried different taken CA, put it on a UPS or not, clean the CPU and reapply the thermal paste, the relocation of the RAM, etc.  We have several thousand of these units in our company and just this Wednesday, we received another call on another site where a Pro SFF 6300 has been shut unexpectedly on the client.  We have immediately made by the Distributor OEM for my machine to fix through the process responsible for itself and that's what I tried to do, but in this case the most recent I sent as a return to the Distributor OEM for analysis or investigation.  I have not had a technician HP come on site or called HP support, but this will be the final step available to us if the replacement of the CPU also fails.  Any suggestions?

    Thank you

I try and speed up my computer, I have a computer dell 531 s this works (vista). Hard drive crashed. I was hopeing I could use something out of it. This is for my HP Compaq 6005 Pro SFF PC, SG972UC #ABA... Thank you... Mike

    Hello:

Compare the specifications of the two models, it seems that the only thing you can use the hard drive, what said you was not good, so it does not work.

The 6005 Pro uses different memory (DDR3) and 531's DDR2, which does not in a DDR3 slot.

The 6005 uses another set of AMD processors and that of your 531 s will not work in the 6005 Pro.

    Hello:

Here's what you need to do... This model has no need to inventory number or serial number change utility...

After entering the Setup by pressing the F10 key, press on Ctrl + A to open additional fields in the security > system menu IDs.

Enter the serial number of your PC inventory and serial number of chassis number.

  • HP Compaq 6200 Pro SFF: Latch door stuck on 6200/6300 Pro SFF

I don't know what my users to my machines, but I received (especially 6200/6300 Pro SFF) computers that I can't open the latch to release for the sidebar being stuck. When I pull the latch, the rear of the frame folds inward and the latch will not release. Someone has any advice on how to unlock these?

The best answer I got from another forum is to shoot the main part of the case (pliers with tapered beak hanging in the locking ring got me the best results) while lifting simultaneously the release handle on the side panel. Not 100% effective, but he did unlock about 90% of my problem machines.

  • Memory / RAM upgrade - the standard issue! -HP Compaq Pro 6300 microtour

    Hello

I intend to increase the RAM in this machine (Microtour HP Compaq Pro 6300) and I'm a bit confused to a specification - latency CASE.

    To start:
I plan to purchase memory from a manufacturer of renowned as Crucial or Corsair and purchase identical sticks to replace the OEM memory.

My understanding of the requirements of CASE latency for this system:
According to the reference guide of the material that was provided with this PC, "the DIMM DDR3-SDRAM modules must also:... to support latency CASE 11 DDR3 1600 MHz (at a date 11/11/11)."

My understanding of the CASE latency spec. offer of products available:

Many kits that I found almost total retail prices are advertised as being "CS7,' 'CS9', or 'CS10 '.  The few kits that I found with latency = announced 11 CASES are much more expensive (+ 20%) that those with CL = 7,9,10 (spend less money without wasting on inoperable RAM is my goal).

    My question (s):

I have to buy memory with a latency announced CASES of 11 cycles?
    -OR-
May memory stick with another announced specification of latency CASE (no CL = 11) function properly with my system?  If so, could it be some additional steps to configure the new installation of memory or any foreseeable to overcome obstacles?

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and respond!
    -Mark T.

In General, purchase memory with lower CASE ribs won't be a problem, as long as the dominant spec (i.e. DDR3-12800) memory and memory voltage specifications match.

If you buy from a name brand as Crucial or Corsair, however, you should probably ask him if they have specifically tailored to your system memory. They have usually memory specifically designed for brand like HP systems, and that would be your best bet to ensure compatibility.
