PL/SQL in Sql Developer 4 script, works not sqlplus command line.

Hello guys, Xev here.

I hope I meet new people there into that in this space. I hope this is the appropriate space to ask this, I see that others have asked about sqlplus and they where permitted to post...

I have a pl/sql script that runs in sql developer 4, but the exact same script will not run in the sqlplus command line?

When I run the script, it gives me this, but as you can see with this script that works fine with sql developer, he is not running sqlplus command line.

  • VBS script does not have command line parameters

    Suddenly the VBS scripts that I use for several years is no longer work correctly on Windows 7.  By "suddenly" I mean they worked Wednesday and do not work on Friday, two days later.  There were / are two incidents:

    First of all, the program default for the extension VBS WScript to CScript changed.  CScript would scripts pretty well, except that my scripts are designed to run in debug mode under CScript, with many calls MsgBox, and I need them to run unattended.

    So I re-associated .vbs WScript.  Now the question is that WScript.Arguments.Count always returns 0 even when the script is invoked with command-line parameters.  I checked with the command FTYPE that Windows is configured to pass arguments to WScript:

    C:\>Assoc .vbs
    .vbs = VBSFile

    C:\>ftype VBSFile
    VBSFile="%SystemRoot%\System32\WScript.exe" "%1" % *.

    It's as if a Windows Update has suddenly dropped support for the %

    If anyone else has noticed this?  I can't go to CScript - I wrote dozens of scripts that I designed to behave differently under CScript or WScript.

    OS = Win 7 Pro 64-bit SP1

    In the meantime, I'm going to see events in the event viewer to see if this box received updates, MS or otherwise.

    Thank you for responding.  The content of the registry that you have provided is almost identical to one that I exported from a work computer.  The only difference was in the placement of the @= line "VBScript Script file", so I tried to import them both.  No one changed the behavior.

    Fortunately, this isn't a problem only when I need to type command-line parameters.  So I also tape "WScript" before the name of the script before you press Enter.

    I don't think I'll do more to solve problems, but I'll keep trying all the answers in this thread that look promising.

    Hello
    Check this key?

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.vbs

    You can export and send the content here. The value under "UserChoice" is most likely the culprit. And remove "UserChoice" key should straighten this issue.

  • Path of J2SE for SQL Developer

    I downloaded and installed SQL Developer 3.0 (JDK not included) for Linux under the guidance of the Oracle download page. The page advises that JDK 1.6.0_11 or higher must be installed.
    Java $-version responds:
    Java version "1.6.0_20.
    OpenJDK (IcedTea6 1.9.9) runtime environment (fedora - 54.1.9.9.fc14 - x86_64)
    OpenJDK 64-bit Server VM (build 19, 0 - b09, mixed mode)

    I already suitable JDK installed? And if so, how do I determine the full path?

    When I run the script/opt/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper/bin/sqldevqloper for the first time, it prompts to enter the full path of an installation of J2SE. Am I being asked for a path to my JDK installation? I don't know what you must specify the path, and the use of SQL Developer guide is silent on how to identify this path. Or what I need to install something else until I get SQL Developer to work?

    My background is Oracle DBA, not Java, so I find all of these JDK/JRE/J2SE very confusing stuff. Can someone help with specific instructions on what I need to do to get this product to work?

    TIA,

    I don't know if OpenJDK is supported. It may be better to download the JDK official Sun (oracle).

  • Problem with SQL Developer to capture

    Hi guys,.

    I am facing a problem for the last 4 days with SQL Developer. I use to migrate sql database to oracle SQL Developer. It worked well before and I had migrated some tables as well. But all of a sudden a few days before I had a mistake, I was unable to capture the objects. While I am trying to capture the sql database or the tables the progress dialog box is displayed as usual, but he suddenly gets hit and the green light turns red which is in the upper left corner. Said at that time, the progress message that appears at the bottom of the box +' stored jdbc:jtds:sqlserver: / / < hostname >: < port > / < the database name > ' +. But if I use another oracle server, then I can capture objects.

    Because of this error, I'm not able to go forward. I tried to solve this problem in many ways. But nothing helps! Please help me solve this problem, as it's an emergency.

    Thanks in advance.

    You can use the method of capture in offline mode:
    Click on tools-> Migration-> third party database offline Capture-> Capture database creation scripts
    Now select the output directory of these scripts and the source database. Also, make sure that you have selected the Batch mode. Once this is done, copy all scripts on a computer with an installed SQL Server client or perform the export on the SQL Server computer directly.
    Run the script and you'll get 2 directories with a couple of DAT files created. ALL switch to SQL Developer machine and load them into the SQL Developer
    Click on tools-> Migration-> third party database offline Capture-> Capture Script output load of database

  • SQL Developer to crash at startup.

    I made several attempts using different versions of SQL Developer and different versions of Java on the machine with Microsoft Windows 8.1 Build Enterprise (x 64) 9600.

    sqldeveloper - 4.0.1.14.48 - no - jre.zip 235,385,812

    sqldeveloper - 4.1.2.20.64 - no - jre.zip 329,066,864

    sqldeveloper - 4.1.2.20.64 - x 64.zip 399,957,535

    sqldeveloper64 - 3.0.04.34 - no - jre.zip 154,645,086

    sqldeveloper64 - 3.2.20.09.87 - no - jre.zip 182,052,469

    sqldeveloper - 4.1.3.20.78 - no - jre.zip 331,401,110

    Example of process:

    (1) files extracted to sqldeveloper - 4.1.2.20.64 - no - jre.zip

    (2) run sqldeveloper

    (3) window appears asking you to JDK home - click 'Browse '.

    (4) access to the Java/jdk1.8.0_65 - click on "select a folder.

    (5) confirm the path with "OK".

    (6) beginning of the program - the start screen flashes on the screen, but for a short period of time (tenths of a second).

    (7) nothing else is happening.

    (8) for execution sqldeveloper again not questions about the JDK. All splash screen (once again just flash).

    (9) in the Manager of tasks (details) I see for about a half second the process 'sqldeveloper64W.exe '.

    I've tried combinations of different JDK and version of the SQL Developer - some versions display warning on the supported Java versions.

    The latest version I managed to run (ignoring warning) 3.2.20.09 has been building hand - 09.87 using java jdk1.8.0_65.

    No luck with all versions 4 +.

    I also tried to collect debugging information as described in http://www.thatjeffsmith.com/archive/2012/06/how-to-collect-debug-info-for-oracle-sql-developer/

    First attempt was unsuccessful - screen displayed for the second half and then again in line with command prompt is displayed in the CMD window.

    I tried several times and finally was fast enough to press ctr + pause/break in this short time.

    I tried it with versions 4.1.2.20.64 and 4.1.3.20.78. The latest is here:

    Concerning

    Location of these files can cause problems? It does not prevent SQL Developer 3.2 work.

    Apparently. Director of the company may shed some light on why this is true. In practice, you can try to force the SQL Developer user settings in a local folder that is writable, discutΘ in: problem starting sql developer 4.1.1.19.59

    For convenience, here's an excerpt.  Use your 4.1.3.20.78x64 installation.  Choose a path to a local folder, even one on a flash drive.  Should work.

    Add something like this line to the file sqldeveloper.conf to your installation:

    AddVMOption - Dide.user.dir =

  • Non-Oracle DB with SQL Developer

    I wonder if any body knows if the SQL Developer "Requester" can work with databases non-Oracle? (using connection drivers we can connect to a database)

    I have to work with Teradata now, but the Oracle tool was perfect for me, now I want to use this tool to make complex queries.

    Any advise?

    I remember well, version 3.0, SQL Developer under license from a third-party tool (see ActiveQueryBuilder.jar) to replace the old Query Builder.  This tool offers support for several flavors of SQL on several RDBMS platforms.  The problem was, our team began to hear about problems with the query designer on the Oracle RDBMS as well as issues with more complex Oracle SQL queries which does not correctly handle the third-party tool.

    For various reasons, including limited control on bug fixing by the third party and emphasizing the support of third-party RDBMS Oracle migration, it was decided to take the position Query Builder provided as a tool for Oracle SQL non-expert programmers.

    I do not exactly remember when support for Oracle NON-SQL got off, but you can start with the 3.2.2 version to see if that allows him to always...

    SQL Developer downloads version 3.2.2

    .. .and chain backwards (see the link at the bottom of the page) to a previous version if necessary.

    Hope this helps,

  • Explain the Plan in SQL Developer vs SQLPlus

    Hello world

    I have a small question. Why a plan explain blocking in SQL Developer but return immediately in sqlplus?

    For example, in SQL developer, I write my statement and use the F6 command to bring up the plan to explain it and just, it hangs and crashes. It seems he's trying to produce a plan to explain, but it worked for hours now.

    When I log into SQL Plus, I do a
    SQL> explain plan for <query>:
    SQL> select * from table(dbms_xplan.display);
    The whole process takes less than a minute to get the plan of the explain command.

    Is there something fundamentally different running through SQL Developer?

    Thank you!

    -Joe

    Joe,

    F6 in SQL Developer runs an AutoTrace, which is currently running the SQL and also shows schedules and terms of the explain command. If you only want the plan of the explain command, use F10.

    Kind regards
    Bob

  • SQL Loader on Sql Developer

    How can I use sqlldr on SQL Developer version 4.0.2.15 command.

    Now I'm able to use this command via the command prompt, but my requirement is that use this command on SQL Developer.

    SQL * Loader is an external standalone tool, not a SQL or PL/SQL command.

    Ask how to run through SQL Developer, that's like asking the execution of MS Word through SQL Developer, i.e. it is not really meaningful.

    SQL * Developer, to the best of my knowledge, incorporates some built in options for loading data or extraction of data to CSV files, so maybe you want to just use those?

  • Oracle SQL Developer 4.0.2 (4.0.2.15.21) missing ututil in bin files

    I downloaded the Oracle SQL Developer 4.0.2 (4.0.2.15.21)... It comes with JDK... I can't find the files ututil.sh and ututi.bat in sqldeveloper/bin? Any ideas?...

    Hey, Jeff Smith. Thanks for the reply.

    It looks not like command line utility call unit tests was changed to 4.0.2 compared to 3.0.

    Can you please give me some reference documents I can to understand how to run utilities UTUTIL 4.0.2 version. ? Jeff Smith Sqldev Pm-Oracle

  • Using sql developer

    Hello

    I have mysql on a server and oracle on other sever (both under linux). I want to migrate data from mysql to oracle using sql Developer installed on another remote computer. What are the neccessities base that I have to keep in mind in this regard, or should I just use the installed with oracle sql developer.

    I do not have the required display variables defined on the oracle server and also an older version of sqldeveloper is installed with oracle. I think installing the latest version of sql developer on windows platform and then want to access the database on linux machines.
    Please notify.

    Thanx

    Download the latest developer SQL on your PC. Enable your firewall rules accept connections from your PC to the database port (usually 1521 - Oracle, 3306 - MySQL).
    Establish a connection with your data (assuming that the privileges are sorted) and start the migration.
    Note: For MySQL, you will need to download third party connector (a quick Google and you'll find the download and installation instructions).

    You already have the URL for the migration.

  • SQL Developer Version 3.0.02 really slow to produce results

    Hello

    Hoping someone can point me in the right direction here as a SQL Developer on my machine is so slow, that it is virtually unusable (it was not as bad in previous versions but it is possible, that I also have a new JDK since). I open a connection to an Oracle database and the simple type:

    Select a_column a_table where a_column = 1

    and click on the green triangle (ctrl + enter). The green triangle and the icons of commit / rollback are going gray and I start counting the seconds rough. I arrive at 30 before the result is displayed and I can do anything and yet it says:

    All of the lines read: seconds 1 to 0.002

    In sqlplus the exact same query returns immediately. I added - J - Dsdev.insight = false to the command line (as it may slow down the Oracle SQL Developer) but this did not help. I'm running Linux Ubuntu 10.10 with
    3353400 KB of memory according to cat/proc/meminfo and my ~/sqldeveloper/jdk file contains:

    /usr/lib/JVM/Java-6-Sun-1.6.0.24

    quality shows:

    PID USER PR NOR VIRT RES SHR S % CPU % MEM TIME + COMMAND
    8143 martin 20 0 947 m 462 m 28 m S 6:39.68 2 14.1 java

    and this is the only java program I am running.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Martin

    Yes, there were "dark ages" for the performance of the SQL Dev queries from 30EA1 and 30EA2 (3.0.02).
    He said that re-encoding on SQL history was to blame for this.
    Unfortunately, there is no satisfactory solution for these versions.
    Try at least 30EA3 and better to have production 3.0 a.

    Kind regards

  • Call the SQL of a script problem

    Hello
    I have a script for example query.sh:
    #! / bin/sh
    sqlplus-s ${ORACLE_USER} < < HIC
    set the position
    NewPage set to none

    SELECT 'ALTER TABLE' |' TEST_TABLE' | 'ADD PARTITION' |' P' | To_char (trunc (sysdate + 7), "IYYY"). » W'|| To_char (trunc (sysdate + 7), 'IW') | ' VALUES LESS (TO_DATE('''||) To_char (sysdate + 14, 'YYYYMMDD') | " ((', "YYYYMMDD")); "FROM DUAL;
    output
    HIC

    This will actually give me: ALTER TABLE TEST_TABLE add PARTITION P2010W46 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE('20101122','yyyymmdd'));

    I'll do this output of the second script. for example create_part.sh

    #! / bin/sh

    SQL='/home/Bill/scripts/query.sh'

    sqlplus ${ORACLE_USER} < < EOF
    Set serveroutput size 1000000
    set the position

    $SQL

    output
    FO %

    When I run the 2nd script I get:

    SQL > SQL > SQL > SQL 2 > ALTER TABLE test_table add a SCORE from P2010W46 LESS THAN VALUES (TO_DATE ('20101122 ',' yyy))
    *
    ERROR on line 1:
    ORA-01861: literal does not match the format string

    I suspect that the output of the 1st script encapsulates a second line, and it defective runs correctly.

    East of Oracle 9i

    Please suggest a way to overcome this problem.

    Thank you in advance.

    In the first script, add the VALUE LINESIZE 1000

  • RMAN script does not work as a cron job, but works when explicitly executed

    Oracle 10 g 2 10.2.0.1, Oracle Enterprise Linux 4 U7.

    I've added a task to crontab of the oracle user who looks like the following:
    #ORACLE_HOME,ORACLE_SID and PATH are set in the user's profie
    TAG=`date|awk '{print $1"_"$2"_"$3}'| tr [:lower:] [:upper:]`

    echo "backup started on`date` "> /home/oracle/rman.log

    rman target / LOG='/home/oracle/rman_run.log' << EOF

    run{

    sql 'aler system switch logfile';
    backup full database tag='$TAG' include current controlfile;
    delete noprompt obsolete;

    }
    exit;
    EOF

    echo "rman finished, returned $? " >> /home/oracle/rman.log
    echo "Backup ended on `date` " >> /home/oracle/rman.log
    the tracks work as expected but the rman command never works the inside of cron, it always returns code 1, but if I call the script itself from the command line
    It works smoothly and the backup is performed.

    what I am doing wrong?

    what I am doing wrong?

    no no no ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID is defined in script
    The script does not source in the script of environmental requirements

    env | Tri o /tmp/capture.env

    above indicates how deficient the script environment cron is really
