8200: 8200 of elite sff bios update

Hi all, I am trying to update the bios with the latest version, I go through the procedure to locate the file, then download the file but when I try to update I get a message saying that the file is damaged or missing ive done this 3 times with the same result, ideas? was soon fred

Hi, Fred:

I have the 8200 Elite CMT and I've updated the BIOS year last to v02.28.

I have no problem with the file, so what I did to you is I zipped to the top and attached the contents of the folder BACK Flash for the update of BIOS below, and here's how you can update the BIOS quickly, safely and easily.

You can run any operating system you want, because you will not be flashing the BIOS under Windows.

You will need a USB stick formatted with the FAT32 file system.

Download and uncompress the file that I attached to his record.

Copy all the contents of the file in the folder on your USB.  Make sure you get all the files.

I recommend that you update the BIOS with just keyboard, mouse, monitor and connected flash drive. Nothing else.

Plug the flash drive into one of the front usb ports.

Restart the PC and at the beginning of the HP welcome screen, press the ESC key to get the options menu.

Select the F10 Setup menu to access the BIOS.

Once in the BIOS, select the file menu.  Then select the system Flash ROM option in the list.

Now you should see the contents of the file to the flash drive on the screen.

Follow the instructions to update the BIOS screen.

  • HP 8000 Elite sff: drivers update... not so simple anymore.

    OK, I admit, I'm late. I'm just trying to update an HP 8000 Elite Win 7 pro x 64 pre-installed, and I used just go to "drivers and software" and choose the newest one. NOW, when I get my pc and os, I gives me FIVE choices for the graphics driver, and I don't have any idea what's best for me. I'm fairly certain that I'm not supposed to download all THE I don't play a lot, and I don't think that I have all the cards installed, but graphics is not just for the games. I just want the best all around graphics driver every day.

    And, while I show my ignorance, let me add: I checked for an update of the bios, and there were FOUR choices. How can the world be FOUR choices of update of the bios on a specific computer and os?  Thank you

    Hello:

    I have 8000 Elite CMT.  W10 works very well.  I add an AMD Radeon HD 6570 in mine, however.

    If your 8000 Elite SFF have no graphics cards, they have integrated Intel HD graphics card.

    If you want to add a video card, I recommend for models SFF, map of chart AMD Radeon HD 6450 low profile with media of low profile, which is the graphics card optionally used on the 8200 Elite SFF with the same 240 W power supply.

    So if your PC lacks a graphics card in option, you want this driver Intel graphics for W7:

    You want this file to update the BIOS...

    I'm happy that I came across this thread, because I thought I had the latest BIOS update on my 8000 Elite and I see one is out after during a four-year hiatus, in November.

    So I've just updated the BIOS of my PC using the procedure I will explain then.

    I've made it simple for you both to update the BIOS by using the following instructions, and I also zipped and attached the file for BIOS, you need to perform the update.

    It doesn't matter what operating system you use to Flash the BIOS as I do.

    You will need a USB flash drive formatted with the FAT 32 file system.

    Download and uncompress the file that I attached below.

    Copy the files in the folder you have unzipped on your USB flash drive.  All the contents of the file, not the file.

    Plug the USB key into one of the usb ports.

    I recommend you disconnect all connected to the PC, but the keyboard, mouse, monitor and usb flash drive.

    Restart the PC and at the beginning of the HP welcome screen, press the F10 key to access the BIOS.

    Select the file menu.  This menu is an option «Flash system ROM»

    Select this option.  Then it will ask for CD or USB.

    Select USB.  Now you should see the flash file visible on the screen of your USB flash drive.

    Follow the prompts on the screen to Flash the BIOS.

    Restart the PC.

    Upon restart, you should see the new 1.14 BIOS are displayed on the lower left side of the blue HP welcome screen.

  • HP8000 elite SFF; What updates are available

    I just bought a HP 8000 Elite SFF (WB717ET #ABU) desktop computer with a Pentium Dual-Core E5400 CPU clocked at 2.7 GHz.

    I was wondering what CPU from the motherboard (Rev 0C by the looks of it) could accept in order to squeeze more performance out of it (and how would upgrade simple such a CPU)?

    This image is from the maintenance for the HP 8000 Elite manual

    Upgrade to a Core 2 Quad or Core 2 Duo processor would be a big improvement in power.

  • HP Elite 8200 CMT: Bios Update after the update of Windows 10

    Hello, I've updated my HP Elite 8200 CMT from windows 7 to windows 10.

    In the HP driver download page, there is no updated BIOS for windows 10.

    But I noticed that it is has updated BIOS for Windows 7.

    The question is, can I use it on Windows 10?

    And generally to load OS updates to the BIOS?

    Hello:

    You can remove the base flash BACK of the package of BIOS file folder, simply copy the contents of the file flash BACK on a USB stick formatted with the FAT file system.

    Plug in a USB flash drive, restart the PC, press the ESC key to get the options menu.

    Select F10 system configuration to access the BIOS.

    Select the file menu > control system ROM Flash.  Select the USB flash drive.

    The PC will see the files on the flash drive.  Follow the instructions to update the BIOS screen.

    In this way, it makes no difference what operating system you are running.

    A very important point... I read the last 2.29 installing BIOS causes problems with the W10.

    There is a post on the forum about who...

    I use v2.28 on my HP 8200 Elite CMT and have no problem at all on W10.

    I have read that post and decided to not update the BIOS to v2.29.

  • Division by zero weird problem on HP 8200 Elite SFF

    Greetings,

    I posted my message here, it appears now that my problem is hardware specific.  My machine has the following specifications:

    HP Compaq 8200 Elite SFF
    Intel Core i5-2500 Duo @3.3 GHz processor
    8 GB memory

    Windows 7 x 64

    (I can provide more details if necessary)

    This has been me puzzled for more than a week now!

    We have an application where we lack in a division by zero. That request is deliberately built to raise exceptions in this case, with a call to the function _controlfp_s for edit masks on floating point exceptions.

    Now, when you run in a division by zero pretty much all of our machines, Visual Studio 2005 debugger breaks in the right place in our source files. However, on this machine, the location of the break is in every sense and seems to be unrelated to the real cause of the failure. So as a test, I built a simple win32 C program with just the following lines of code:

    int main (int argc, char * argv [])
    {
    float temp1, temp2, temp3;
    unsigned int control;

    _controlfp_s (& control, _EM_UNDERFLOW + _EM_INEXACT, _MCW_EM);

    Temp1 = 1.0;
    Temp2 = 0.0;
    Temp3 = temp1/temp2;

    return 0;
    }

    On all these 'good' machines, the code breaks when the temp3.  Among the other machines tested successfully, I had various hardware and operating systems, including Server 2008 R2, Windows XP x 32 and Windows 7 Pro x 64.  However, on this machine, the code stops at:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\crt\src\tidtable.c

    function:

    __set_flsgetvalue()

    In reviewing the records I have change the assembler code, everything seems fine until I hit the "ptsps" statement... then all records seem to be messed up (vs research as expected on a good machine). When comparing the stack on the good vs. bad, I also see entries of pile on the wrong machine, I don't see a good...

    Now... Here's what I did to solve problems:
    1. a disc image of the original disc HP on a hot spare and the original picture restored.
    2. only installed Visual Studio 2005 Pro - portion of C++.
    3 - tested above, code has always failed.

    4 - update all service packs Windows and tested above code.  Failed.

    5 - update all service packs, the Studio 2005 and tested above code. Failed.

    6 uninstalling all the bloatware and tested above code. Failed.

    7 - updating the BIOS and firmware and tested above code. Failed.

    8. install Visual Studio 2010 and tested above code. Failed.

    Then... I decided to take my spare disk image and install it on a similar, but a little older HP computer that we have, which has the following specifications:

    HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF
    Intel Core Duo E8400 #3 GHz
    4 GB memory

    I went through the process of installation very well, even though she used the typewriter 8200 recovery partition.  On this machine, I simply installed the operating system and Visual Studio 2005 Pro - portion of C++.  No service packs not whatsoever (even if the Studio 2005 requires an update for 'vista') and the code worked as expected!

    So, that leaves me about almost everything but the material!  Also note that I tried to disable several processors and all optimization of the BIOS on the 8200, without success.

    I don't see anything else I can try... Please help!

    Wow!

    After the posting of this message to a friend... He found a document showing very similar symptoms on some of their CPUs from intel... I then found the exact document who applied to our specific processor (intel i5-2500) here:

    http://www.Intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/specification-updates/2nd-Gen-core-desktop-specification-update.PDF

    See Erratum BJ1

    I checked all the documents on the website of HP but still can not find how to connect and allow the second monitor BIOS for hp 8200 elite sff? Or where is a user manual?

    Again, the computer is a model of enterprise class regardless of its use in a domestic environment. Many computers of class business use specific hardware environment and is not generally used in a domestic environment. Again, can be best answer to your question in the HP Business Support Forum.

    To get help without going through the business forum... According to the specification, this model supports a legacy of VGA analog channels and a modern digital DisplayPort port. Two of these ports get their signals integrated Intel graphics subsystem. The DisplayPort port will require an adapter unless the monitor has also a display port. If the computer has been ordered with an alternative graphics or one card has been installed everything changes.

    Please provide a photo of the back of your computer, showing the VGA port and all ports nearby. Also provide brands and models monitors that you are trying to use with this computer.

    Hello

    I recently bought a HP Compaq 8200 Elite SFF and want to update the graphics card. My friend has a MSI Nvidia GTX 770 2 GB graphics card in sales and I was wondering if it would be compatible with my PC. I said I'll need to upgrade to the power. Will it be possible? If the graphics card of my friend is not compatible with my PC, what is the best graphics card (ideally a similar to the MSI Nvidia GTX 770 specs/price range) which will be compatible?

    Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hello

    Disconnect the PC and press and hold power for 30 seconds. Remove and replace the battery CMOS. It's a $4 item. Now let's see what happens. If no joy, then try the steps above once again.

    If your PC support has been changed or modified then put it back in its original state.

  • DC7700 SFF BIOS support

    My father has just bought a PC HP Compaq DC7700 SFF (Small Form Factor) used and refurbished and we get an error whenever the computer places.  It reads "BIOS ME Extension stopped Module.  I did some research on Google, and it seems that the error indicates that the BIOS and the BIOS Extension ME are out of sync, which means that their versions do not match.  We are a bit surprised, it was not addressed prior to packaging for resale upward, but nevertheless we are here.  The computer came with Windows 7 Home Premum 64 - Bit.  It is the source of the problems.  Everything I read says to use a BACK program called "FlashBin" to Flash the BIOS with the latest version.  Whenever we try to run the program, it errors saying incompatile architecture (he wants to x 86).  We tried other things is manually creating a BOOT partition on a USB Flash drive and try to run the program to start BACK, but it does not, saying no found BOOTMGR or something.  Another option I found is that the BIOS has a setting called something like "Flash BIOS update" and asked where to find the file. CD-ROM or USB.  When we put on the USB flash utility, BIOS indicates the key USB is corrupted or damaged.  This also happens when we just updated BIOS. BIN file on the USB key with nothing else.

    We are really lost here.  As I said, this is a factory refurbished PC and we would really like to get this annoying error message to go outside every time we start.  Can someone help me please?  Thank you!

    Hello:

    You can read some of the posts offered on reset the cmos on your PC.

    Reset the cmos works the same on the dc7700.

    http://h30499.www3.HP.com/T5/business-PCs-Compaq-Elite-Pro/me-error-on-Compaq-dc5800/TD-p/940477#.UvFtmemPK9I

    If you want to try the update the ME firmware suggestions, you must use the files to download on the dc7700 under section BIOS support page and I wouldn't update the firmware if you have to do in Windows for the same reason that you would not run an update of the BIOS under Windows.

    I hope that the reset cmos will work for you.

    I have never had this problem on any of my dc7xxx as PC, if unfortunately I won't be able to help you with specific measures to be taken regarding the update the firmware.
