On a displayport screen colors are washed out

Hello

I have a user who is running a HP Compaq SFF 6300 Pro and Windows 7 Pro, all of the latest patches.  We have set a second monitor to the display port using an adapter VGA DisplayPort cable / and the image is washed out.  Gray things clear looko on white look on the displayport VGA port.  I tried three different monitors, two HP L1911 and a L1910.  All look the same, washed on the displayport, but look good on the VGA port.

I also tried two displayport different VGA adapters.  The adapters are HP DisplayPort / VGA adapters, p/n: 752661-001, recently purchased.

Any suggestions?  We tried to play with the settings of the monitor, but he could not do better.  Are there settings in the system that I should try?  Different drivers maybe?

Thanks in advance,

Linn

Resolved, I have think (?)... Talked to HP Technical Support and it turns out that the HP DisplayPort adapter we sold is not compatible with computers of model we have, go figure.  Never would have guessed that an adapter like this one could have problems of compatibility beyond the types of connector.

Shot of an old adapter from a different computer on the same model and it is much better.

Now wait on my seller to return to me on an Exchange.

The color on my HP Pavilion 15 laptop appears washed out. In addition, despite trying several settings on the 'clear type', my type seems to be blurry nd hard to read. I already tried to adjust the color on the advanced settings, nothing helped. For example, if there is a box around this area to post, I don't see it. I am really frustrated and ready to return after having fought with him for more than a month.

After hours of frustration and try to understand what was wrong. It turns out that when the power settings have been adjusted for energy efficiency, it messed with the color settings and text. I put everything by default and which corrects the problem.

(Maybe the drivers I screwed up when I had sent for repair to the HDD/MoBo). I have not tried a total reset, and yet, it's always such a pain to do a reset to see that it of a hardware fault or not. Any help for a reboot to get my colors and contrast back to normal?

First of all, the only Solution that is available (on the present four), Option 3. None of the other options had these functions), in this Envy 17 laptop.

Although I had found another Option (which maybe you can integrate in Option 5), but remained elusive to me because part of my exploratory solution, the taskbar had large icons and the taskbar hid the 'Next', 'Cancel' buttons on the pages of process,

The simple shortcut to my solution is: Control Panel > display > calibrate color: see 'Welcome to display color calibration.   I went through the correct colors calibrate the color Process andgotmy back.

By default, option 3, transforming the 'sensor Monitor Service' is an employment status empty (early release) illustrated. This option seems to be a 'do nothing option. In my case, I can't thank you for trying, butnone of Options seems to work for me.

    Hello John Eff,.

Thanks for your post.  You happen to have another monitor to test with?  If so, plug another monitor and see if you get the same result.  In this way, we eliminate or isolate the monitor as the problem.

    Hello peruviancutiepie,

The problem may be related to your monitor. This wouldn't have anything to do with your settings in Windows. You will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer to help you solve this problem. This may also be related to a faulty monitor. Your best point of contact for this problem would be to contact the manufacturer of your computer.

    Hello

Have you tried the control panel of the printer calibration?

At the front of the printer, use the left and right arrows to find the "System Setup" menu and press "OK".

Now to find the menu of 'Quality' and press 'OK '.

Find the "Color calibration" menu and press "OK".

Select 'Calibrate now' and press 'OK '.

The printer should spend a minute or two "calibration...". »

You can try to repeat this process two or three times.

  • T410 - washed out colors or lines after waking up from suspend

I have a strange problem with the display on my new Thinkpad T410. I don't know yet how to describe. Red, green and blue still exist, like black and white, but the brightness between the two levels are washed out or banded. I tried to take pictures of some color models to demonstrate.

Most of the time, the screen works as I expect. Sometimes however (especially after waking up from his sleep?) the gray borders around things seem too bright and washed out colors. When this happens, he persists and worsens slowly over time.

If I change the brightness of the screen from top to bottom with Fn + start/end, the effect will change randomly to each pressure, sometimes changing to something even worse, showing a lot of color, strips or almost monochrome, but then to the lesser model, but will always go wrong.

    Not affected by:

    • Change brightness
    • closing cover
    • move to the rear and projection screen
    • locking computer
    • Changing resolution
    • change refresh rate
    • change to 16-bit color
    • tapping or screen rotation

Didn't happen since I installed the new BIOS.

The w2338h myHP when using HDMI, the colors look washed out and show levels of black poor compared to the use of VGA.

I found a solution! I don't know what you have to do in the ATI drivers, but I guess that there is a similar option buried.

The NVIDIA Control Panel, go to "Desktop color Adjust settings" under "view". From there, the "Digital color Format" change RGB to YCbCr444 and voila, your color and black level problems are fixed!

  • How can I fix the color washed out for border to start in Firefox (vs Chrome)?

I created a web page with a very basic table and border-style: first. Attached picture shows three colors ('red', ' #2CC11F ' and ' #22A8D6 ') of this table, and how they appear on the Chrome vs. Firefox (right) (left).

The image is a screenshot taken with Firefox and Chrome on the same monitor.

I tried all combinations of the elements listed in the link here: (http://cameratico.com/guides/firefox-color-management/) and restarted Firefox, every time, but I can't quite simply that it displays only not this border of immediately without looking terrible and washed out.

A solid border seems okay, if it has to do with the borders of departure specifically (and possibly on the tables specifically).

So the problem is that Firefox is to choose shades that are too light compared to Chrome?

I think that you will need to take direct control of the colors of different sides using borders United. For example:

  • HP Color Laserjet 2605dn: Print is washed out/completely wilted on printer 2605dn

We have a Laserjet 2605dn HP color printer has intermittent printing problems. Most of the time, the quality of the printed output is very well, but from time to time, the print quality deteriorates completely. After a while, printing then returned back its normal quality.

The printer is on a network and serves as WIndows XP/7/8/10 and Linux machines as it has throughout his life. He has never had a genuine HP toner cartridges installed. It is not heavily used, we print usually less than 100 pages per week, often less.

The problem is that out of all the colors and black, gets so bad as to be unreadable. The printed output is so washed out it's (almost) impossible to read anything through the entire page. This can happen for all the pages of an entire document, but often it will print the first part of a multipage fine print job and then the quality deteriorates gradually to illegibility. Subsequent print jobs will also sometimes unreadable, but are also likely to print correctly. There seems to be trigger (that we can determine) this behavior or when it will happen well.

While the printer was used for a few years, he printed out a little more than 20 000 pages in total. This leads me to think that age should not be a problem. We replaced all the cartridges, tried recalibration, print cleaning pages, all without success. I found a solution for a problem of fading Magenta also requires cleaning the mirrors, but our problem is not that same as - everything fades to nothing in our printer, it is not a case of a single color fade a little, is much more radical than that.

Suggestions as to how we could solve this problem? Is there additional information that might help diagnose the cause and suggest a fix?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

It looks like I won't get my hands dirty inside this printer after all. The boss decided it would probably be too annoying overall for me (US) to try to fix it. So he decided to buy a new color printer and remove it.

Thanks for the answers to my questions.

Now I just need to find how to mark it as "resolved", or otherwise close it, as appropriate in this forum.

  • color washed out on my Inspiron (7559)

There is something wrong with my colors. I ran a test on Gta V and the sky looks more gray than blue and in general everything is blurry and washed out. I know it, is not the best display, but is something I have never experienced in any screen. What is a driver issue? I installed later.

:-) I would like to replace the screen under warranty.  You will have to go through the hoops a bit.
