A MAC & Windows XP Home Edition is hampered by viruses against interruptions MS.MS anti-virus 2011 down to viral load

Why the computer is so slow?

MS interrupts the download and warns him that Kaspersky has not been tested / approved by MS and that this software can completely disable our computer.

(Virus has already ruined one of our computers protected by Norton. All stored photos were lost)

MS security essentials and Kaspersky can interfere with each other.

MacAfee, advertising, a subsidiary of MS, as seems, appears at the beginning of each session.

Their advertising message is more important than my time on the computer!

Imagine! Firstly your computer is blocked, then you are directed to a MS owned anti-virus program to make contributions.

Isn't a warm protection racket?

Hi alexsalie,

  1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
  2. What is the exact error message that you receive when you download files from the internet?
  3. What is the computer performance slow?

Method 1

It is always recommended to use antivirus software only on the computer that multiple s of software antivirus installed on the computer would force this conflict and also affects the performance of the system.

I would say that virus scan run on the computer to remove malware or virus infections.

http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

You can also use Microsoft Security databases to scan your computer

http://www.Microsoft.com/security/PC-security/MSE.aspx

Method 2

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the slow issue of the computer.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

(b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

(c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

(d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

I need to completely reinstall Windows XP Home Edition due to a virus, but the virus prevents me from doing this.  Should I start in SafeMode (F8) to reinstall it?

    Hi André,.

Best way to clean install OS is to boot from the windows xp CD. You will need to configure your CMOS to set the boot order to CD/DVD drive as the first drive. While the XP CD in the drive start your pc, press a key when you are prompted "Press any key to boot from the CD-ROM..." Select clean install (you need to press ESC to repair the windows installation ". You will get an option to format the partition, format and install the operating system.

Clean install will ask you to:

    -> Reactivate windows.

-> Install all of the software required.

-> Backup / restore your important data.

    -> All drivers.

BTW, what is the virus, that you are not able to clean... Try to download available from www.download.com free antivrus, update and scan.

You can also run malware-removal tools software (click on start-> Run Type & -> mrt.exe-> ok).

Try to download www.safer-networking.org/ for spyware spybot.

    I hope this helps.

You type a letter in a word processing program (Microsoft Word, Corel
WordPerfect, OpenOffice, etc.). Do you have a word processing program
    installed?

If you have not installed Word processing program, you can use
WordPad, which ships with Windows. But note that WordPad is a very
primitive processing program (really more a glorified text)
Editor in Chief) and gives you much less control over the formatting to a real
    processing.

  • Satellite C660-108 - Windows XP Home Edition does not install

I try to install Windows XP Home Edition on a Toshiba Satellite C660-108, without success.

I changed the BIOS disk in "Compatibility" mode (what is the same thing as "Legacy IDE"?) by following the instructions on a Yahoo Answers question on the same issue.

What has improved the situation, in what I now get an error message a few minutes after installing XP said "Starting Windows" instead of immediately after. The error message is the same that I have already received and is as follows:

"A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer...". "Technical information: * STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D663C, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000).

Thanks in advance for any help,

PS - I'm a mac user and do not have much experience in the use of Windows laptops, so I need instructions spelled out clearly enough if possible.

The error could be related to drive HARD and the setting in the BIOS of the controller...
Probably, you need to install Win XP using SATA AHCI mode and to add the driver SATA as described here:

  • File not found: Windows XP Home Edition - 000002.vmdk

When I restarted my iMac today, and attempted to restart my VM Fusionware, I got this message: file not found: Windows XP Home Edition - 000002.vmdk.  He offered to let me search for it and I can't find it anywhere.  So, I inserted my VM fusion drive and reinstalled and updated to the current version - and it still says it can't find the file it needs to run.  What should I do?  I lost all my information, like all my files from MS Money?  I had planned to migrate to Quick Books for MAC this summer when I had fun.  I didn't do it all from scratch.  What should I do now?  I delete all files dealing with the merger of VM and do a clean reinstall?  Is anyway to get my MS Money information and the email client I use PocoMail or is all lost?

    Hello

As noted in the Continuum, you need not to 'access' merger to do what was asked. We work only on the iMac here. Do a search/search for files ending in hard.

What commands you issued before trying to start using the virtual machine.

  • Equium L30 - no sound in Windows XP Home edition

I have read all the messages for the sound with Realtek HD audio problem but still no sound on my laptop. I tried to install software patches from Microsoft, I tried to install the vista drivers but nothing works. The sound is properly installed but when I go into Winamp or any other media device I can't hear anything. No sound windows, nothing, but the device is not functioning properly.

All these problems are Windows XP Home edition. In Windows Vista, I have no problem at all. I have an Equium L30. Help, please! Excuse for my English.

You already mentioned that you have already installed Windows (patch) patches.
Well, the problem is that you must reinstall these patches at first and then you could install driver sound. These fixes are needed; Fixes KB888111 and KB835221.

The audio driver (Realtek HD Audio) can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page!

    Good luck and greetings ;)

  • Drivers Toshiba for Windows XP Home edition and VISTA fpr a Satellite Pro P100 - PSPAH

    Hello.

I need help. I bought a Satellite pro P100 - PSPAH with Vista Premium Home edition version of recovery. Now, I want to install a second operating system such as Windows XP Home edition on this laptop. The problem is that Windows XP Home edition did not find 3 drivers. For sound, LAN and another device. For this reason I update my notebook with the latest chipset drivers, but the problem is still there. Vista now has problems with the drivers, too. I can't find the special driver on toshiba home page.

    Jens MFG

    Hello

I understand your problem at the moment that I also prefer XP instead of Vista operating system.
Vista needs simply too many resources for laptop and all applications and 3rd devices are not 100% supported by Vista.

But what say man seems to find compatible drivers on chip manufacturing sites.
Download and install a tool called Everest or other similar hardware diagnostic tool and try to find out what LAN and sound chips are used in your laptop!
Then, you can search drivers Intel, Realtek, etc... pages

You know the website driver Toshiba Canada?

  • Portege M700 - need drivers for Windows XP Home edition x 64

    Hello

    I recently bought a Portege M700
It comes preinstalled with Vista on the disc.

Now, I got an original Win XP x 64 and all my programs are not really compatible with Vista. If I want to install Win XP x 64.
I have install Windows XP Home edition x 64, but there are no drivers for it, only for drivers vista and Windows XP tablet pc edition.

Is it possible to find the drivers for Windows XP Home edition x 64?

Someone at - it already had a problem like this one?

in any case thank you already for the answer.

    Hello

I doubt that you can get 64-bit drivers for Windows XP for this laptop from the Toshiba driver page.
I didn t find drivers for Windows XP 64 bits for Toshiba laptops.
Why? I think the Win XP 64 bit was not so popular like Win XP 32 bit and most of the applications have been designed for XP 32 bit OS.

If install you XP 64-bit on this computer, you will have to look in the various 3rd party Web sites for the compatible drivers

    Good luck

  • Impossible to install the new Windows XP Home edition from scratch on Tecra S3

With F6 in WXP install driver Toshiba raid (from USB floppy drive) properly installed first, partionating disc ok, continue to install Windows XP Home edition.
WXP wants then again Toshiba raid drivers, installing WXP because he's not reading USB floppy (undirected). Do I need the recovery CD that I don't have.

    Hi guys

I had a similar problem installing RAID on my old Qosmio.
I didn't use the restore CD but the simple Microsoft Windows Boot CD.
The problem was my incorrect installation procedure.

After the installation of the driver the USB FDD drive RAID, the configuration of the installation works fine until I formatted the HARD drive or partition.
This has been bad! Don't format or delete the partition after installing the RAID driver!

In addition, make sure you use the right set of RAID! These settings can be checked in the BIOS! My Qosmio user manual provides lots of information about RAID. Did you check your user manual which settings are required to install the OS of Win CD?

    Do and good luck!
