6509

The MSDS on the PXI-6509 is a little vague: the 6509 does support individual pins to be declared sort (Hi-Z)?

You can't tristate individual lines, instead, to work with the ports, as described in the following article: why can not I Tristate my NI 6509 digital lines? I hope this helps

  • E/s PCI-6509 direction bit by bit

I am writing to the low-level code to use the card PCI-6509.  I already did it for the PCIe-6509.  However, the code DDK, I downloaded doesn't seem to allow me to select the input/output direction of an individual bit... it seems to be in groups of 8 - bit only.  My understanding is that the PCI-6509 Board is supposed to allow individual control, I/O direction (as does the Commission PCIe).  Can someone help me.

    Thank you.

    Hi Jwstonge

Unfortunately, the 6509 PCI Variant can be configured port-to-port, not line-by-line.

Ce Ko gives a list of what devices are supported online configuration.

The PCIe-6509 is built on a different architecture than the other form factors.

  • PCIe-6509 register level programming: cannot access the ASIC slave

I'm running one of the RPL (boardBringUp.cpp) examples using the RTX operating system.

The program crashes when I try to access the STC3 ASIC "slave".  When I try to read the signature ASIC slave when I try to access the OID or ports starting at port 6 which is the first port on the slave STC3.

Any ideas on what to try?

I just noticed that the RTX operating system layer was not modified to work with the PCIe-6509. The layer of the operating system allocates only byte 0 x 40000 for retgisters of the card. The problem is that the notebook for the STC3 slave register is 0 x 40004, the origin of the problem. You can change the osiUserCode.cpp to allocate more memory to bar0. I recommend 0 x 80000.

    Thank you

  • Individual access to the inputs and outputs on a single port (PXI-6509

    Hello

I use PXI-6509 and this sentence taken from the Manual:

"You can use each of the DIO lines as the input to a digital static (DI) or digital output (DO) line"

leads me to believe that each individual DIO can be defined as input or output (even within ports), but picture:

shows that these ports can be defined as inputs and outputs in the same port.

On another card 6284 with DIO, I can put them individually.

Can someone confirm that the 6509 is correctly?

    Best regards

  • 6509 API

    Hello

I used the DAQ of NI 6509 PCI card in my Dell Power Edge 860 server for years, but with a PCI - X riser installed.

    Works very well.

I need to update my servers.

Maybe for the new Dell Power Edge R230 which has only a riser with PCIe slots.

Therefore, I have to replace my capture card data PCI-6509 in the latest PCIe-6509.

I'll be able to use the same API calls in my code detects signals with the new PCI-6509e ths card?

    API calls such as:

    DAQmxCreateTask()

    DAQmxCreateDIChan()

    DAQmxStartTask()

    DAQmxReadDigitalLines()

    DAQmxStoptask

  • Digital reading Pulse with PCIe 6509

    Hi all

I'm trying to decode an infrared control using the PCIe 6509, but I've no chance that a signal from a remote control. It seems that when I use the VI of change detection, it does not generate the interrupt, but it cannot produce enough it fast to create a template to use with the reading VI Daqmx. Does anyone know if something like this is possible? The idea is to make the PCIe 6509 generate a digital output signal for each key different on the controller.

    Thank you!

Arduinos are often used.  There are a few boxes to software tools out there like LIFA and Lynx.  Then you just need a serial port to communicate.

  • PXI-6509 error to Reset Device

    Hello everyone,

I recently had three 3 PXI-6509 fail in one of my Test Stations.  I tried to reset the Max and received the following message: "the reset of the device failed.  From the device driver error report is the following: error 224903 has occurred to Reset Device. ».  I have also received "error-50152.  After that while I got the list of all installed maps place stores, are three PXI-6509 3 are removed from the list.  I wonder what tell me these error codes.  Pop - up error dialog box said that the "possible reasons: internal software error has occurred in Static_Digital_software.  I am also curious to know what it is relative to the.  I replaced all 3 three Council with a NEW chassis that I get to use and everything is fine.  I tried to connect these boards failed in my other chassis and the computer does not start even upward.  Thank you in advance for any information that you provide which will help me to understand what may have caused this to happen.  The system was working fine until the hour of lunch and after that noon is when the problems started.

    Kind regards

    Scott

    Hi Nick,

Sorry for the delay.  Our local technician came for a visit and we talked about the problem will this Board.  After our initial discussion and a brief tour of our facilities, we went through the Office.  I showed him the Board in question and I happened to see a burned around area CR1 and F1, which seems to be the + 5V output of the PXI-6509.   I went a little further, even if I don't have a schematic representation and check around.  No drivers '245' have been shorted, which was a good thing.  I noticed that F2 (fuse 4A) measured about 28 ohms, which would explain the problem.  Through my local technician, we discovered that the Board is still under warranty and will send the jury, in for repair.  Thank you for your help with this announcement and I hope everything will come together in the end as it gets fixed or is replaced.

    Kind regards

  • Missing 6289 and 6509 device drivers

    Hello

I was upgrading my drivers for devices with third quarter 2008 update (August). After that I made and restarted my computer, he advanced with re - install the four maps NOR I.

He did install two 4461 maps I have, but it could not install the 6509 and 6289 maps I have. I then detects the PCI cards, but is unable to find the drivers. I tried to manually update the drivers but to my surprise when I went to manually select the driver couldn't find the devices OR PXI - 6509 and NI PXI-6289 in the list of devices under Data Acquisition drivers of OR.

Please tell me if the update for the third quarter is absent on the drivers for the above maps?

I expect a quick answer because my job is to stand cause again now, I can't run my software without maps.

    Kind regards

    Alok dandois.

I tried to install these drivers directly. However, the error was always persistent. It was related to the installer of Windows on a sequence of operation.

Unfortunately I had to reinstall my windows to get the error passt. Now everything works fine.

    Thank you

  • 6509 PXI and SCB 100 Port 0 and 3 Port have lines that are high

    Hello

I work with a PXI-6509 connected to an SCB-100.  When I run the test panels lines 0,1,2 are high on port 0.  0,1,2,3 lines are high on port 3.

I have a voltage of 3 volts measured between Port0 line 0 and Gnd (PIN 47 and PIN 50).  Nothing is connected to my SCB-100.

I put the switches for the recommended positions for Digital passthrough.

    SW1, SW2, SW3 => on

    SW4, SW5-online off

    SW6-online on

    Please notify

    I found the problem!

It was a twisted spindle.  Straightend out and now it works!

  • Using 6509 DIO as input to trigger the TCP messaging

I'm a traditional GPIB instrument and no TCP, and I asked a question.

Is it possible to use the 6509 and a benchtop time signal generator a loop of LabVIEW? We have a loop that runs not controlled at a high rate (messages TCP). We would like to input pulse or square wave signal in the 6509 and trigger messages 1 to 3 kHz TCP (less than the loop runs not controlled). It comes to the fine TCP performance benchmarking; We use a loop timed at rates up to 1 kHz with good results, we need higher than the rate of 1 kHz.

    Is this possible?

    Hi Philippe,.

This has been reported to R & D (461F39IG ID CAR) and has been fixed in LabVIEW 8.20. Here is a link to the download the current for LabVIEW evaluation software. Thank you!

  • PXI-6509 does not attach to the ribbon cable screw

My threaded spacers on the connector of the PXI - 6509 100 i/o pins are not compatible with screwdowns that come with all the cables R1005050 Ribbon: either end threading is too large or the ribbon cable clamping thread is too small.  In any case, I can not connect it and wonder if it's vital for the current performance of ground or the shielding of the reasons?  I received my material in the calendar from June-August 2008, if it's important.

    Fluffums-

Thanks for posting your question on the forums of NOR. It is not necessary to have your clamping of cables connected to the pins of the PXI-6509. The screwdowns are mainly here to make sure that your cable is connected to your device. Currently, I don't have my cable fixed in my PCI due to the fact that I'm constantly change hardware autour. I hope this helps.

  • Short films through the lines of output of NI USB-6509

    Hello

I use the NI USB-6509 Board and on the manual of the device it says that external voltage sources must not be connected to any line output, it will be the damaged aircraft if they exist in short in all configured output lines (a line of output (1 or 0) is connected to another line (s) to exit. I want to isolate all lines output configured by connecting a diode in series and a 47 ohms limiting resistance far lines of output, that will help.

    Rgds

    Paul

    Paul,

If the lines are shorted together briefly he probably will not damage the device because there are protection circuits.  However, it is not recommended to connect two lines.  Why do want to connect in this way?

  • How to create a channel for a PXI-6509

I'm working on a program to fight the PXI-6509. The only area that I have problems with creates the string by calling the function DAQmxCreateDOChan. I get no errors during the first DAQmxCreateTask, but get an error when you try to create the channel. Exactly how to create the channel name? In MAX, I have named the "DIO" device, do not know if it matters. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi schelgr,

Have you had a glance examples DAQmx in finder example found in help > find examples.  In input and output equipment > DAQmx there is a lot of examples that should be able to help with this query.

  • How to create table of 288 HP push button in the PXI-6509 (3pcs)

    Hi all

    Need help...

I am a beginner in labview. & her first time use OR for my project.

We must push buttom about 288 HP control panel. We use PXI-6509 (3 pcs)

    & I do a code (in tie).

but some time appear as a bug if we push a button push button after all. but some time is ok.

    Please correct the code.

    Thank you very much...

It seems to work fine for me.  What do you mean by "sometimes appear like a bug?  How is it not behave like you want.

    A few recommendations:

    1. There is no logical reason for the node feedback on some of your cables of the error.

    2. you can turn some of your groups of buttons in a cluster.  This way you can work on changing the value of a cluster and do not have to set up 100's of changes made to the values of the individual controls.  You'd also be abe to easily use the cluster to table to transform your cluster of Boolean Boolean rather than building tables table by manually cabling up to 100's of controls.

  • Checking if NEITHER-6509 works on my RHEL WS 4.6

I installed NIDAQmx 8.0 on my Red Hat Enterprise WS 4.6 machine.  Installing the driver seemed successful.

Using the nilsdev command, the following text is displayed:

    OR PCI-6509: "Dev1".

    The memory range: 0xDFAFE000-0xDFAFFFFF

How can I make sure that the PCI-6509 Board work properly with my RHEL WS 4.6?

    Thank you

    Wayne

    Hi Wayne,

Welcome to the forums EITHER!  The best way to check that your device is working properly is to use a Test Panel.  Following knowledge base has received instructions to know how to open a Test Linux Panel: panels of Test for DAQmx in Linux

Since the test Panel, you will be able to read / write the 6509 digital lines to make sure that the device is functioning properly.  Thanks for posting and have a great day!
