A HARD drive has failed in a RAID1

I have an IX2 - dl and 2 X 3 to disks configured as RAID1. I received notice that one of the drives has failed. Instead of replace the failed drive, I want to 2 X 4 to also be configured as RAID1. I know how to install the disks and all that. I was wondering if I could still read that the content of the working group still 3 TB drive in a PC?

Hello tangwong,

Here are a few links to knowledge base articles that should help you:

https://Lenovo-na-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/30797

It is not really possible for the average user to mount these disks on a PC and read because there is a firmware on the disk partition and file system is based on Linux.

  • My hard drive has failed. I have Microsoft XP media center edition 2005. How can I get a recovery disk?

I had a hard disk crash.  I don't care about data loss, but I bought a new hard drive and you want to install Windows XP media center edition 2005.  I have a sticker on the side of my pc with the product code.  How can I get a recovery disk?  Download the program from another PC?

As your original failed hard drive, you would of course not be able to access any partition contained on this hard drive recovery.  Therefore, your best option is to contact the manufacturer of the computer and see if you can get the installation of their own media.

I did a scan on his hard drives and the optimized hard drvie dst check failed. Failure ID is OGFB6C-000836-9XJ2XA-615903. Can someone tell me where I go from here? Do I have to get a new hard drive, ect? Thank you.

    Jenna, welcome to the forum.

I think that the hard drive has failed.  This is the Troubleshooting section for the hard drive.  I suggest following the guide on the test it.  If she shows that it does not, your only option is to replace it.  Here's a guide to help you replace it.  You must make sure that the new hard drive is the same size or larger than the existing one.

Please click on the button + Thumbs up if I helped you and click on accept as Solution If your problem is resolved.

  • optimized hard drive dst failed

My HP Touchsmart retained the slightest mistake and duty restart itself. Ran the chkdsk and says it has found errors. I rebooted the computer tried to safe mode by pressing F8 and nothing happened.
Now when I turn on it top in turn, but rail as his Windows installation in the factory default, it-error after 3% saying that it can not install and restart my computer.
After reboot, I hit F2 to getto the diagnostic screen and run the hard drive test and he fails to say "optimized hard drive dst has failed."
What I read, I guess that the hard drive has failed, I'm sure I'll have to replace it, but the problem is that I can't order a replacement for her drive because theres no CD-ROM only drive on the laptop.
