  Network card in Windows Vista makes network diagrams of connections between network devices that can be used to troubleshoot connectivity issues. Network map uses a discovery protocol called Link-Layer Topology LLTD (Discovery) that queries other devices on the network to determine how the network is organized.

  Windows Vista includes the software components that implement the LLTD protocol. For other devices on the network to display on the map, they must activate a discovery protocol that can meet the demands of mapping from the Windows Vista-based computer.

  The product key on the back of your laptop is for what version of
  Windows it came with and may not be used for all other versions. If you
  don't have a product key for Vista or Windows 7, the laptop
  no doubt supplied with XP. Is this correct?

  If it came with XP, it is very old and it is almost certainly elsewhere
  low power for Windows 7. In addition the drivers you need for Windows
  7 there are almost certainly not, and you will not be able to run
  Windows 7 on it.

  At this point, you are probably in trouble no matter what you do. You
  must reinstall Windows XP itself, but you no longer have your
  product key and you probably haven't a Windows XP CD no more. You
  can try to ask the manufacturer of the laptop to a XP CD and product
  key, but I doubt if you can get at this late date.

  You can buy a copy of Windows 7, but once, you are likely in a way
  low power for the drivers you need and it will be unavailable.

  Well, the fact is that Windows Vista is not official on the market and there is a lot of necessary test. Moreover, Toshiba doesn't utter the graphics driver for Windows Vista at this time.   Judging by your post, it seems that Microsoft had technical problems when you tried to activate your copy of Vista by phone. Have you tried phoning the line Activation again?

  The normal procedure is that if the activation fails through the automated system, the call is transferred to a real person. It is the only available option if you get the error 'use existing product key'.

  I can only suggest that you try again the activation by phone and see what happens.

  Step 1 to 11 is for the classic disk cleanup which will give you back some disc FEPs.
  Step 12 until the end (more), is to delete all except the most recent restore points. This will give bring you a ton of disk space.
  ATTENTION: Make sure that your computer works OK because you delete restore points.
  You have no past point to fall up to restore more new restore points are created.

  Open Device Manager and look at the network cards.  What cards are present and they have their drivers, or they are in the wrong with a yellow! the brand?  If no network adapters are present, it may be listed as an unknown device without driver or a network controller.   Device - Manager find unknown devices

  On the other PC, see the page Web of Support downloads for the PC model to download the network card on a flash key you are using (Ethernet or wireless).  Transferer transfer on the Vista PC, install the adapter and see if you can get online.  If there is more of a network LAN driver is draw in Device Manager, the machine using material identification or download them all and try to install one at a time.

  Do the same for all the other pilots missing in Device Manager.

  Once online, speed up Windows updates in order to conform to the date that they ceased to support Vista.

  Report all results.
