A license test environment

Hello

Please can you confirm if one license of Coldfusion Enterprise 2016 can be used for a test environment (QA), but also a one production? Serve the same number of series/product key in two facilities?

If possible please could Adobe official staff contact me by e-mail send it confirmation to my company's licensing team.

Thanks in advance!

I believe that the contract (EULA) for the most recent releases of ColdFusion (10, 11, and 2016) specifically allow the use of a unique serial number for a production server as well as an additional server test/qa/development stage (as long as it's on a private - network not exposed to the internet.  Here is a link to the EULA for ColdFusion 2016: http://wwwimages.adobe.com/content/dam/acom/en/legal/licenses-terms/pdf/ColdFusion-2016.pd f.  See section 3.2.1.

In the past, Adobe staff have confirmed that you simply enter the same serial number on the testing server.

    Hello

I would liketo configuration from a test environment for DBA in my office.
There will be no license cost for downloading of Oracle's OTN to install in my test environment.
Let me put it like this... So I mean to test the installation of Oracle 11 g (imagine I do not have a license for g 11)... Do I have to purchase a license for this...
When I want to test... I just want to test the Installation...
If I want to try to tell another one... as a 2 node rac on vmware server... do I license for this... I know that it doesn't require the license if its for my personal system... However if its in my office we need a license?

Please provide me with your valuable contributions...

    Asif Kabir,
Pay close attention to these statements. I wouldn't make such a statement on a forum.

    Renjith,
You should check with the Oracle Sales person dealing with your organization.
You can see some guidelines of
    1. the software investment Guide and price to http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/pricing/index.html list
    2. the developer license in the download page on http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/indexes/downloads/index.html#database
    See http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/indexes/downloads/index.html and
http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/TestContent/standard-license-088383.html (it's the current version - it may change, always check the latest version online).

However, you should also consult your Oracle Sales person. Licenses and quantities are negotiated.

  • Set up test environment for 8.6 CUCM

We currently have CUCM 6.1.5 and it is expandable to 8.6.  I want to set up a test environment for our 6.1.5 of the migration on the database to 8.6 for the test.  However, when I go to download/order the product upgrade tool software it states that the software upgrade.  I guess I can't install a stand-alone installation 8.6 because it would take me install 6.1.5 and then upgrade.  Is this correct?

    Hi Eric,.

The media may say 'upgrade', but on the DVD .iso image file can be used for the construction

    a standalone 8.6 so version

  • vSan on home test environment

    Hello

Does anyone know if vSAN requires special hardware? I have 3 guests in my home test, with processors AMD FX and MSI mainborads. I understand that vSAN requires flash drives, one on each host at least, but before you buy, I want to know if vSAN requires special hardware. I don't think he does, but some comments from someone who has tested is very appreciated. Thank you!

I guess the answer is Yes, it requires a special material commodities.  In a production environment, you should stick to the VMware HCL, who moved to prepared knots instead of individual pieces.

For a test environment to home and want only to test the functionality, you can either fake a spinning HD SSD or nested ESXi.  Check Cormac, Duncan, and Lam for how to do this.  Thank you, Zach.

  • To build a 5.5 test environment

Im trying to build a test environment with 5.5 and having a problem installing vCenter on a virtual machine.

The host is a G7 ML110 and a lot of disks and RAM.

I have ESX 5.5 is installed and it works fine.

I have two win 2008 r2 virtual machines Setup and they work very well also.

I have no ads / configured DHCP or DNS server.

The question I have is that when I install vcenter he cancels SSO.

    I can't exceed SSO.

One any idea what could be the cause.

VCenter requires AD/DNS or are there other requirements when vcenter is installed on a stand-alone system on a virtual machine.

Thanks for the help on this.

I went back to the height and built a new domain and new host esxi and vCenter installed first time incl. SSO.

  • Running discovery failed in the test environment.

I have a layer of 5.7configured in two VCM plant newly installed in a test environment. Whenever I run the detection using AD, it fails when I try to specify the name of the computer that I want to add, it fails. I installed no agent of vcm on the test computer. I also tried race discovered by its IP address by specifying the IP address after the discovery, it lists all the servers in the subnet and it also says the State connection access is denied. Y at - it a doc detailed steps on how to correctly configure VCM first time in the environment.

The VCM Admin Guide contains initial configuration step by step information, and all assistants, such as the Discovery Wizard, have fairly detailed context-sensitive help. The online help is the main documentation for the VCM.

In case you, I think you two or three problems:

    1. you must add an administrative account network which will be eligible for the domain that you selected LDAP query and may directly contact the machines, if you selected this option. This is done under the authority of Administration\Settings\Network. Add the account to the accounts available, and attribute to him, by domain or group of computers all Machines.

2 (and maybe 3): write file system access denied message that you receive when you try to manually add a computer because either you are using a user account that does not have NTFS permissions to write to the Program Files (x 86) of \VMware\VCM\WebConsole\L1033\Files\Discovery_Files directory, or you use an administrator account that has rights , but you are running Internet Explorer on the manifold itself and have not started it "as Administrator" way UAC is blocking your right to write the file.

Not sure about the question of the UAC, but the rest of this figure in the Administrator's Guide.

  • Set up test environment for EBS

    Hi all!
We have r12 of installation on RHEL 5.7 servers with SAN storage and 11.1.0.7 database. What are best practices for the implementation of test environment to test patches, patches, etc. ? The test env to be an exact replica of the production facility? What happens if we can not longer get the same material as our env prod now (because of improvements in the technology of sellers, etc.)?
    Thanks in advance!

Your TEST/Patch instance has not necessarily need match your production in terms of the hardware specification. You must, however, make sure that you run on the same OS and updates. Instance of the UAT is one that should run on hardware identical (or very similar) to the production.

Please see old topics for similar topic/debate.

  • Copy of VM's to the test environment

I'm working on a project to create a test environment with a copy of three servers that exist currently in production.  The production and the test environment both run ESX 4.0.  The production environment runs on blades with iSCSI storage, the test environment will be a stand-alone physical server with enough disk space and RAM to run the three VM.  The test environment will be moved to a laboratory test on a separate network cannot be routed.

I have the new side of VMware and my questions do I need to copy all of the files belonging to the VM (vmdk, vmx, vmxf, vswp), that I need to copy the logs also?

use VMware Converter to convert to virtual appliance, and then import the virtual appliance in the new environment by using the Client vSphere4.

  • How do we reuse the vmmark test environment?

    Dear Sir.

We have built a VMMARK test environment and completed the test on my dock.

If we want to run the test on another platform, should rebuild us a VMMARK test for the new platform environment?

We had tried to leave the new platform to connect to iscsi of the old platform, but we have not found any virtual machine on the new platform.

If so, should reinstall us all the tiles on the new platform?

Could you give me some suggestions on this?

    Thank you!

    Hello

If you have attached storage even as what was used previously, and storage is visible to the new ESX host, then you will need to just 'register' the VMmark VM on the new ESX host.

One way to do this is through the Virtual Infrastructure client.

    1. connect to the new ESX host.

    2. click on the ESX host name (if necessary).

    3. click on the configuration tab.

    4. click on the storage option.

5 you should now see the storage that you used previously.  Right click on the name of the storage and choose "browse the data store.

    6. search for the virtual machines that you want, within their individual records must be an individual named "vmx" file  Right click on it an choose "add to the inventory.

That's all.  Remember to recreate your vSwitches as you had on the previous ESX host.

Finally, if you use ESX (not ESXi) you can do this via the command by navigating to the same folders and running line "vmware-cmd - s register Handy if you want the script operation.»

  • W2K3 test environment

I am trying to set up a server, w2k3 and xp client wihin vmware as a test environment. My host is xp pro. The problem I have is to establish communication between the customer's server and xp w2k3. I tried host only VMnet1 and VMnet8 NAT.  Know, I have two client xp and w2k3 server on VMnet8 (192.168.17.0). I put the server, w2k3 for 192.168.17.5 and dhcp disabled on this virtual network. I have installed dhcp on the w2k3 server and client xp is unable to renew an address from the w2k3 server. I created a snapshot prior to installation of the dhcp server on the w2k3 server and restored this snapshot. I then will restart the vmware dhcp server and restarted both virtual machines. I have set up folder sharing on the virtual xp machine and was able to access it from the machine of w2k3. What Miss me? I want to run the dhcp, dns and Announces Server virtual w2k3 and connect to the domain from the virtual xp client.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

What you want is to use a custom network and specify one of the switches (2-7, 9) unused VMnet network between your 2003 and XP virtual machines.  You can add a 2nd virtual NETWORK on the computer card 2003 virtual and the value that it is bridged or NAT and routing software... If you want this under network access to the outside world as well.

  • How will I know if I use virtual hosts in my local test environment?

I appreciate the help I get here, I don't really have. However, when I get answers in the form of questions that assume that I know what this person is talking about, I see nothing but more frustration.

How do I know if I am using virtual hosts?

What is a "root link"? Where would I look for, find or verify this?

Once again, I installed Apache, MySQL and PHP and had initially set up a successful local test environment that worked very well for a short period of time.

One day, something happened and when I make an effort to test a page while using DW8, I get this error in Firefox3:
The URL requested / .php [filename] could not be found on this server.

    In other cases, I get:
    "Sorry, unavailable database"

I so got the crazy idea to open pages in Firefox by double-clicking them in Windows Explorer and select Firefox from the menu "open with."

    Different result.

This time, the pages open, without errors, but none of the content appears. As if she opens the pages, but the database is not responding.

Look, I'm over my head, I know that. But I'VE learned until it happened. This has me completely obstructionisme and what I need is some advice clear and useful. I have NO IDEA where else to turn. The development of my site is to a sudden stop.

Y at - it a setting I might have screwed up in DW8?

Is there a MySQL configuration file that I need to check? If so, with what program?

I'm desperate. If there is no help here, please let me know where I could get help.

    Thank you.

  • Moving Consumer and Producer to the test environment.

    Hello

Move when the consumer and the producer WLP 9.2.1 applications from DEV environment for the test environment what are the steps that we must do in order to get all the Federated pages/books/portlets of consumption of the test environment? We using the same hostname in dev and test environment, simply by changing the ip address of the host in the backend.

Is that all we have to takecare specifically when we spread?

    Thanks in advance
    Rajesh

    Hello Renon,

For option 2, I believe that the steps would be:

    1. Consuming portlets from the producer of staging environment

    2. Set preferences in the portlet Federated on the consumer and the test, keep track of what preferences have been on portlets for step 5.

    3. Propagate from the intermediate producer to the producer if necessary production - as long as the same ears and wars are deployed on the production and staging of producers, spread may not be necessary if it is used only as a producer.

    4. Spread all the portlets intermediate consumer to the producer of the production. The propagation tool will spread Federated portlets, but when it installs them to the producer of the production, the spread of WLP 9.2 tool is to assume that it points to same instance of producer than intermediate consumers. Since this is not the case for your installation, all of the custom federated portlets will be broken on the consumer of the production. If you have configured the consumer of production with the same producer handle that you used in the staging environment, Federated portlets that have never custom should work after propagation.

    5. By using the administration tools, remove these custom federated portlets broken consumer of production and re-create them, adding the preferences of step 2 and add them in the appropriate pages.

Unfortunately, this is not a single task. Whenever you do not want to propagate staging to production, all custom federated portlet must be re-created on the production environment with appropriate preferences. This includes the portlets that you had changed a preference on and portlets that you had not changed the values preferably on since the last time that multiply you, because the propagation tool will overwrite these instances of portlet on the consumer of production with invalid portlet CCP handles.

WLP 10.0 and later, the steps are much easier - you would just run the tool in spreading on the producers, while consumers and any customizations would be automatically transferred from the staging to the production.

  • Differences in output when executing 11.3 unit test environment 12.2 MRLS?

    Hello

We do stable unit of an existing MRL 11.3 using 12.2 and get some Diffurences spacing of the variable field.

For example, we have a text box that prints "receive information: < < NAME > > and other entities..." output of 11.3, but 12.2 output we get:

"receive information: < < NAME > > and other entities..." where an additional empty space appears to be added between "n" and ":" and the end of the field and the next character.

    11.3-

    12.2-

    122-113 issue.JPG

The only thing that differs is the environment in which the MRL has been tested.

Everyone has similar problems, and how this has been addressed?

Are there other differences of output that have been documented somewhere for review?

    Thank you.

FSISYS PDF settings have been the cause.

Upgrading previous versions of Studio, PDF PrtType settings were not adjusted with the assumption of worms backward compatibility.

The FSISYS cleaning fixed the pdf rendering problems.
