8 win by the virus of Trojan system32 HP Games.

Race 2000 HP laptop win 8. Was updated to win 10, but due to problems with viruses and malware, I restored it portable d to Win 8. Used offline Defender, Odile, rkill, spyware, Malwarebytes and Super but Defender continues to report on the RED screen "Trojan Virus system HP 32 games... etc. Defender cannot remove Trojan. Gets about 75 percent of the way, then crashes. But when I restart and go to the history it does not show the Trojan horse.

Cannot update to 8.1 or win 10. Some research shows the Trojan horse is a 'false positive' and the culprit is in the D: drive. If true, no amount of restorations of D: will not affect the Trojan horse.

I have created 5 restore disks when I bought the laptop and is considering a full format of C: & D: then a reload of the disks.

My question: is there a better way to remove the Trojan horse of the D: drive?

Thank you

Al

When you say 'Defender of D/L new CD', you were talking about Windows Defender Offline, is that correct?

IMPORTANT! =>

  • Your computer Windows 8 should NOT be connected to the internet or local area network for long periods (i.e. over a minute) or two in its current state. All business & personal data (including passwords online banking & credit) must be considered at risk, if not already compromised.
  • Whenever you perform a reset ('restore laptop D:'), a trial of free Norton is installed again (but not valid now). You MUST (a) uninstall Norton AND THEN (b) download/run Norton Removal Tool [3] & reboot (c) BEFORE , you can count on Windows Defender & firewall to protect your computer AND BEFORE installing updates (including the Win8.1 and its prerequisites, as well as Win10 conditions).
  • For security reasons, you need to analyze all files saved on Google Drive at least two 2 online scanners known (i.e., not Windows Defender) before accessing data (via Google Drive) on the computer of Win8 (.1) and before you transfer the data to the Win8 computer HARD drive (.1).
  • If you are interested in the free update for Win10, be aware that the offer ends at 12:01 AM Pacific [07:01 UTC] on July 29, 2016.

I tried every thing blessed with technology microsoft... always hanging in limbo here.  Tired of doing constant comprehensive analyses, etc. in order to remove the constant threats.  Apparently my McAfee can't stay with her either.  Need help with the download/repair these seeds as soon as possible.  Thanks to all those who wish to help me - it would be that popular, for sure!

    The question makes no sense.

"Can manage Windows XP Home Edition of Windows 8?"

Two problems: there is no Windows 8 and even if there were, Windows XP Home Edition would not not 'manage '.  ;-)

I drop McAfee for a few different freeware products.  Or better yet I'd get two products 'cost' (~ 25 and 60 dollars) and install them and use them in the future - but WHEN you are trying to clean up.

You seem like you maybe sincerely - at a time when a format/install of Windows XP/patching/installation of applications/patch/restore backups of your data is the best course of action.

However, if you are willing to work - maybe we can at least get things cleaned up to a certain point where you can get a good backup before doing this (otherwise avoid doing all together.)

In the order shown, do not jump (no matter what you do, what you have done in the past, etc.) ...

First of all - download, install, operate and put to update and then run a full system scan with the following two (one at a time, reboot in-between):

After you perform a full scan with one then the other and remove anything they have all two are completely, you can uninstall these products, if you wish.  This initiative will allow to check there is no malware floating around your system which could cause problems.  If you ask - no, Norton probably does not protect you from what these applications can find.

See Palcouk answer and I would like to add a word about your use of terminology:

A rootkit is not a virus. Is not a Trojan horse. These three are the types of malicious software. The term "malware" is short for "malicious software" and includes the virus to Trojans, rootkits, keyloggers, dialers, spyware, adwareand others.

    Hello

Antivirus Center is a fake anti-spyware from the same family as the Internet Protection. This malware is installed on your computer through the use of Trojans and fake scanner pages that pretend to be updates for Adobe Flash. When the center of the Antivirus is installed on a computer it will be configured to start automatically when Windows starts. Once started, it will run a fake scan of your computer and can say that there are many present infections. If you try to delete one of these infections tell with the program it will state that it is unable to do until you buy it. Just out of curiosity, WHO recommends to install McFee?

I put t know what's wrong here, but perhaps this McFee has detected something specific to Toshiba and has determined that the virus. I put t know which is listed as a virus.

  • Re: Satellite won't start because of the virus

One of my computer got a virus and it was spent on my Toshiba Satellite laptop by a USB.

Now when I turn on my laptop, the screen lights up, but remains empty (except the mouse).

I tried system restore - it did not work. I had three points to restrore - and each of them said that the restoration of the system did not work properly due to a system error.

I checked also the memory and everything - but I'm not avoiding the recovery of the system (the one where all the files will be deleted) that I desperately need to keep my files.

What can I do to solve my problem?

    Hello

I doubt that a virus could cause this problem
I mean the virus can damage the operating system pre-installed, but the laptop has yet to start.
The Toshiba recovery disc formats the entire HARD drive, and in this case the virus must be erased from the HARD disk too

But if you are not able to reinstall the OS and are not able to start using disks bootable like Win XP, Linux or Toshiba Recovery disk so I assumed that this problem could be linked to the issue of the material and not to any viruses on your HARD drive.

Then try to reinstall the OS and check it out!

  • Alert to the virus by practicing a game

By practicing a game I d/l from a site that I was a member for a long time, with no problems. The game has stopped working and I got an error msg that this problem was caused by a W/32/gaobot.worm.gen.u-Win 32/RBot.3eu/Worm, a known computer virus. He's going to suggest, I get a updated antivirus software, but I do not have a current software running.  I'm afraid that the website that I have never had a problem for so long is not as safe as I thought.  or that my antivirus/antispyware is not very good.  Any suggestions would be helpful.  Thank you.

A virus is a program.  If you download and run a program, it can do what it is supposed to do.  Antivirus software looks at programs you download and check if they are in their catalog of known viruses.  If it does not what in the catalogue, it assumes that it is good and allows you to run.  Given that catalogs are updated all the time, that they can longer late with an update that discovers (once you have been infected) that the program you have running contains a virus.  Then warns you that you are now infected.

These days, the infection tends to come because people have exceeded the older software such as Adobe Reader, Java and Flash versions.  Because people are rarely (if ever) looking for updates of these programmes, they are often easily infected with new viruses.  Virus writers are constantly changing and updating their virus so that the anti-virus software is unable to detect them.

You should contact the company that makes your antivirus software and investigate the best way to clean your machine out of the virus you have with them.  And make sure all your system patches are up-to-date and your various software is up-to-date.  I would check out Adobe, Java, and Flash as they all have a lot of known holes in them that current virus writers take advantage of the.  But, at the same time, if you download games on Internet, it is very possible that files can be infected as well.  Therefore, always get a trusted site or source files.

  • Security Center Windows is no protection against the virus, even if my anti virus program is updated and active

Original title: Security Windows symbol said no protection, but my anti virus software says that there is no threat to my computer. My anti virus system is up to date (Kaspersky). Why the red with an x on it to declare shield than the anti virus protection is disabled

My antivirus program is up to date and said that everything is fine, however the red shield with the x is always on and says no virus protection is on

It's never happened before. What's wrong?

    Hi Pitbulls,

Many users of Kaspersky have this same caveat, but this is a simple hoax. There is a fix to get rid of the pesky warning permanently:

Try these steps and see if they help:

    Step 1:

    1. temporarily disable the WMI (WMI) service in:

    a. start > run

    b. type: "services.msc".

    c. and there find/stop WMI

    Step 2:

    Then delete the folder C:\windows\system32\wbem\repository

    Step 3:

Restart the WMI service using the same procedure that you used to stop and restart the computer

It's probably the Windows Security Center that falsely says he is off, you're not the first and it happens to all Anti Virus software brands.
