• How to apply the new Master Page to all subjects?

  Dear all:

  I work with RH8 to create the CHM, HTML Help file as main page layout.

  I create this new Master Page and want to apply to all subjects in the project, who are apparently a lot. And if I did a right click on each topic and choose 'Properties of the section' and the master page, one by one, it would be painful.

  So, it is possible to apply the new Master Page to all subjects in one fell swoop?

  If you click Display > pods > list of topics, you should see the pod Willam speaks. And inside this pod, you're able to press Ctrl + A to select all subjects. And it is certainly a valid way to associate several topics in the Master Page.

  Here's another one. If you look at the recipe for the presentation of unique Source of WebHelp, you should see an option that allows you to associate a master to all subjects Page as the result is created.

• Page style changing page to page (fonts, positioning), even with the same master page.

  OK, Ive never noticed this before. Here's the question.

  I have elements such as fonts, positioning evolution page by page. Even when they share the same master page.

  For example. In my footer using fonts im 'A' with focus on my positioning jig.  I'm using this master page for my map of the whole of the site.

  When I publish the site and go to other pages are 'A' becomes Ariail or default, loses all the attributes style and is now turned to the left.

• Hide drop-down list in the Section of Pages in Pivot mode

  I have a condition of report where I need to use columns in the section of Pages in Pivot mode, but I need to hide the display so that it cannot be displayed to the user.
  Is there a way we can achieve this. I am able to hide the values inside the hidden option or by giving the white police and in color, but the drop still exists. I want to hide even the drop-down list also, the user does not know that there is no drop-down list. I can't remove the pivot as my report depends on these columns showing rolling months of data. There are a lot of customization in this report, can you get it someone please let me know no work around for this problem.

  Hi Karthik,

  You can hide the fall down by adding the css code.

  In responses, add a static text / narrative view and Add (enable html) code below

  otherwise in the dashboard add text and enter the code above it...
  This will hide the drop down.

• Import multiple Word documents of several pages with the same master page?

  Hi, I should start by saying that I have no experience with script.  However, I wonder if there is a simple script for the following problem:

  I created a master page with three linked text boxes. Right now, I use Cmd + D to select a file in word, and then Shift + click in the first box to place the text on the page. But I have 125 pages that are exactly the same, just different layout Word files to import. I could repeat this process 125 times, but I wonder if there is a way to tell InDesign to create 125 pages using the Master Page X and a for each import file?

  I use InDesign CS5 v 7.0.4 on Mac OS x Snow Leopard 10.6.7 v

  I'm sorry. The problem is that InDesign treats the two pages of the spread of master together, I guess you have to make a few hoop jump. Try this, then:

• Sidehead: stand on the L/R master pages but not the other master pages

  Hello!

  I struggled tonight all and can't seem to make it work. I wish I had room for a sidehead on my L/R pages in my document face page but I would like to than my master 'first Page of chapter' page for not having a sidehead: I would like to than the text on this one page to span the entire width of the text block.

  When I try to put in place, however, the first page of the chapter has the sidehead, even if it does appear its text block to have a sidehead when I discover its master page.

  What is strange, is that the area of sidehead of master page isn't even the same size as the sidehead who appeared on the pages of L/R, it is much wider.

  Can someone tell me the process for allowing no room for a sidehead on the first page of the chapter (with the master page from "First Page of the chapter"), but after sideheads on the following pages belong to L/R master pages?

  Sideheads are a feature of document, i.e. the entire document level either has them or not, put on the page are not only specific.

  To get the first page view not the sideheads, you probably use paratags which are defined to cover all of the columns and the sideheads, tags that is customized for the first page only.

• Unable to find the function "move to the foreground master page". Where can I find it?

  I have a master page with a clear navigation menu. But if I add a slideshow full screen on my homepage, the navigation menu is in the background. I know that there is a feature where you can get the content of the masterpage in the foreground, but for some reason, this feature does not appear in the drop-down list < object >. The version I used is the version 15.2. My question is: How can I get this feature appears in the drop-down list object so I can use it?

• Need to fix the upstairs master page items on various page sizes?

  I'm creating wireframes in Indesign. I have a master page with menu, logos and others at the top of a web page (1024 x 768) of standard size. I want to create additional templates based on the same menu (etc.), but different lengths. (1024 x whatever) to show more content. But when I try to add a different size of master based on the main master he places the menu in the middle of the new page, not at the top. How can I keep the menu locked up? Thank you!

  is it possible to select items from master page by name or label (InDesign CS 5.5, javascript)?

  I tried a lot of combinations, for example.itemByName("NAME");.item("name"), but none of them worked for me. I was able to select a frame by its index ("... masterPageItems [0];").

  You can not. myPage.masterPageItems is table of page elementsand not a collection.

  You need to loop through all the elements of the master page and search for items you want,

  or find maybe apply the master page, and then do something like this:

  myPage.appliedMaster.pageItems.itemByName ("NAME");

• You can print only the pages from the specific master page?

  I'm laying a big enough technical book using InDesign CS4 and need to print evidence of pages that use a specific custom master page. Rather than scroll the window to the Page and write the page numbers that use this specific basic form, I would have a quick way to do it. If someone knows a way to do this through script or other means, I would really appreciate the help. Thank you!

• The single Master Page spread value

  Hi guys, noob on inDesign scripting of apple and hoped someone could help me. I'm stuck trying to figure out how to put the first master spread in the document on a single page. I managed to create two new spreads masters with simple pages or face, although I can not change the first. I'm sure it's something simple I'm missing, but for the life me I can't see it.

• The section of text marker

  I'm trying to get an overview of all the paragraphs of a document so I can extract their geometric limits.

  I am running questions when it comes to a section marker. To the sub section marker reads 'Objective 1'. If I look at the content of the paragraph, activeDocument.textFrames [x] .paragraphs [y] .silence, I get a space character. It seems obvious to me that "" is not equal to "objective 1".  So, it seems that the paragraph does not point to the special character itself or the content it contains.

  If I try to create a schema of this paragraph the script generates an error. How can I access the 'Objective 1' text that is in the special character? If I right click "objective 1" the GUI gives me an option to "convert numbering to text', of course, is not a method of a standard paragraph.". So what type of object contains the method "Convert numbering to text"?

  When you click on the Plus sign next to a master page to create another master page, it does not inherit the master page objects. It simply creates an empty template. If you want the new master page to inherit the objects, then right-click on the desired master page and choose 'duplicate page.

  I have a document of identity have been I have two masters (propagation) pages but my pages are unique pages. If initially, when I created master pages, it only works on all other pages, so I duplicated it and place the content of the first page master on the second page master.

  I ran into a problem when I go on change something on the master page (like naked an object above), because my pages are simple rather that extend, if travel off road Center. I tried to delete a master page and its works, but only for the odd number pages, because the evens have been ordered by the second master page.

  Is it possible to convert a master to a page alone, or at least a link to the single master page numbered pages?

  Nevermind I figured out that remove a car linked to the others, however, some of them would not be updated because the object I want to move has been locked on the page in question. If some even number pages changed, it's just those specific with a lock on the object on this page which would not update.

  I work for our new models of project with master pages and have found what appears to be several major problems:

  1 when I make changes in the Master Page (.htt file), none of those changes propagate to the topics that have been attributed to this Master Page. He shouldn't do that?

  2. as an alternative, I tried to apply a Master Page to several topics on the pod to the list of topics. The first problem with this is that you can not apply the existing Master Page. So, I had to create a new Master Page with my changes and then tried to apply it. However, several problems occur. First of all, none of the new Master Page formatting appears correctly. Second, for some reason it is duplicate the breadcrumbs at the top of the page (each master page, before and after only had a breadcrumb). It seems to have combined some of the formatting both before and after the template.

  I must also point out that when I apply the Master Page with changes to a new topic, it works correctly.

  I have read the documentation carefully and that you feel that I'm doing this correctly. The problem seems to be that the feature does not as promised. I see this as a serious problem. Our models are likely to change over time, and I need the ability to apply changes massively.

  Anyone know what could be the problem?

  You must first understand Master Pages are used in two completely different ways. Looks like you make changes to the space reserved for the body of the Page Master and expected to see changes influence-related topics. Sorry, but that never worked.

  There are therefore two ways Master Pages are designed to work in RoboHelp.

  Method 1 - used to infuence the EXISTING content.

  Maybe you have created 1,000 and now you want to add a header, footer, or both to these existing entries. You set a Master Page and add a header, footer, or both to the Page Master and you associate it with topics. All of these topics now have a header or footer. Any changes made to the header and/or footer is filled throughout with all related topics.

  Method 2 - used to influence the new items that you create.

  You may know that you want to create many subjects that should have the same look and feel. Maybe all of them begin with a table that contains an image and text. So you set a Master Page and configure the space reserved for the body you want to see it. When you create new topics, you point to the Master Page so that as the topics are created, the content of the body of the Page master is filled in on the subject as a starting point. Once the topic has been created initially, the changes to the Master Page ARE NOT reflected in the topics. This method works identically to make a copy of a document. The copy is identical to the original. And any changes made to the original will be never copied during the copy. Only NEW copies will receive the changes.

  The breadcrumbs go, you have probably GLOBAL breadcrumbs activated in the recipe for the presentation of a single Source. This means that everything gets crumbs during the creation of the exit process. If you try to use the SELECTIVE Breading by adding space to the Page master, you must disable the breadcrumbs GLOBAL to avoid double.
