A person from INDIA called me telling me that they represent Microsoft & have checked to see if I had a deadly virus windows, legitimate or not?
The person who called me was very difficult to understand. He asked me how old I was? I always want to talk to an American, but I saw no reason for such a confused call! Surely Microsoft doesnot employ these people. Or do you have?

Scam phone calls re malware indicating that they are "Microsoft."
Hello I get a series of scam phone calls indicating that they are of "microsoft" and say that I have a problem with my computer. The numbers on the caller ID of the phone are: 002133333206, 003105999211, 002532362020, 002063971113, 003606339006, 0013212000143 and 001753615204. They also asked me similar question such as if my computer is turned on and that it /she (because sometimes it's a woman's voice and, sometimes, a man's voice) can fix it. I always tell them that I'm not interested in such a way they cling fast to the phone. Can you please review?

Original title: my computer is corrupt and needs fixing!
I received calls from a person in India who said that they are Windows services centre telling me that they have received the error message saying that my computer is damaged, and they want to help me. But I have not received any error message on my screen. When I asked them how they got my number they said it's from the database of Windows. The number they gave me is 02921252715 and when I called the number of the person on the other end told me that they are a company called Windows e-solution, independent company and is not attached to Microsoft Windows. What should I do? Are these authentic calls and approved by Microsoft Windows?

I currently have Firefox 9.0. Why the start page for firefox keep telling me that I don't have the latest version?
You may need the old start page. Go to Firefox > Options and in the pane general, under Startup, click on restore by default. The page you have probably (http://google.com/firefox) only served to 3.6 (and tells you you are outdated), but some users seem to have gotten stuck on it after updating to Firefox 4 or upper version.

I received a call from the
saying that they would help my dose of my windows problems. Is it a scam? Hello
They are cold, you try to pick up the 'business' calling
It's a scam.
Either these so-called "Microsoft" Tech companies want to sell you a worthless software, or remote access to your computer to try to steal your credit card and bank information and also achieve an identity theft on you.
You are the only person who knows if you gave them remote access.
If you gave them remote access and you do Internet banking, contact your bank, to explain, and change passwords.
If you use your online credit card, cancel and get a new one issued to you.
And the only way that willl you know that you are free to them is to backup your data and do a clean install of your operating system.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
And Microsoft does not contact you unless YOU have made prior arrangements with them to do.

I had problems with the Internet. After many trials and tribulations, I was able to come back.
I received three calls from someone who told me that microsoft has noticed activity too in my computer about this issue.it asked this company to fix the problem. They tell me that it's a company that has been commissioned by Microsoft to do the job.
They called me three times. The first time, they tell me that they are based in California. The second time the same person recalls. Today, some calls from New York. WHST is happening?
Phishng scam!
Never let anything called 'Microsoft Tech' to connect to your computer.
Microsoft does NOT make that.FYI...
Currently, Microsoft only provides a support Forum to help customers.
There is no 'live', e-mail, 'phone' remote, or paid a pension available.
The only support is here on this Forum, nobody can help.*

Your Windows Xp disk is missing from the sata/raid drivers to detect the hard drive. This problem can be solved in two ways that I know.
First of all, you can slipstream the drivers in the creation of a new disk of Windows Xp disc. Second, you can enter your bios and disable the ahci.

Phone call telling me that they come from Windows and it is on my computer - make these calls?
I see others have similar appeals - so, what is the answer to these other positions?
Hello - what someone has an answer yet?
First of all, note that when you ask "do * you * make these calls?" you apparently think you are addressing here Microsoft.
You are not. It is a forum for peer support. We just are all users of this version of Windows here, help each other if and when we can. We are not Microsoft employees (not even those of us with 'Microsoft MVP"behind our names; it is an honorary title for having provided useful advice) with the exception of an occasional Microsoft contractor or an employee.
Second, the call was
a scam and with all the names and phone numbers, one that has become very common these days. See http://www.troyhunt.com/2012/08/virus-scams-social-engineering-victims.htmland http://www.howtogeek.com/176605/tell-your-relatives-no-microsoft-wont-call-you-about-your-computer/and http://www.howtogeek.com/180514/the-%e2%80%9ctech-support%e2%80%9d-scammers-called-htg-so-we-had-fun-with-them/
In addition to their money get on your part for the inaction of any value, if you let them into your computer, who knows what they were doing here or what confidential information, they stole. So if you have done so, I highly recommend that you do both of the following immediately:
1 do a clean reinstall of Windows.
2. * after * reinstallation of Windows, change all your passwords, especially all of banks or other financial sites.Since they * could * have installed a recorder of strikes, simply changing your passwords without first reinstalling Windows may not be good enough. -
