  Method 1:

  You can try to run the tool built into Vista Network Diagnostics. To do this, click Start, go to network and select network share.

  On the left side of the window select the diagnosis and repair.
  It should help to find which device is listed with the duplicate IP address.

  Method 2: Release and renew the IP address by following these steps.

  a. Click Start. Click Run, type cmd, press ENTER.

  b. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER

  ipconfig/release

  ipconfig / renew

  Method 3:

  Check and confirm the DHCP client service is started and set to automatic.

  If the DHCP client service is not running, then set it to autostart. Steps to set the auto service:

  a. click the Start button

  b. type services.msc in the search box.

  c. search for DHCP client and set it to automatic and make sure that it is started.

  Reset the router and see if the problem persists.

  A common situation that can lead to a conflict of ip address, it's only 2 (or more) computers or other devices are connected to the router (via ethernet or wireless), and both have ip addresses assigned by the router automatically, one of the computers, then past in mode 'sleep', and while we sleep the router restarts.  When the router comes back online he doesn't know the computer sleeps is here and that he already has an assigned ip address and so it gives the ip address of the other computer.  When the computer asleep wakes duplicate error will be triggered.  It can be solved by turning off computers and turn it back on so that the router will assign them new ip addresses.  If this is not what is happening in your situation, the following may help: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Get-help-with-There-is-an-IP-address-conflict-message

  I run a daily work to create an image of my drive system hard. Repeatedly the work began and, due to a material error, be abandoned. If anyone can help with the details of how to write an entry to a log of system events?

  I have a new computer, bought yesterday, running on Windows 8.
  I got a call this afternoon from someone claiming to be from Microsoft saying that I had downloaded some kind of malware - the name means nothing to me.  He began to talk me through the journal of the opening events, was about to take me through new measures to be taken.  I said several times that I was extremely suspicious, especially as I said we have a lot of computers running on this topic and he claimed that it did not matter that I used.  We were interrupted right there and I asked for a number to transfer the call.  He gave me a 1800 number - which is an American extension and I am uk.  When I got out, he said it would work, and I insisted on taking his name and also received his "number".  When I tried the number I got an error tone.
  Please could you confirm if there is anyway that could have been a real call from Microsoft?  Also - now that I've seen in the event log, I'm worried can I have downloaded something dangerous so that set up my new computer.  Any advice on the listed events of compensation would be great!

  It was not authentic.  If someone asks you anything you are owner and you do not make the call, think of it as a scam and hang up.  If you want to verify that this is a scam, then find the number of society who claim to want you, call them and see if they called you.

  The event log is just what it sounds like - a journal of the events on your computer maintained by Microsoft.  Just don't go into it more without reason.  As a normal user - probably, you rarely need to cela and would more probably have a sysadmin (computer SCIENTIST) do it for you.  ;-)

  I've updated the BIOS with the latest version, 1.40, and have the latest Intel Chipset drivers.

  I have a problem of IP stack.  I get an error message that says that my IP address is used by more than one computer on my home network.  My host that is connected to the modem and the router is a windows vista running IE8.  My remote computers XP with IE7.  I also have a Wii running Opera.  I noticed that when one of the XP computers is online, then no other remote computers can connect to the network.  Please help, the event with the description of the error log is highest in the detailed description

  I suggest you follow the steps to resolve the problem that you are experiencing below:

  Step 1:

  Reset TCP\IP [Transmission Control Protocol of Protocol\Internet]:

  To reset the stack TCP/IP go to this article and either click on "Fix it for me" or follow the instructions to fix it yourself:

  Step 2:

  Disable the IP helpdesk:

  1 hold the Windows key and type R, type "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press enter

  2. scroll down to the IP assistance service, right-click on it and select Properties.

  3. in the drop-down list box that says "Automatic" or "Manual", set it to disabled and then click 'apply '.

  4. then click on "Stop" to stop the service from running in the current session

  5. click on OK to exit the dialog box

  Disable IPv6:

  Try to uninstall IPv6 on all interfaces, the removal of virtual cards of IPv6 and reset the TCP/IP stack.  To remove the IPv6, go to the properties for each network adapter, and deselect the check box next to the Protocol "Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6), which will turn off, or select it and click on uninstall, which withdraw power off the computer.»  Then go into Device Manager and remove any 4to6 adapters, adapters miniport WUN or tunnel adapters.

• System Event Notification service - cannot connect to a Windows Service. Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification service

  I am unable to connect to my network wireless with my laptop Sony, (Vista home premium). This follows an infection in my desktop PC with a Trojan which did not stop, but slow internet browsing. I reinstalled vista windows on the pc and it works fine now bur my still gives mobile me this message. "Unable to connect to a Windows Service. Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification service. This problem prevents limited users to logon to the system. As an administrator, you can view the system event log to see why the service did not respond. "I am the administrator on my pc and laptop. I tried to change the user nothing helps. I use Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1. Intel Core 2Duo T7250 2 GHz. 2 GB of RAM. 32-bit. Sony Vaio FZ31M. If you can give me instructions on how to remedy the situation, it would be appreciated.   First of all, I suggest you that you also scan your laptop for infection by the virus. Second, reset TCP/IP stack Winsock settings. This could correct mistakes involving internet connectivity as a result of problems of installation of network software, due to a virus, trojan or malware infection or even due to disinfection of spyware security software.

  To repair and put back the Windows Vista

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Type Cmd in start it the search text box.
  3. Press Ctrl-Shift-Enter keyboard shortcut to run command as administrator prompt. Allow elevation request.
  4. Type netsh winsock reset in the command line shell, and then press the Enter key.
  5. Restart the computer
