  DVD drive has disappeared, but I see still physically!

  The machine is an Acer laptop with a single disc DVD - RW Win Vista Home Premium 32 running with all the latest updates installed.

• Limit IOPS / s on a single disc using SIOC

  I'm looking to limit the IOPS / s on a computer virtual using SIOC. However, I want to just limit the OPS are / s on a single disc not all disks on the virtual computer. Is this possible? Thank you for your help in advance.

  The link / news references is just standard VM limitations, not of IGCS.

  You can place the vDisk where you want, the limit won't be on this vDisk on this VM. You can also share the LUN to other virtual machines, and they will not have this limit imposed on them.

  I understand that the main advantage of using ASM automatic multi disk storage.

  ASM is designed for the multi-disc for RAC storages to virtualize storage.
  Functions such as mirroring or striping will not be used. So why use it?
  Disk access may be slower or faster depends on what to compare.

  @tizzy, welcome to the forum.

  Disc 1 is a lable that tells you what what is supposed to do, for example, the HP TOOLS?  If no, and you are sure there is nothing on what you need, the space will become all just a portion of the free space.

  You can go in for this PC file Explorer / right click on the partition and select Properties.  This will tell you what is on it.

  Problem solved! You insert a blank disc first so that Windows Media Player knows how much space drive. Otherwise it is an assumption, I think.

  In a normal redundancy disk group, to increase performance and reliability, Oracle ASM by default uses two-way mirroring. A normal redundancy disk group requires a minimum of two disk devices (or two failure groups). The effective disk space in a normal redundancy disk group is half the sum of the disk space in all of its devices.
  
  For Oracle Clusterware files, Normal redundancy disk groups provide 3 voting disk files, 1 OCR and 2 copies (one primary and one secondary mirror). With normal redundancy, the cluster can survive the loss of one failure group.

  I have a ReadyNAS NV + and failed drive and have to by a new one.
  Is it possible to increase the size on a single disc.
  Today, its 4 * 1 TB disks and I want to change a 2 TB drive (for the future to replace the other 3 for the greater)
  The RAID will accept the largest disk and rebuild still or is it going to fail because I need same size on all drives?

  Over 3 years, Vista SP2 PC most CD is not recognized.  The drive is: eject the tray opens.  Only a single disc (audio) is recognized.  Have swapped the PATA ribbon cable and swapped the drive itself.  CHKDSK and SFC show no problem.  I deleted the UpperFilters.  All to nothing does not.  I have not started on a live CD again.  There that something remains to be done before an inplace install Vista?

  I have a set of two discs.  Disc one ripped fine.  But when I put in disc 2, it rejects, thinking it is disk 1.

  Well, I think I found a solution.

  I deleted the first disc of my library and my computer, so that no debris from the album remained.
  I inserted and ripped out the second disc.  I went to the library view, you click on 'Album' in the left pane and scroll to the album just torn.  I clicked on it and selected "Find Album Info".  When he doesn't get the info, ask if it is correct.  Rather than make a new search, as it says, click blue "Edit" next to album art.  You will then be able to modify information, rename and renumber the pieces and make a set of disks instead of a single disc.
  I clicked done, then finished, and it is updated correctly in my library.  I tore the first disc, went through the same procedure to make a disc placed instead of one disc and ensured that he he showed as a disc 1.
  Everything seems to be updated correctly now.
