Hello

You can buy the pack included Windows Pro 8.1 with Windows Media Center. Otherwise, you can buy WMC. At the beginning of this year, Microsoft has distributed the product to Windows 8 Pro only BUT must be activated before the 32nd March 2013. Please see the following article:

In short: not true.

Kind regards.

  • Windows Media Center "to listen or look at a conflict"... does not recognize the TV tuner

I have completely exhausted the forum Windows Media Center for response to the resolution of this problem. I replaced my unit ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Ready, as well as my graphics card tuner, and WMC still says 'No TV Tuner Found"and the message" listen or look at a conflict - no tuner available to meet the current demand "when I try to watch live TV. I have also a "no tuner hardware detected... Please ensure equipment is installed correctly...» "if I try to set up the TV Tuner again.

I don't think that my answer lies in Windows Media Center or hardware from ATI. I'm now trying to figure out if it involves this feature installed at the factory of HP listed on the bottom of my computer: "GENUINE WINDOWS VISTA HOME Premium TUNER DIGITAL". I understand that it is the software and hardware.

I would be grateful if anyone has answers. If anyone knows what this function is that was installed at the factory, and how I can uninstall and reinstall the software and replace the hardware, I understand that too.

    Thank you

After unsuccessfully trying everything I could find that had the potential to solve my problem, I finally solved the problem myself.

It's actually a corrupted Windows file that allows my TV tuner, which caused all my problems. I reinstalled my Vista operating system to its original state, and now the ATI TV tuner works fine. Easier said than done.

  • No big screen in Windows Media Center on Qosmio G10-133?

    Hello
I just set up my Qosmio G10-133 to watch the TV via a set-top box Freeveiw. However in Windows Media Center, I can't see it on the big screen. If I veiw the same programe in the Toshiba drive I can veiw on the big screen OK.
Any help with this would be much appreciated.

  • Windows Media Center - why it cannot detect TV?

I used Qosmioplayer and it detects the TV from my Sky Digibox very well signal. However, I would like to record TV with my laptop and when I try to set up the TV using Windows Media Center, it cannot detect anything. I tried every possible permutation and the manual does not give pointers...

Why the Qosmiplayer works for the entrance to Sky TV, but not the media library?

Please help it's driving me crazy!

I assume you are using a lead of areal coaxial standard to connect to your sky box? If so, you need to know which way the sky is coming in the. To do this, use the Qomsio drive to search for channels and when it detects the signal from Sky, it will tell you which way it is passed on. Something like channel 36. OK, now you have this information, start the machine and go into Media Center. You must manually add this channel. As Media center works with the EPG, all channels such as the skyinput must be added.

So, in the main menu, go to

Settings > TV > Guide > add missing channels > add channel

Now enter the channel name you want displayed when viewing. IE SKY.

Now you enter the channel number 36 IE that you got the Qosmio engine. This will now be held on the next available channel. IE 6/7/8 etc. Everything do you now is go to the channel and it appears at the entrance to heaven.

    Hope this helps

I tried to download the new driver from the Toshiba download page, but it seems to make no difference that Media Center does not give me the ability to configure 2 tuners.

    Hello

    Found this useful Microsoft page:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/products/windowsvista/footnotes.mspx

Take a look at the chapter * M *-> on MCE

    You can find this info:
+ Reading and TV recording features require a USB TV tuner or external. Supports up to two TV tuners +.

So in my opinion, you cannot record TV and watch another channel at the same time using only the internal TV tuner.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post on your PC not start and I wanted to help.

I wish I got good news for you, but I did not, as it sounds a bit like the hard drive has failed, what is to be expected if this PC XP - era still has the original drive.

We have a few troubleshooting steps to test the drive but they only work on recent PC.

What could work is by pressing ESC, or F1 or F2, when you start to see if one of these enter you a Setup screen, and if they do, choose to run the diagnostics from there to go to disk.

If the drive has failed, there is bad news (sorry!) -in that HP long leaves Jersey recovery media for XP - era machines, so there is nothing you can order from HP to restore your PC to a new drive.

Given that HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you should check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

And if not enough bad news, I guess that the hard drive in your XP machine has something known as an IDE interface.  You can tell by looking at the back of the car where the data cable connects.  If it is a large flat cable (about 2 inches wide) and there are a bunch of small pins where it connects on the disc, then it IS an IDE drive and those who are practically impossible to find, as the industry player opted for SATA disks making a few years back.

Sorry... but it's time to think seriously to switch to a newer PC.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • How to install Windows Media Center & decoder: Please help!

I have a HP desktop computer. There not yet 2 years old, I have Windows Media Center (WMC) and I could watch TV very good about it until I'm the cable box. I simply plugged the cable into the Tower, no problem. Now that I have the decoder, I'm confused as to what's missing to make it work! It is said that the IR hardware & IR control cables are missing. What does that mean? Also, how far I will use? Do I have to use a universal? Oh, and it shows the channels that are supposed to be here (for example: it comes through that channel 53 is supposed to be MTV, but there is no video or sound).

    Thank you!!!

    -Lisa

Set your tuner, PC TV channel 3 or 4 according to the cable box output channel.  The decoder is initially connect to the wall and the video output is connected to the PC.  Use the remote control for the set-top box to change channels.  If the PC is to drive the sound then you will also need to connect audio cables (red and white) from the cable box to the audio inputs of the TV tuner card.

  • How can I use the FM tuner in Windows Media Center?

    Hello world.

    New on the thread.
Found this site looking for answers to a problem I have. ?:|

I received my Toshiba Satellite computer as a Christmas gift. I noticed that it is a cool FM tuner.

I've also been playing with Windows Media Center.
However, I can't understand how to operate the tuner inside the WMC FM...?

I added the NXP FM tuner program to the "extras" on WMC, but instead to open the tuner inside the WMC, it just opens the separate program.

Anyone know how I can use the FM tuner (or another maybe?) inside the WMC?

    Thank you! :)

    Hello

I have no experience with this because my Satellite doesn't have an FM Tuner but nice talk on it you will find under

If you find the final solution, it will be nice if you can describe an own experience with it. It may be useful to other people here.

  • HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF: Some HP Windows Media Center buttons on the remote control does not

I have a desktop PC HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF that I use as a home theater PC.  I'm under Windows Media Center with 2 cards tuner and antennae of the OTA.

With this configuration, I use a HP Remote WMC.  The model No. inside the cover of the remote control battery is TSGH-IR01.  The issue I'm having with the remote control that is stationary and move forward and "back" button do nothing when you press.  The light at the top of the remote control flashes when you press those buttons, so I don't think that the buttons themselves infrared are failing.  All the other buttons on the remote work fine.

I wonder if it is a problem of programming/software and if so, what should I do to solve this problem.   It's annoying to not be able to stop a recorded program is playing when you press the stop button, but having to use a mouse to do it instead.   Any help that can be given will be very appreciated!

For anyone having this problem, I discovered the cause after reading a post on the forums of thegreenbutton.tv.  An application in Chrome or any browser Chrome (in my case, the Slimjet browser) is the culprit.

For me, it was the Plex app.  He was diverting the judgment and move forward and back buttons on my remote HP WMC.  As soon as I disabled the application of Plex, the buttons started working.   Never would have guessed that this was the problem!  Hope this helps someone else who might have the same problem.  Ah, tech.  Isn't beautiful?

    Hello

    Method 1:

I would suggest you click on the link provided below, proceed and check if it helps.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/972496

    Method 2:

You can also face this problem if your Windows Media Player database is damaged, you can delete the database of Windows Media Player. To do this, follow these steps:

    (a) output Windows Media Player.

    (b) click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.

(c), select all the files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

Note: you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    (d) restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If the above does not solve your problem then clear cache of database of Windows Media Player files. To do this, follow these steps:

    (a) output Windows Media Player.

    (b) click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoftand then click OK.

    (c) select the folder Media Player and then click on Delete on the file menu.

    (d) restart Windows Media Player.

    Hope this helps

  • What do you do when everty time you access something need you for windows media center

It started with microsoft. Whenever I tried to access my Microsoft pages it took me to windows media center. Now, everything is in the Center. The only way I can get online is through a back door. I tried to change the default values for the Center, but the only default parameters listed are the original ones.
Windows Media Center has taken control of my computer. Help!

From what you have stated above, I think that the file association for LNK files has been given misdirection to the Media Center. I've seen this happen when opening a program via a shortcut (for example. LNK file), you are asked what type of program to open it with. After selecting the Windows Media Center (or another program) via the Select a program from a list of programs installedand check always use the selected program to open this type of file (circled in red below), the document or program referenced by the shortcut of origin opens in Windows Media Center as it should.

The problem is that now all shortcuts (for example. LNK files) on the desktop or in the browser will want to be opened by Windows Media Center and Windows Media Center icon to view the shortcut no matter what shortcut was originally intentioned to open. This is known as a file association and the default icon. The same condition can occur if you have performed these actions 'Open with' on one. JPG or even a. EXE, but the. LNK explanation is much more likely for the items on the desktop.

The good news is that a small free utility was written to cancel the. LNK file association was created. There is also a registry hack to achieve, but I recommend the utility unAssoc for its ease of use. I used to send people on another site to download this utility, but this site has become confused with all the ads and fake download links. I put a copy on by SkyDrive own here.

Just download, then use the utility to unassociate the. LNK files for the user or globally delete the file type and let windows rebuild a new default.

  • Windows Media Center 7 (64-bit) falls down for TV Set Up

We have recently installed a Ceton Infinitv Quad Tuner (and the latest updates and SW) for our Windows 7 Ultimate PC.  I followed previous forum advice and started the PC to the selective startup to isolate third-party issues, run the .net framework Cleanup tool, reinstalled the components needed .net framework (1.0, 1.1, 3.5, 3.5 SP1 and 4.0) and disabled MC Update.  None of them have worked.

I get to the settings--> TV and Media Center menu crashes or TV---> Set Up TV Signal and Media Center crashes with a message 'Media Center' stopped working.  Other than this issue Media Center works very well.

Any suggestions for how to deal with this?

    Check out the link:

Turn on or off Windows features

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-features-on-or-off

    Method 2:

Also try to update driver BIOS and graphics card to the latest version. You can check the manufacturer's Web site to do the same.

Make sure you have the latest updates of Windows installed.

You can also check if you get an error in Event Viewer about what is causing the problem.
