  • Each installation of the PATCH fails after installing Windows updates

    Hello

I would like to report a problem, I think it's a bug of Windows introduced by one of the Windows updates (unfortunately I could not know who of them).

    Here's the test scenario:
    1. install a fresh copy of Windows on a test computer
    2. install all the Windows updates available (so the system is up-to-date)
    3. create a sample MSI installer that installs only some dummy files (let's say Product Version 1.0.0) and host on a web server

    4. install the MSI from the online location using a command line like this:

    msiexec /i http://server/share/package.msi

    5. create a. Patch MSP (e.g. v1.0.1) which only adds a new file to v1.0.0
    6 install the patch v1.0.1

RESULT: the installation of the patch fails with the following error message: "the file name, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect."

    NOTES:
    1. the question has replicated to Windows 7 and 8 machines updated
    2. the question is not replicated on a new install of Windows without updates applied

Is anyone aware of what may cause this error? Once again the patch installation fails only on Windows computers with the latest updates installed.

Thanks for your reply. The problem has been resolved by the following plan of action.

    1. check if the RDBMS 17502060 patch has been applied to the database.

    2. If the hotfix has been applied, then run the script:

SQL > sqlplus / as sysdba

    17502060/files/sqlpatch/17502060/postinstall. This patch SQL.

    3 run ADGRANTS

SQL > sqlplus / as sysdba

    SQL > @$APPL_TOP/admin/adgrants.sql APPS

    4. Finally, to compile the package body

    SQL > conn apps/apps

    SQL > alter the body of package AD_ZD_PREP compilation;

You try to apply the patch using /hotpatch option when a cycle existing adoption is ongoing. This is not allowed. Either you apply the patch to fix file system online help (phase of adoption fair use = apply patches =) or you can fill out/drop current patch cycle, then apply using /hotpatch.

  • APSB07-02 security patch fails to install correctly

I followed the instructions (even though they skipped the step WHERE should be the file wsconfig.jar - in the lib directory, btw) to the http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb07-02.html and when I run the command 'java - Dtrace.ci = 1 - jar wsconfig.jar - upgrade - v' from the lib directory I get a DOS prompt that the file is "corrupt or the wrong version of wsconfig.jar.»

This is the version of several server running jrun4 updater 6.

Any help would be appreciated... Thank you.

I found the problem after working with another user on this forum, so I'll post what I sent to Adobe as the answer.

In this security bulletin: http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb07-02.html , several steps are simply left out of the process. We use the multi-server with Jrun4 Updater 6 version, so I will use that as my example and fill in the missing steps. The steps with >< surrounding="" them="" are="" missing="" from="" the="">

Backup the existing {jrun_root}\lib\wsconfig.jar to wsconfig.jar.bu.
    Download the hotfix (urgent wsconfig-U6 - 65311.jar - 2.5 MB).
    > Unzip the downloaded file (wsconfig-U6 - 65311.zip), it contains two files called wsconfig-U6 - 65311.jar and another file named jrun-hotfix - 65311.jar
    > And rename wsconfig-U6 - 65311.jar wsconfig.jar
Stop all ColdFusion MX and JRun servers IIS (WWW Publishing Services) servers. Also, stop the Windows Management Instrumentation service to unlock the IIS connector.
Note: This step is important for ISPS. With IIS running, the Connector Setup program stops and restarts each site during the upgrade, causing the upgrade to take over time.
    > Move the wsconfig.jar file that you have renamed in the {jrun_root} \lib directory.
Navigate to the \jrun4\lib directory and run the Connector upgrade:
    CD {jrun_root} \lib
    Java - Dtrace.ci = 1-jar wsconfig.jar - upgrade - v
Make sure the upgrade completed successfully.
    Inspect {jrun_root}\lib\wsconfig\wsconfig.log for errors
Check the tab version of {jrun_root} \lib\wsconfig\ (number) \jrun_iis6_wildcard.dll. The "Product Version" field should indicate 4,0,6,108407
Another way to check the version is a request to wsconfig.jar directly as follows:
    java-jar wsconfig.jar - info
The command should return "Macromedia JRun 4.0 (Build 108407)".

    > Move the jrun-hotfix - 65311.jar file that you have unpacked above and save in {jrun_root} \servers\lib.

  • Patch KB2656369 says he installs, but comes back eager to install again. On the PC, it shows not installed, but it shows on the WSUS server, installed OK.

Have tried everything I can find on the Microsoft website to obtain this security patch installed without success.  Patch was released on 12/06/12.  Patch is for .net Framework 2.0 Patch fails on several XP machines.

Seeing how Microsoft Answers is for the side Windows and not on the side of the business consumer, I would recommend post on the Microsoft Technet forums, given that their community is more tilted to the professional field.  You can also try posting on the Site of the Support of Novell.

I deleted all the files and restarted the install several times and it does not reach this point every time. I checked that it is Oracle java OpenJDK not on the trademark system and am running out of ideas.  I have everything will remove the scene rebuilding after that re upload all files, but in the meantime I'm looking for advice. Thank you.

Found a workaround.  The problem is that, before the 7695070 patch is applied, the installation program backup directory/apps/fs2/FMW_Home/webtier/jdk in /apps/fs2/FMW_Home/webtier/jdk_backup_existing_version, but then it clears. / jdk - the patch fails because it can't find it.  I had to rename the directory of the jdk for jdk2, and as soon as it gets deleted quickly and rename jdk2 jdk.  Then he applies the patches without problem.  A symbolic link would do the same thing.

  • adoption apply phase failed. market to follow

We are in the middle of the patching recommended on EBS R12.2.4 instance with 12.1.0.2.0 db. We conducted under activities up to now:

    adoption phase = prepare

    adoption phase = apply patches = 1

    adoption phase = patch = 2

    adoption phase = patch = 3

    One of the patch failed:

    adoption phase = patch = 20592764

We applied 30 patches up to now in adoption apply phase an and I still have to apply other hotfixes. Patch 20592764 failed due to incompatibility with the line of code R12.2 C.

    Done...!

adopted out with status = 0 (success)

We do not use cancel that we already applied 30 patches and it will start the cycle from scratch. We are yet to apply the fixes over 40. Also several times giving up is leading to corruption of data dictionary in our case and a bug is already raised with Support from Oracle.
We can use: adopted phase = apply restart no = no = yes patches abandonment = 20592764

Please suggest how to proceed with patching. Now we're stuck.

    Concerning

    Purnima Johari

I suggest you start with the next patch using the 'abandonment = yes"parameter.

It seems that I forgot to mention that in my previous post!

Furthermore, why apply AD. Delta.6 instead of delta.5?

    Kind regards

    Bashar
