A Persario SR1200NX will support a SATA drive. BIOS doesn't have this option

I am trying to recover data to a SATA drive for a friend, my card mother Persario SR1200NR has connections for the SATA drive but the bios doesn't have the option for SATA drives. I downloaded the latest BIOS upgrade but still no SATA option appers.

According to two different documents from HP, your PC has only SATA II ports.  However, a SATA III hard drive will still work.  In addition, the chipset Intel H61 in your PC doesn't support SATA II.

I recently ordered this ssd sata m2 of amazon, but I'm not sure its compatible with my system - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TGIW1XG?psc=1 & redirect = true & ref_ = oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00.

Its a Samsung 850 500 GB M.2 3.5 inch SSD Form Factor 80nm.  Can I use in a configuration to double for my laptop with the current 5400 RPM 1 TB HARD drive already in the system?  Or do I have to use one or the other?  Or can I select a smaller SSD storage for a double configuration?  I have to talk to a technician and he said my system does not support a 128 GB ssd and it did not indicate if it is a double or a single disk configuration.  In my view, it is difficult to imaging a new desire to 2015 with an i7 Quad Core skylake 6700HQ processor supports only a meagre 128 GB SSD.  Any ideas on what my system can support?

I can verify that it works very well. I had HP technology insist that I could use only one hard disk and a maximum capacity of 128 GB. The technicians don't know squat. I use now a configuration double with the operating system and my programs on my 850 m2 sata evo III 500 GB SSD and my data (videos, music and photos) files on the preinstalled 5400 RPM 1 TB HARD drive.

  • When AFD 12.1 will support 4 K drives?

Recently, I've migrated my storage to virtual disks Mapper afd. Other that when system is restarted all afd records come depending on whether it is disabled, everything seems to work wait I use a fairly new and sliced drive it upward into 4 partitions afd_labeled, and when I try to create a new group of disks using "AFD:DAT4_0001", he throws...

    ORA-15196: invalid block ASM header [kfc.c:29297] [endian_kfbh] [2147483648]

and the score is so don't know why I get error 2 TB, especially when all the compatibilities are 12.1 < 1 TB.

Found a site online that says who is new bug 19297177 since last summer, around the question '... . caused by the AFD properly check the size of physical block of the storage unit (4 k) instead of the logical block size (which was 512 bytes)". I would have thought that this question had been set in a PSU but until this no.

So it seems that the only solution would be to create a new volume group on the new drive and setup of new virtual disks that I could change disk group is added the existing dg.

    Thanks in advance,

    Terry

I remember reading somewhere that ASM only supports the sectors 4K for SSD drives.

Most hardrives after that 2001 use 4K sectors/blocks already, but providing 512 bytes (LBA) for reasons of compatibliy. RAID for example working generally with 512 bytes per sector. ASM is not a RAID, but apparently is based on LBA regular features. You are using Oracle ASMLIB. If so, then perhaps you could try to phsycial, which is default ASMLIB, to the logical block size.

    # oracleasm configure b (switches to the LBA logical block size)

    # oracleasm confgiure Pei (switches to the physical block size)

  • This laptop will support an ocz vertex 3 series VTX3-25SAT3 - 240 G 240 GB SSD, SATA III 6 GB/s?

    HP Pavilion DV7-4080US, Windows 7, 64-bit

I want to replace the existing 500 GB "d" (5400 RPM) drive with an OCZ 240 GB drive SSD SATA III and must make sure that this laptop will support a SATA III SSD drive?

I am not concerned about the start time that you want to use the SSD for video editing, so I don't anticipate using the SSD instead of the c"" drive.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

Well, this will speed up the startup time of your machine a lot but for editing video may not help much. In any case the SATA III (or 3) is backward compatible with SATA II (or 2) and SATA I (or 1). You're probably on the price/cost. A little program called PC Wizard will tell you the speed of the disk on your computer controller:

You can download it from the following link:

  • XP only sees 1 SATA drive

I recently installed an SSD in my Pavilion a1130n. I plan to use the old HD for storage of pictures by plugging it into a different port. The BIOS recognizes the two discs, but XP does not work. After much trial and error, it seems that any player is plugged into SATA port 1 is the only recognized player. Windows Explorer and disk management see nothing except what is in the SATA 1 port. The BIOS doesn't have many choices SATA except 'enable' or 'disable '. SSD SATA3 and my old motherboard Pavilion is SATA1. Who is the problem, and if so, can I get around it by installing a SATA controller in PCI Express available on the motherboard?

    Thank you!

    My computer specs are:

    HP Pavilion a1130n
    Product #: PX769AA
    Serial No.: [redacted]
    Windows XP SP3
    120g Kingston SSD
    Seagate Barracuda 250g HD
    4 GB RAM

I solved the problem by buying a SATA controller I installed in the PCI Express slot. It took less than 15 minutes to install and costs $20. The SSD is in support of the card mother SATA 1. The HD is the newly installed controller. Both drives are accessible and everything works. I'm a happy camper!

For the HP ENVY 17 - k000 Notebook PC model, there is No second Bay of disc - hard

Your model is customized model ("17 t-k000 CTO") this series of basic model, it will not be a secondary HARD drive Bay.

To confirm, you will need to open & see-

To get into the HARD drive, you have to-remove the battery, the optical drive, rear corner covers, hood & USB card.

Contact HP for more details about your specific model.

  • Computer laptop HP 630 will support bi-ecrans?

I m using HP 630 laptop computer. I would like to connext a monitor extended using the VGA port. It will support bi-ecrans?

I m asking this because I connected the monitor to the VGA port and restarted the laptop.

But laptop did not monitor and menu 'Screen Resolution' did not show the multiple display.

I also tried "Detect". It did not help.

If HP630 suuports, can you help me.

    Thanks in advance.

Need a video to the system driver since the video is listed as 'Standard VGA'. Did you try the fn + fx combination I suggested of keys or the key Windows + p solution?

However, the first thing we need to do is to get your system with the correct drivers installed.

Here is a link to the page of driver for Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. It would be different if you have 32-bit.

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=5086783&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=5086782&swLang=13&TaskID=135&swEnvOID=4061

Really you need the driver and chipset driver and the driver of the quick launch area. How Windows 7 did settle on the system? This is an original image or it installed afterwards?

  • G71-340US notebook - a disc will modernize a SATA 3 GB/s 7200 RPM drive work?

The 320 GB drive that came with my laptop G71-340US is short of space, and I want to spend at least a 500 GB drive.  An upgrade to a SATA 3 GB/s 7200 RPM drive work? My thoughts are that if I upgrade the disk I might as well get a faster at this point drive if the G71-340US laptop will support it.

    Thanks much for any help!

    Hello

On some models, there are problems with 500 GB HARD drive. It is safer to stay with 320 GB drive HARD and just get the external HARD drive. If you have a chance, so it is interesting to test this great HARD drive. You can only check it is detected by the Bios or not.

If you are in the United States, then from there what I remember that Newegg offer return policy for what does not work for you.

You have 30 days for this step. Please check this information on your own because I'm not sure of him.

7200 RPM HARD drive runs faster and you will feel this change for you.

If you want to change the HARD drive for the biggest or fastest then you should use clonning like EASEUS Todo - Backupsoftware.

It will copy everything from old HDD again and allow you to use your system without having to reinstall.

See this tutorial. You will find information how to use this software.

You will need 2.5 "SATA external enclosure. Get in this new HARD drive and connect it to your laptop via USB.
