  • Test the connection to My Oracle Support fails

    I am fairly new to cloud OEM control but can't seem to find the journal to solve this.  It seems that CC cannot talk about MOS of my server, even if I can wget and curl it directly from the server very well.  I am Setup-> Proxy Settings-> My Oracle Support.  I do not have a proxy between this server and the web, so I choose "Not of Proxy" and then click on the Test button.  It fails with:

    Unable to connect to My Oracle Support, using the URL "https://support.oracle.com". Check the proxy settings. Try using your web browser and has the same proxy settings, to test the URL "https://support.oracle.com". "" If you are still unable to connect, check the logs of WHO for more details about the failure.


    Can someone explain why this is happening, or give me a clue where the log would be?  I can't find all the newspapers recently under my location of $OMS_HOME.

    In addition, anyone know how CC manages the agents on different subnets?  In other words, my server will be connected to a network VLAN for Tomcat monitoring mechanism and also multihomed on a DB VLAN to monitor Oracle database instances.  If the server can communicate on these subnets OK, is there something I need to do in CC so that it recognizes these networks?

    If you want to extend the pages of EBS, you need to use the OA framework for 12.2 version.  There is no native support for the extension of EBS by using ADF pages.

    If you want to build the ADF custom applications that integrate with EBS you can watch using the SDK of the EBS (see My Oracle Support) that offers a number of design patterns to allow you to do.

    With respect to the version of Fusion Middleware based on EBS 12.2, take a look at the notes 1911660.1.  11.1.1.6 is currently the base version supplied with 12.2.4 with the 11.1.1.7 version is the highest version supported.

    The weirdest thing that happens to me, new installation of 12 c, with the correctly filled out proxy settings, with proxy test works successfully, with the CCR download at MOS, I am not able to connect to console 'EM MOS, reception:

    Seems half of 'EM is aware of proxy setting and the other half is not.
    I open SR but the named person will be able to help me because apparently, he doesn't understand a thing I want to talk. I hope that I will find someone who is willing to help out here.

    Can you use the same domain in proxy page you found in the trace: "Infrastructure to browse" & give it a try.

    Most things are possible, especially for the Viewer as Viewer using UIX files to control the interface. I don't know exactly the one controlling passwords, but it probably wouldn't be hard to find.

    Word of warning however: Oracle is not customers of support or sanction change UIX files so all what is done must be saved first in case you have problems.

    Take a look * $ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\OC4J_BI_Forms\applications\discoverer\discoverer * where $ORACLE_HOME is the place on your application of discoverer server where discoverer more and observer to have their home.

    There are a number of files in there related to passwords, namely: CECEnterPassword.uix, CECPasswordChangeWillExpire.uix, CECPasswordExpired.uix, CECPasswordWillExpire.uix, ChangePassword.uix, EnterPassword.uix, Password.uix, PasswordChangeWillExpire.uix and PasswordWillExpire.uix. The word password also exists in struts - config.xml in * $ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\OC4J_BI_Forms\applications\discoverer\discoverer\WEB-INF *.

    There are a few notes on the Oracle Support on changing some settings in the uix files and these are assumptions they are published by Oracle, but one should always be careful.

    Although there are a lot of messages on how to configure multiple servers of presentation there is still a question that I would like to have answered: < em > < strong > Support of Oracle makes answering calls on the sites where more than one presentation server are installed on the same MS Windows machine?

    This arises because the manuals tell me (please, correct me if I'm wrong) that such a situation is not recommended and the installation program does not allow such a situation should be created. He really needs manual intervention to implement. Then, there's several servers of presentation on a single machine supported by Oracle or not? And if this is taken in charge who designate a full support or who are only in charge of technical issues (not beeing performance issues)?



    These are very important questions for me and I would appreciate it if someone who has knowledge to this subject (or experience with Oracle Support in such a situation) share this knowledge.

    No, Oracle does not support, and no, they do not support if they find that you run multiple servers PS on the same server. See Re: Urgent - 2 BIEE presentation Services and BI server in Linux. I do not recommend you do this, the suggested approach is to VM Ware or virtualize your physical server into several logical servers. We were told that this feature is coming in the next major release (11g).

    I heard that if you pay maintenance to Oracle support permanently, you are free to upgrade to the latest version.

    For example if you have purchased the license for 9i, you are free to use 10g, 11g, 12 c, 13d, etc, etc.
