700 - 515xt envy: Broadcom 43142 802.11 bgn internal card and 5 Ghz wireless

Hello

After purusing these cards looking for an answer I seemed to have stumbled on one. My card is a card of 2.4 ghz and the BGN is really mean 2.4 and if I wanted a double band I needed to have an AGN or similar suffix.

That said it has been also mentioned that bluetooth is a component of the AGN card. The envy has bluetooth capability as well. So if this isn't the correct card to operate at 5 GHz, can someone from HP recommends a proper map?

My router is double diffusion (separate names for 2.4 and 5) and passes. I can see the two SSID broadcast on other devices, but not on this computer.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

Alan in Dallas.

There is nothing that can be done with your current card. It must be replaced by an adapter Wireless 2.4 / 5 GHz. to remove the old card and replace it with a new mini PCIE half card... or replace it with a full size PCIe... or use a USB adapter.

    Hi, I have a HP Pavilion 500 t - Win 7 with a Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 bgn Wi - Fi adapter.

I'm getting random interrupted internet connectivity.

Does anyone else have this problem?

    Thank you!

    You are the very welcome.

That the method of searching for updated drivers is only as good as if/when the hardware manufacturer pushes an update of the driver on the Windows Update site.

Most of the time you will have to manually search for updated drivers.

Usually you can find them as I did for the card wireless in your model.

But the line at the bottom is, let's hope the driver to day made a difference.

    Hello:

There is nothing wrong with your laptop or wireless card.

This model of card is a single 2.4 GHz single band card.

Tip: once you see a card with a suffix of bgn, this means that it is a single band card.

Dual-band cards have a suffix abgn or agn.

Unfortunately, it seems that it is very difficult to replace the card wireless in your template, or I would have recommended to replace the card with a model dual band which has bluetooth.

In addition, do the work yourself would void the warranty according to the manual on the section of your laptop user guides.

    Hi @HadjadjTaha,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

I understand that since the upgrade of Windows 8 for Windows 10 your Wi - Fi works fine, but after awhile the icon won't say no Internet and you will need to disable and re-enable the adapter to regain access to the Internet.

    Would check you this setting.

    • Go to the Device Manager
    • Click the network card to expand the list
    • Right-click on the adapter that is listed and choose Properties
    • Click the power management tab
    • If "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is ticked, please remove it.
    • Click OK
    • Repeat the process above listed all types of adapters.

Here is a link to PC HP - troubleshooting wireless network and Internet (10 windows) that can also help.

Please let me know the results.

  • Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn adapter Wi - Fi 2 x 2.

    I use a new computer h8 - 1520t.

My wireless is card is: Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2 x 2 Wi - Fi adapter.

This wireless card will work also on the strip of the 5 GHz WiFi?

My router is only 2.4 GHZ and the band is very too cluttered (heavily used in my neighborhood).

    Thank you.

    Hello:

Yes, whenever you see a wireless card listed as ABGN, the A lets you know that you can also run it at 5.0 GHz frequency.

If you see a wireless card listed as BGN, it is a single wireless capable of frequency 2.4 GHz card.

Make sure you see this description in the device under the section manager network cards not only by reading the specs on the site.

I have uppdated the driver for wireless for later, but I can't see any network in 5 GHz, only 2.4 Ghz.

My question is: this network card supports 5 Ghz?

It is said 802.11bgn and why I bought it, so I could use 5 Ghz, but I don't see any of that s.

    Hello:

The Ralink RT3290 802.11 bgn is the only map of a single band (2.4 GHz).

Whenever you see a Wireless N card specification listed as bgn, it is a single band card.

Cards dual band are listed as abgn or agn.

  • Broadcom 43225 802.1 b/g/n: Driver for Broadcom 43225 802.11 b/g/n on Windows 10

    Hello

I have a Broadcom 43225 802.11b/g/n installed on my HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC on Windows 10. My version of the driver for the Broadcom adapter is 6.30.59.49. This version does not support for Windows 10 list.

Do you know if there is a Windows 10 driver for my card somwhere?

    AD9

    AD9

I use Win10 on my laptop HP DV6 and it's the same version of driver on my PC.  There is no HP Win10 driver for this laptop; Thus, Win8 drivers are the most recent available.

However... WiFi did NOT work under Win10 until I Redid the installation from scratch - something got postponed during the "upgrade" that prevented the working WiFi button.

What COULD something work is known as a repair installation.  It is less destructive of all functions of Windows recovery and rewrites the files from Windows system, including drivers, leaving your apps, settings and data intact.

To do this, you will need to use the link to the installation media to download Win10 and burn a DVD or create a USB key: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10

Note that when you download and build install media, the default tool corresponding to what is already installed on your PC (as in home for the House, and 64-bit to 64 - bit).  Make sure you only select the same version as you need for your PC. If you do not, the media that results will be different and will force you to enter a NEW product code!

Once you have that media, follow the instructions in the link: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repair-install-windows-10-place-upgrade.html

If that does not activate the WiFi button, while you look at a clean-install and that will remove all of your PC.  There is a lot of work to do back off all the files, find all the application files and reinstall and reconfigure all, but ultimately the laptop runs fine under Win10.

    Good luck
