8600 wireless HP OfficeJet Pro problems

Started having problems with scanning. Then problems printing from my office - cannot find the printer. Uninstalled / reinstalled the HP software / drivers; Desktop computer is still unable to find the printer - installation: IP address is either incorrect, or there is another wireless network that has the same name as your network.

I checked the following:

The IP of my desktop computer and printer are the same except the last number

The doctor HP Scan and printing see the printer and indicates that everything is working normally

I can see the printer through the web browser and the IP address of the printer to my desktop

I can print to the printer wireless to my laptop and iPad

The only problem is the configuration of the printer on my desktop and actually impression of him.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Spent 4 hours with a HP printer Tech... still unresolved (tech was however well informed). Believe that the root cause of the problem is on the PC to the printer. Advised to hire the technical support on the HP PC. $99 worn on Support for the office as being more on maintenance. Could not get the technician to connect remotely to the desktop (although the printer technology have no problems - note that they used different products)... after 2 hours tech advised to restore the PC to an earlier date and remind.

I followed the advice of restoration; Unfortunately, none of the images could be restored. In troubleshooting procedures to restore via google I came across an article about winsock and could sometimes be corrupted and cause several inexplainable problems / errors. I have reset winsock using Windows7 instructions and was able to get the printer using the normal instructions without restoring the work PC.

Well that frustrated as Tech at HP were not aware of the possibility of a corrupted winsock causing these issues, HP did reimburse most of the cost of the support call.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600: USB connected OfficeJet Pro 8600: scanning on a network: is it possible?

    Hello world.

I have a 8600 OfficeJet Pro connected to a computer via the usb port. This computer is running Windows 7 Professional and is connected to an ethernet network.

The printer is shared with other computers (currently running either Win & and XP Pro) connected to the network can view and print to the printer without problem. However, there is no option for network computers to scan from the 8600. This option is available on the computer that is connected to the printer via the USB port.

Network scanning is possible even if, in this configuraiton or if the printer must be connected to the network via ethernet or Wi - Fi to take advantage of this feature?

    Thank you.

It is better to simply connect a network cable from the printer or turn on wireless (so both as a printer usb to the computer and the printer to network for the rest).

Hi all.  Hoping that someone out there has experienced and solved the problem, I will describe.  We have a desktop computer with Windows XP Dell, a Dell laptop with Windows 8 and several iPhone 4.  We also have a quantum Verizon FIOS router, which we installed a week ago.  (We were able to print to the printer HP of all of our devices, once the new router has been installed).  Until today, all of our devices connected to the router and our range of HP printers.  Today, we cannot print anything for the HP printer.  We uninstalled and reinstalled the printer software.  We have followed all the steps HP print and Scan doctor.  We have unplugged the printer and the router and plugged them both back.  We rebooted all electronic devices.  We ran the network Test on the printer wireless and did get the message 'no problem found.  Congratulations on the success of your wireless printer setup. "All the results of the test came as a 'PASS '.  Still no luck.  The printer is 'offline' and none of our electronic devices even recognize it.  Any help would be welcome!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus: HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus - Can no longer print with my Mac

I have been using a printer HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus via my MacBook Pro (OS X Yosemite version 10.10.4) for about two years with no problems until recently.  Since a few days ago, I'm more able to print wireless, despite the fact that the printer is connected to the network.  Interestingly, the print queue reflects the print job completed, but pages do not print.  In my attempts to solve the problem, I have (i) restore factory settings and re-written information of network required on the printer; (ii) disconnected the printer and waited five minutes;  (iii) unplugged and reset the router. (iv) deleted and reinstalled the software and drivers printer on my laptop.  My laptop is in communication with the printer as evidenced by my ability to scan using HP Scan wireless, but I'm unable to print the document once it is scanned.  Finally, I am able to print the network settings Page in the menu of the printer, but not the printer web page... I get an error message saying 'the printer is busy. Try again later.  Any ideas to fix this frustrating problem would be greatly appreciated.  I apologize if my descriptions are not technically accurate because I am a novice when it comes to computers and networks.  Thanks a lot for your help.

Thank you for your response and suggestions. I really appreciate it.  You beat me to the punch... only a few hours ago, I was able to get the printer working again... but I forgot to update my post.  As you recommended, I have reset the printing system, downloaded a new driver... hpprinterdriver3.1.dmg... added a new printer... restart the printer, my router and my laptop... and the printer from work once again from my Mac.  Yet once again, I appreciate your efforts... Bravo.

After that I have upgraded to Windows 10 and Word 2016, envelope and label printing feature would no longer work on all-in-one printer, HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Premium.  Please provide any possible solution.

    Hi @dshirley22,

    Thanks for the response back.

I would at this point uninstall all previously installed printer software. If you need assistance, here is a document that can help - uninstalling the software of the printer (Windows).

Once the software is uninstalled, use the HP printer installation wizard to help install the software. This tool will search and find the version of the drivers and the printer software up-to-date.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: MacBook Pro does not print wirelessly for Officejet Pro 6830

I used to have an old HP Officejet 7210 who was once able to print wirelessly from my MacBook pro, but at some point, wasn't able to do wireless and had to print with usb connection.

For Black Friday, we bought an Officejet Pro 6830 and on internet I downloaded the latest driver for my MacBook Pro and my windows laptop of wifes and our desktop PC. The mobile office and windows had no problem, but once more, I was not able to print wireless from the MacBook Pro. When I try to print wireless the printer dialogue indicates he's trying to deal with and then it says "the printer is currently in use". So I'll still have to plug the USB to print with this new printer is less than a month.

I was able to print the wireless test page and he noted that the test page bypassed print drivers. In addition, I am able to go into the printer utilities and see how much ink, I have and the various settings of the printer but I just cannot print documents from applications wireless.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a: HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a - Print when Fax is not saved

Can I do so a fax is printed when it is not registered?

I know that I can put to print and save every time, but I trust HP digital fax to save paper.

If a fax is not registered, either because of a network error, or if the computer that logs usually in is cut off, can just fax be printed?

@MrMeow, it's nice to meet you.

I think I found something that can help your fax dilemma.

This information has been in the User Guide for the Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one - N911a; PG 69.

    Set up backup fax

According to your needs best and security, you can configure the printer to store all faxes it receives, only faxes it receives while the printer is in an error condition, or none of the faxes it receives.

The following fax backup modes are available:

On >  The default setting. When backup fax is enabled, the printer stores all faxes received in memory. This allows you to reprint up to eight more recently printed faxes if they are always saved in the memory.

NOTE: When the memory of the printer is low, it replaces faxes print, older because it receives new faxes. If the memory is full of unprinted faxes, printer stop to answer incoming fax calls.

NOTE: If you receive a fax that is too large, as a very detailed color photo, it cannot be stored in memory due to limitations of memory.

Error only > Causes the printer to store faxes in memory only if there is an error condition that prevents the printer to print the faxes (for example, if the printer is out of paper). The printer continues to store incoming faxes, as long as the memory is available. (If the memory is full, the printer stops responding to incoming fax calls). When the error condition is resolved, the faxes stored in memory automatically, print and then they are deleted from the memory.

Off >  Faxes are never stored in memory. For example, you might want to disable fax backup for security reasons. If an error condition occurs which prevents the printer to print (for example, tracks paper printer), the printer stops responding to incoming fax calls.

NOTE: If the backup fax is turned on and you turn the printer off, all faxes stored in memory are deleted, including any unprinted faxes that you might receive while the printer was in an error condition. You must contact the senders asking them to return the unprinted faxes. To get a list of faxes that you have received, print the Fax log. The Fax journal is not removed when the printer is off.

To set backup fax from the printer control panel

1 tap (right arrow) and select Setup.

    2. press Fax Setup, and then click Advanced fax setup.

    3. press on the backup Fax reception.

    4. press on , error, or out of service.

Reprint of faxes received from memory

If you set backup fax mode to On, received faxes are stored in memory, whether the printer has an error condition or not.

NOTE: After that the memory is full, the oldest faxes, prints are replaced as new faxes are received. If all stored faxes are not printed, the printer does not receive fax calls until you print or erase memory faxes. You can also delete the faxes in memory for purposes of confidentiality or security.

According to the sizes of the faxes in memory, you can reprint up to eight more recently printed faxes, if they are still in memory. For example, you will need to re - print your faxes if you have lost the copy of your last draw.

To reprint the faxes in memory from the printer control panel

    1. make sure you have loaded paper in the main tray.

2 tap (right arrow) and select Setup.

    3. touch Tools , or Faxand then select reprint faxes in memory. The faxes are printed in reverse order, where they were received with the most recently received fax printed first, and so on.

    4. If you want to stop reprinting the faxes in memory, press the Cancel button.

Please let me know if these steps solved your problem, or if there is anything else I can do to help.

I look forward to hear from you!

    Thank you

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus: HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer-

HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer-

Tried to copy both sides of a vehicle using ADF permit; paper too small (stupid user!); he copied the first side successfully. Now, I can't find the input document! How can I remove paper (which I can't find) which was too small for the auto feed?  It is not in the duplex unit, either.

    Hi @Dick_27,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I appreciate that you try to remove the paper in your printer more HP Officejet 8600. I'm sorry to hear that, but happy to help!

Please have a look through this guide, A display of the "Paper jam" error on the HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one printer series.

As well as this guide. The ADF (ADF) documents didn't pick up paper.

  • C9297A-hardware issue wireless HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809

I removed the printhead cyan/magenta yesterday to manually clean print heads.  Today printed Self Test diagnostic page, then tried to print the print quality diagnostics page and the jammed paper. When I opened the top, the print head Assembly was arrested a little right of Center.  Next to it is an approx. 3-1/2 "thin metal bar attached somewhere on the front of printer. bar a hook on the free end that runs through a small slit in a 2 "x 1/4" piece of black rubber with ridges on it. I have a picture...

My question is, is the rubber belt broken or is the hook of thing supposed to attach to something, all of the above or none of the above; and can it be repaired at a relatively low cost, like max $50-75? Thanks, Debwillard

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, the belt that holds the broken son, and HP told me it was an irreplaceable part.  They offered me a reconditioned HP OfficeJet Pro 8100 at a satisfactory price.  I must say that I am VERY VERY happy that I got the 8100, because it's a lot better than the 8000 printer.   Everything is better. Ink cartridges are much easier to install; Printing speed is fast; paper jams were virtually nonexistent.  It saved me a wealth of anguish and frustration. My 8000 is now on the ground with the papers and records stacked on it.  One day I'll get the water and lift away, but I'm too busy right now to care.

  • 8600 Communication HP OfficeJet Pro wireless problem

When I try to print or scan, I get a message that the printer/scanner cannot communicate with the network.  The antenna network icon shows that I am connected to the network.  With the print and scan of doctor utility, I checked that there is at least a connection to the wireless network.  Address and logon credentials are correct.

The utility shows that there are 2 network connections - that I am connected to watch a 60% signal strength and the other that I'm not connected, a signal strength of the 68%.

I'm normally able to scan and print normally once every two sessions that require this functionality.

The HP 8600 has automatically been setup using the thah software supplied with the printer without any problems.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

    Hi Gemini02!

I had the opportunity to try the fix several times and every time I managed.  It looks like a good solution.

When you did uninstall it and reinstall, did you use a download from hp.com for the re - install?  Otherwise, you could try doing a complete uninstall and then use a download from hp.com for installing the driver.  Click here

If this does not help, I recommend you contact HP to Contact HP worldwidesupport.  They should be able to help understand you what is happening.  It would be good if the agent is able to your computer remotely and all check.
