64-bit Instant Client on 64-bit SQL Developer 4, do not play together...

Hi all

I installed the 64-bit version of SQL Developer 4 and 64-bit 64-bit Client Instant v12 and I still get the error when I try and open a connection to a database: "C:\Program Files\Oracle\InstantClient\ocijdbc12.dll: 2Can can't load .dll AMD 64 bit on a 32-bit platform of AI. I've been on http://www.thatjeffsmith.com/ nothing works. I also installed the 64-bit version of the full client with the same result. My path is defined on which the client is installed. The first thing in the path variable is the path to the client. Both versions are 64-bit.

I use 12 c database so I have the latest version of InstantClient / customer

Any ideas anyone?

You are using a 64-bit JDK? There is no 64-bit version of SQL Dev, there just SQLDev. If you run it with a 32 bit JDK, then it runs as a 32-bit application.

  • SQL Developer debugger does not start

I found a strange behaviour, while debugging PL/SQL stored procedures using SQL Developer version 4.1.0.19 on Ubunto 12.04 LTS. The debugger works fine for all the bases of my company, except one. When I start a debugging session in this database, the debbuger let go forever and never debug dialog box open. When I use another IDE, for example, PL/SQL Developer of AllroundAutomations on Windows 7, the debugger works very well. I used the same user database with all necessary Preobrajensky. First I thought it was a bad configuration of the database, but as I could start with another IDE debugging sessions, I think that this is not the case. So, I would like to know if someone could help me understand what is happening.

Captura de tela de 2015-05-12 17:09:15.png

We opened a request for support at Oracle and they offer us to turn on an earlier version of the debugger to work around the problem:

Add at the end of the file line-by-line ide.properties:

    DatabaseDebuggerDisableJDWP=true

The ide.properties file can be found here (on Windows XP):

    C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\SQL Developer\system${VERSION} \o.sqldeveloper${SYSTEM_VERSION}

    or here (on Windows 7):

    C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\SQL Developer\system${VERSION} \o.sqldeveloper.${SYSTEM_VERSION}

    for Linux users:

    $HOME/.sqldeveloper/system${VERSION}/o.sqldeveloper.${SYSTEM_VERSION}/ide.properties

    It works!

  • Extension of SQL Developer Java does not

    Hello

I developed a small extension of Java to start the SQL Developer via command line and put some parameters such as the server name, user and password to create a connection when you start.

THS connection will be deleted when closing.

This extension was working fine until the 3.0.2 version and does not work with version 4.0.2.

My question: are there changes in the load of an extension?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

This extension was working fine until the 3.0.2 version and does not work with version 4.0.2.

My question: are there changes in the load of an extension?

Yes - there are MAJOR changes and they include the use of "lazy" loading of extensions.

See note on the main page of Oracle extension exchange.

http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/SQL-Developer/Extensions-083825.html Special Note regarding Extensions developed prior to SQL

    Developer v4.0:

With the new version of SQL Developer 4.0, an extension that was written for an earlier version of the SQL Developer will no longer work. Developer SQL is based on the JDeveloper Framework. We have updated the framework to be up-to-date with the JDeveloper 12 c version. With JDeveloper 11 g 2, they switched to an OSGI framework. The JDeveloper team issued instructions to update your extensions to be compatible with the new framework and SQL v4.0 developer.

Note that first sentence than the previous expansions 'won't work' If you use them in 4.x

It also appears to be bugs or incompatibilities between the extension of JDeveloper published SDK and the "new" version Sql Dev 4.x uses. The public is 12.1.2, and is one that is available for download for use in the development of an extension. SQL Dev uses version 12.1.3 and who has NOT yet been published.

I have a new thread posted recently to ask about any aspect of this compatibility, but have not yet had all the answers:

    https://community.Oracle.com/thread/3570408

A few simple extensions, perhaps yours, may only need a small change in the file "extension.xml" use appropriate brackets.

Other extensions will require additional changes. One of the main changes is the new ESDK of "lazy" loading of extensions use.

Some additional info is available on the Java.net site:

Are there conflicts known with pre 9 and Windows 7 64-bit? I have a .mpg made with pre 9 when it was installed on Vista 32 bit. Now I have this imported file 9 pre installed on Win 7 64 bit and the movie does not play in preview/edit window. It is just statically.

I checked online and downloaded all the recent updates, don't know what else to do at this point. Thank you if you have any info on it.

I am pleased that the updated video driver fixed things for you. It's amazing to see how the update to the correct video driver can solve so much. Pre, unlike most other programs, really closely interfaces with both video and audio drivers. On the only other programs who are extreme games, heavy 3D and CAD applications.

In addition, if a machine is used for two extreme games and video editing, sometimes an application settings, perhaps not the correct one for another.

  • Installation of Oracle SQL Developer and Java

I finished installing the Oracle Client without problems. SQL Developer opened for the first time and he asks me the full path Java.exe.

That's fine, but when I entered the java.exe I just don't ask again, no errors. Repeat to infinity.

I have the most recent Java SDK installed and tried the 32-bit and 64-bit versions (jdk 7u4). I even tried to install Oracle Client version 11.1.0 AND 11.2.0 to see if that makes a difference, but it is all the same.

    Documentation:

    Ideas:

    -Do not use java7
    -Use JDK JRE not
-On widows, there is a version of SQLDeveloper, including jdk 6 java
-Instant client is not necessary - but if you want to use use at least 11.2.0.2
-SetJavaHome updated to sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.conf to point to the JDK
-There is some confusion about 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems, java and SQLDeveloper, you can search the forum for more details, for example: put on the title: "Unable to start Oracle SQL Developer.

  • Install SQL develop 3 damaged by 11gXE.

As indicated in the documentation, before installing the 11gXE, I installed Oracle SQL Developer 3.
I started it upward, connections from my 2.1 version and had a look.
Everything seemed normal (I made connections to several databases (Enterprise edition) on different servers and managed to access the tables etc.).

    Then I installed 11gXE.

Now when I open Oracle SQL Developer 3 once again, the browser (listing the connections and access to objects) has disappeared, while the following errors are displayed:
    Sequence Source Message elapsed level
SEVERUS started 41 2172 oracle.ide.IdeCore Exception mainWindowOpened to oracle.dbtools.raptor.oviewer.base.NavSelectionListener$L@1e1c034 fire
34 0 SEVERUS was unable to create the add-in oracle.dbtools.raptor.timesten.TTAddin

Obviously the first is what worries me.

Then, I tried to start my previous version 2.1, resulting in similar error messages and no browser as well! = > Panic.

According to the browser connection is missing and Exceptions in SQL Developer
I deleted the folder of application data to the version 3 (C:\Documents and Settings\jvdb\Application Developer\system3.0.03.97 Data\SQL), leaving all others (system2.1.1.64.39, system2.1.0.63.73 and system1.5.5.59.69).
Version 3 is restarted, the import window is presented, as expected. The import seems to run OK (just as he did on the first installation, after which all right). But once the developer SQL began, Bank error and still no browser.

It's on Winblows XP, 32-bit; SQL developer package downloaded including the JRE.

This message was also posted in the sql_dev section.

This could be expected by the documentation, the Readme (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17781_01/doc.112/e21743/toc.htm#CIAIAGJA).

"... Connections navigator completely unavailable in SQL Developer"- which seem to correspond to what you are experiencing.

The same doc basically said previous versions must be removed before continuing.
In addition to 2.1, it seems as you have a version of EA (3.0.03.97) of SQL Developer, not the GA or final 3.0 (3.0.04.34, I think).

If you remove any reinstall, is the issue still appear?

  • Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler start error

    Hi all

I just downloaded Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeling (2.0.0.57.0) [released July 1, 2009] by selecting the option ' Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler for Windows (this zip file contains the JRE).

After that I installed the same and tried to start clicking on datamodeler.exe, I get the following error message

"Failed to create an instance of the JVM on the path:... \jdk\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll.

On the same machine, I can successfully run the SQL Oracle program without error. My machine is having Windows XP Professional SP3.

Any ideas? If there is a problem with Java, that of the Oracle SQL Developer should also not run. But as I said it runs with any error, but the Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler gives the above error.

    Kind regards

    Hey Jawad,

you wrote you have 960 MB of RAM - how did you do a test with 1.5 MB of RAM and 2 MB of RAM?
No doubt this is a problem of memory - memory change in the datamodeler.conf file option:
    -There 'AddVMOption-Xmx768M"by default; to take
-"AddVMOption-Xmx512M" or never, making it suitable for your configuration - you can check the available free memory first.

  • create a new user with password expire - problem SQL Developer

    Hi people,

I use RDBMS 11.2.x on Solaris and Linux, and in the face of a problem that I hope someone can help me with.

Our policy is to create a new account with a temporary password and force them to reset the password at the first login.

    Therefore, I use: "create user < username > identified by < user > password expire...» »

The problem is that many users use Oracle SQL Developer and do not have access to SQL * more.

When I user logs in the database for the first time in SQL Developer, he just tells them that the account is locked.

It does not say the password is expired, and it does not give them a way to change this (that I can find it).

I'm not familiar with SQL Developer and hoped for someone who has had a similar problem can offer some suggestions.

    Thank you.

  • A few shorcomings SQL Developer

    Hello

I use SQL Developer Version 1.5.3. I used the previous version as well. I want to thank the team of SQL Developer for providing such a nice tool, in particular Version 1.5.3.

However some gaps in SQL Developer, I've lived from TOAD are

    1. If a script stored on disk file is compiled using Toad, then the editor immediately points to the error line, if the script file has a. However, in the case of SQL Developer, he is not pointing error line. It shows only that the package/procedure compiled with warnings. Warnings/errors and where are they in the script file, which is not indicated by the editor. If this functionality is provided in SQL developer, it will be more complete.

    2. them is of no use to compare files. It is often necessary to compare files in development against the file in the prod environment. This functionality is provided in Toad and lack in SQL Developer.

Please consider the two feature above in future releases.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Sandeep G.

1 is planned for 2.0 (as for the feature request more vote on the Exchange)
2 can be done since the 1.5: between the different versions of the same file (using the file editor), or even between different files (using the file browser)

    Kind regards
