She asked me to connect to the Internet, which I refused. This cold call and a scary message about the potential danger for my PC which struck me as the behavior of a crook. So I hung up.

  The telephone number of this person was 009999100290. By checking this number with www.whocallsme.com, I have discovered at least two other people who had been hit hard from that number of 'Maria' and 'Catherine', respectively. They believed also that was a scam and hung up.

  We were wrong, please?

  I would be very grateful for your comments

  (I have Norton Internet Security installed on my PC. A comprehensive analysis by that revealed nothing suspicious.)

  It's a SCAM! Microsoft does not make that neither have they partners that do and don't they hire contractors or individuals or even to find volunteers to do. There are probably thousands of these companies out there do every day - we get two or three posts like this (or more) each day ask about it. You are lucky who have recognized the scam enough not to be sucked in and eventually identify theft, infections, hacking your computer, convince you to buy software or services you either did not need or that do not really exist at all and all sorts of nefarious stuff. You'd be surprised how much contact us AFTER THAT that they realized they had been duped asking what to do. Don't waste time talking to these people, not give them any personal information it is, don't be fooled by what they can get allows you to see on the computer - in fact, not do anything they suggest on your computer or even to visit Web sites they recommend and for the love of God don't give them access to your computer.

  Microsoft knows this is happening, but with these companies popping up like dandelions, or closing and changing names when discovered and operating mainly from abroad, it would take an army of lawyers to sue each other. They do the best they can, but they are just too many and more added every day. People need to pay attention to these things. They occur not only by telephone, but also by e-mail, instant messaging, mail and all the ways imaginable. Forget not that Microsoft doesn't this and hang up or remove the emails or messages or mail from someone claiming that they do because they know the information on your computer or that you want to get information from you to confirm your account so that it will not be closed and asking you your name of user and password and all sorts of other personal information. Microsoft DO NOT!

• Calls from 661-748-0240 saying they are Microsoft?

  On 29 October 2013 approximately 11:00, I got a call from this number: 661-748-0240.

  The person at the other end are identified as a Microsoft employee, they also gave me his name (which I don't remember).

  They said that Microsoft has gotten more than 500 messages from my computer in the last 5 days saying there was an error on my computer if it has not been corrected within 15 days, they would have to force a restart / reinstall on my PC remotely to get rid of the errors / hack / virus. They said that they would not have to do this because I would lose all data on my PC if it happened. He reminded me that they did this about 18 months ago.

  I told them I had partitions and had that concern, he insisted that I would lose all data? He said it would have cost me about $2000.00 for data recovery, and that is why they would not have to force a reinstall on my PC remotely. He said something to be official Microsoft employees again and how he knows it if it wasn't.

  Despite the indicators are going in my head I always I was tied it and went to this page to download an e-mail program:

  He had me to enter the security code: 485801 (this code no longer works).

  They used this messenger programme connect and access my PC remotely:

  With the e-mail program a John M? resumed and they asked for Remoting and I gave it to him by ignorance. He sought my logs of errors and could not have access. The error logs were not on.

  I fell that there is 18 months (as mentioned above) and paid the money on my credit card, I don't know how. They used an aggressive remote registry tool that destroyed my PC and I've sat and watched as they did. I had to do a total reinstall (I didn't lose access to my other partitions with total reinstallation, I also two other OS on my PC for all these questions).

  This time they were saying the same thing and access remotely. I almost fell for it again. I give them access remote questioning why they needed to do. But once they asked for money again, I thought that it is a scam.

  They gave me two options one a time event for $99.00 or a term of two years for $199.00.

  I told them that I don't have any money right now, what is true, and I would call them back. They stopped the remote access and gave me this number to remember: 1-855-306-9026 this number is a "United Tech Support', supposed to be used by many institutions, including Microsoft to manage the various issues.

  A search on this number gives sites where people mention that there are a lot of people different scams have received this number and it is used by cyber criminals.

  I want Microsoft to comment on calls from this number, they had to take care of this issue before.

  Please let us know if it is a scam (which I can hardly imagine what isn't) or not. And what I should have let them through ignorance have remote access to my PC.

  If you receive a call as let them NEVER can visit his profile and NEVER give them any information or money.

  Just to be safe, at least, if they have access to your computer, it should update your anti-virus package and running a scan completes, then download, install, update and run a scan complete with free Malwarebytes. Change the passwords you use esp and e-mail online banking accounts, etc.

  I have a new installation of a MX800 recorded at TPaaS in the cloud, and the unit constantly receives calls from 100 @ and its IP address. This started over the weekend and takes place every 30 seconds like clockwork. Is there some way in the MX800 I can put in the filter restrictions to block calls from probes starting at 100 @ or is it a TPaaS?

  Looks like a someone on the internet is the SIP devices using automated analytical tools known scanning and looking system PBX calls the inside to reduce fresh international of appeal or trying to hack and break the PBX devices. These calls are sent directly to your address IP MX800.

  Your MX800 behind the firewall or directly connected to the Public and exposed to the internet?

  Try turning off the port of SIP listening for inbound connections on ports TCP/UDP of SIP on your MX800 under System Configuration > SIP settings. If disabled, endpoint won't be available through the Registrar SIP CUCM or VCS via TPaas in the cloud.

They also asked me similar question such as if my computer is turned on and that it /she (because sometimes it's a woman's voice and, sometimes, a man's voice) can fix it. I always tell them that I'm not interested in such a way they cling fast to the phone. Can you please review?

  • What version of Windows (XP Home, XP Pro, Vista, etc) and Service Pack (none, 1, 2, 3) is installed? If you are unsure, do a click right my computer and select properties for information.
  • What is the name and version of your anti-virus program?  Is his current subscription and has it always been updated?
  • What other security software is installed (names and versions)?

  I'm having a problem on my passport with the phone. When I get a call from a number that is not stored in my contacts list, the call goes straight to voicemail.  If the caller leaves a message, I get the call indicator missed with the new VoiceMail indicator. However, the phone doesn't ring or vibrate, and the screen does not light to show that someone calls.  I missed a number of calls because of it.

  Calls from numbers in my contacts list work fine.  It's only calls from numbers not in my contacts.

• Saved as files. PSD now that they are "The Windows Shell common Dll" and does not open?

  I'm having a problem with some files open in Photoshop. I use Photoshop CS5.1 Extended (Version 12.1) and you have Windows 7 64 bit SP1 OS.

  I'm opening a few models that I made in PhotoShop for a client and it worked fine when I used them 3 weeks ago. All were saved as .psd documents. Now when I go to open them they do have the PS icon (to show that they would be open by PhotoShop). When I try to open them I get "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." I had this problem once before, but it's confusing to me 2 other .psd similar files that I recorded in the same period (separate for the temlate elements) are perfectly fine, those I need won't open.

  I checked the properties of the file, and he claims that these files are now the Windows Shell common Dll files. Any ideas?

  Among the file names, it looks like windows is confused about the type of file due to the periods in file names.
