  I have a HP m8034n pc with a tuner Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600 NTSC/ATSC Combo.  The pc came with Vista and Windows media center worked great just with the tv tuner.  I upgraded to Windows 7, December 2 and fail to put in place my tv with WMC tuner.  The recorded shows that I had before the upgrade to Windows 7 appear and play without problem in WMC. I used the hardware diagnostic tool that is installed on my pc to control the Tuner, and during the test, I can see fine TV stations.  This unit is compatible according to microsoft Windows 7. I have the latest driver and tried to uninstall and reinstall. I ran Windows Update and everything is up-to-date. After that WMC checks tuners, it says:

  WMC has discovered the following:
  Analog cable (1 Tuner)

  Other tuners or TV signals were detected but will not be configured.
  (Show details)

  Is this Setup correct and complete?
  o Yes, configure TV with these results

  When I click on show details, it is said:

  I don't know what happened, I left my PC off overnight and planned reformatting today. But I decided to give him another chance. Instead of saying the tuner was not available.   Because Media Center uses the same library as WMP, I suggest that you try to reset the media library of WMP. Note firstly reset the library will make you lose all play counts and ratings too. Then, follow these steps:

  -Restart the PC.
  -Click Start, type services.msc in the search field and press ENTER. In Services, locate the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service. If its status is started, double-click on the service and click on stop.
  -Click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft in the search field and press ENTER. This folder opens in Windows Explorer.
  -In this folder, delete the folder Media Player. If you do not see the folder, then it is probably hidden. Set Explorer to view the hidden files and folders and show protected system files.
  -Launch WMP, your library will have been reset and will be rebuilt. Check if the duplicates have been fixed.

  I am running Windows Media Center on Vista and have equipped with a Hauppauge TV card. It has analog (NTSC) TV input, digital TV (ATSC) and a composite video & audio. TV tuners work very well. How to choose the A / V input line to display? There is no "enter" of the remote control button. I know that the signals are there because I get a picture of the video and a slice of audio using Win - TV (really crappy software).

  You cannot view several pictures at the same time on a single screen on Windows Media Center.

  Step 1: Remove a photo from your computer
  a. on the Windows Media Center start screen, access images + videos and then click picture library.
  b. navigate to the image you want to delete, click on the image, click on remove and then click Yes.

  Note: Deleting files permanently removes files from your computer. Back up the files before deleting.

  I buy the G40 - 10F and get sky to wide band and they say that you need a spare ethernet on the computer.

  All I can find is RJ11 and RJ45 is the ethernet in a differnent name.

  Qosmio G40 supports all ports that are important in establishing the sky broadband.
  The RJ45 is the Ethernet port; known as port Lan ;)

  You can connect the modem to broadband from sky to this port using the LAN cable just ;)

  After you have extracted the files you get the folder with other files
  I assume these are files required by FM tuner driver.

  Now you need to go to Device Manager, must mark the FM tuner (possibly unknown device if the driver is missing) a duty to install/update the driver.

I spoke with Comcast, with Ceton Corp (manufacturing of my digital cable tuner card) and with Zap2it (info guide provider program for WMC).  All of them confirm what a) 668 is in my registration, b) 668 is tunable my card, and c) 668 announces are included in the current program guide data from Zap2it.  My data to guide program is also completely updated according to WMC.   A pretty easy regedit should remove an application from the section "recommended programs". Here is a procedure step by step on how to do it. Unfortunately, I don't think that will solve your problem. What seems actually to have occurred is either your .lnk .exe (or maybe both) have inadvertently been associated with WMC. Out of the list of the programs recommended for the open with dialog box will not change. In fact, the next time that you open the program, it will open in WMC and add automatically return a program recommended in the open with dialog box.

  There really should not be whatever it is that you open a .lnk or .exe with because you really don't want to open them... you want to run. To determine if the .lnk or .exe associated with wrong, you can either watch the extension file associations in the control panel > programs, or you can see if it's a shortcut or the actual executable file that does. Need to know who, or if she is at the same time, in order to complete the fix.

  Once you know it, this link will show you how to restore the default file type link. Matter of fact, now that I think of it, it wouldn't hurt to just restore default settings for .lnk and .exe.
