  My laptop has tried to install a security update whenever I stopped it 3 months!... My office (also under Windows 7) inbstalled without problem again in October (2010). I tried to "Fix" Windows Update and get a message "no problems found"... Anyone know what is happening?

  You must reinstall .NET Framework. If you decide to remove all the using the removal tool, start with the installation of .NET Framework 3.5 and then do all the updates and then go back to 1.1 etc. Use Windows Update to guide you on what versions and updates you need.

  Not quite right, but use a fixer of framework and re-installed the frame individually. Now, the automatic update works again.
