643 error when upgrading from Windows Vista
The problem could be that you need you to update Windows Installer:
http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=8483
Install and after rebooting your computer, try Windows Update again.
I tried to download the files on the page of the links you provided and the downloader has indicated that none of them would work with my system. I clicked on all the links on this page indicate suitable for Windows Vista.

Attempt to upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7
I try to update my Windows Vista to Windows 7. I bought to download the rom update the Microsoft store and downloaded, but when I try to start the upgrade I have a stateing message that it is impossible to create or save new files in the folder where it was downloaded. I checked the security permissions in the file and made sure that no programs are 'read only', but it won't always go beyond this point!
Hello
What is the edition of Windows Vista installed on the computer?Make sure that you upgrade to the correct version, some versions of Windows cannot be upgraded with the installation disc you are trying to use. For example, you cannot upgrade a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version, or upgrade a higher edition of Windows like Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, to a lower edition, such as Windows 7 Edition Home Premium. If this is the case, you will need to use the custom during installation option.
Before you attempt to upgrade, please run the Windows 7 upgrade Advisor:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor
Also, check if your computer is compatible for Windows 7, using the Compatibility Center:

Pavilion DV6 - 1247CL upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 8. 1
I want to improve my Pavilion DV6 - 1247 CL Windows Vista at Windows 8. 1. I read on the site of Microsoft support that the only way to upgrade Vista to Windows 8.1 must do a clean install of DVD. Will I have problems with the HP drivers, etc... ? If so, what should I do to avoid these problems?
Yes there is no direct upgrade path from Vista to Windows 8. 1. I provide a counterpoint here. Your laptop is powerful enough to run Windows 8/8.1 and I bet all the drivers work just very rare possible exceptions that will be easy to fix. I would say what you can do to give up Vista is a good thing. You might want to consider Windows 7 as an alternative, but all that will take place in 7 runs generally 8/8.1.
