  I have 2 Win 7 Pro systems implemented on a working group that is not part of a domain (on XP it was no problem to set up a home network, not a business network). However, Win 7, although it gives the option under system, network ID properties, joining a domain or a workgroup, it fails to really accept the parameters of working group. After the reboot, it is always default to a Business Network setting. It's very frustrating because security seems to be much more rigorous to manage communication; sharing, etc.

  There must be a solution to this. Someone has the answer to get systems to settle and remain in a workgroup about.

  Since then you have only really two choices (workgroup or domain) and to join a domain - servers any must be involved...  I think that there is a lack of communication here.
   
  A "working group" is really - even with all the recent stuff - just a bunch of stand-alone computers with the same name.  John and Jane Smith Mikey - for example.  It can * help * simplify some shares in all areas of resources, but is not as a true area - where they share not only the same name - but many of the underlying parameters is pushed down by a central control entity (server).
   
  So - let's make sure that you are talking about the same thing that you seem to believe that you are.
   
  In the desktop menu or start - right click on "Computer" and choose "Properties".  This should open this folder: 'configuration\systeme and Security\System control. "  -"Computer name, domain and workgroup settings" should be things foure - please list those in response to this announcement.
   
  You can even JOIN a domain with a server being involved and demand - if...

• Get "authentication error" for a device that is not in the OME

  I'm really stuck here. We have over 15,000 "authentication failure" for a device that is not listed in the section "devices." That's why I'm unable to remove this device. The alert is displayed with the ip address that points to a live device (Equallogic member).

  Here's what I've done so far:

  When I try to "ignore this device only" I get an error saying that there is no mechanism for this alert. When we look at the device ID in the database table is displayed as -1

  The goal is to have the reporting of Equallogic in OME and when I add the Group and the Member (which is using this ip address) the device adds ok. But the Alerts continue to occur (showing the correct DNS name this time).

  I then removed the discovery range devices but alerts keep coming (with ip address).

  So for me, it looks like this device got stuck somewhere in the OME and is accessible, although there is no device. But I don't see it came from. These alerts are just a pain and I need to find a way to get rid of it.

  Please is - can anyone enlighten us in this strange behavior. We are on OME 1.2.0.3441

  Well I can confuse or missing some subtle detail here.

  When it comes to SNMP alerts, OME don't communicate with the target, the target device sends an alert to OME.  So if OME Gets a rogue alert in the alert/event console, this is because the device is pointing to the OME IP for sending traps.

  You looked at the target device SNMP parameters itself?

  Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

  If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

  • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

    then select restart with disabled modules.

  • In previous versions of Firefox, click on the Firefox button in the upper left of the Firefox window and click help (or click on help in the Menu bar, if you do not have a Firefox button) and click on restart with disabled modules.

  If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

  • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode

  If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

  To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

  When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

  1 - do you mean that you get the green screen even in safe mode?

  2 did you recent hardware or software changes to your computer before this problem?

  If you are unable to start desktop even in safe mode, then you try to perform the verification and startup repair.

  The 'volume' is a hard disk, a partition on a hard drive or a storage as a USB device.

  OS X automatically saves your document frequent while you work on it. If the volume of the device / it records on a summer formatted to allow 'versioning', you will be able to use Time Machine to open previous versions of your document. If it has not been formatted like that, you get the message see you, and only the current version of the document will be saved.
