  The link / news references is just standard VM limitations, not of IGCS.

  You can place the vDisk where you want, the limit won't be on this vDisk on this VM. You can also share the LUN to other virtual machines, and they will not have this limit imposed on them.

  The dabatase files are small in size: 52 GB and it would fit on a single disc.
  I understand that the main advantage of using ASM automatic multi disk storage.

  ASM is designed for the multi-disc for RAC storages to virtualize storage.
  Functions such as mirroring or striping will not be used. So why use it?
  Disk access may be slower or faster depends on what to compare.

  I also found an info that the BD - RE DL (write speed 2 x max) drives are compatible.
  But I think you may have problems using the disk from different manufacturers.

  I've got ThinkPad T520 and I really like it, but there is no question that makes me worried about the security of the data. There is a moment when the hard drive becomes hang for about a minute. This is the rate, usually happens when you try to connect to Windows 7... interface is still active, but hand disk is hang (green led is always on), it seems that everything is blocked because of the disc, but looks like it's doing nothing during that time. There are also some rare cases, when happens when I do work on it.

  I don't know what the reason for this problem. I guess it could be either:

  (a) internal (maybe physical) defects in HDD OR

  (b) there are some services in Windows 7 that allows to hang so long (my Windows directory is about 17 GB! He was already fat after the installation, I'm the second user of this computer, I bought it a month ago, still 2 years of guarantee).

  The hard drive is C300-MTFDBAK128MAG (SSD). You have a similar experience with this computer / hard disk?

  I called support in Poland call center today and they suggested to:

  (1) execute and test Windows 7 mode 'diagnostic' (msconfig) OR

  (2) the hard drive firmware update OR

  (3) send the computer to service center

  Obviously I don't want to waste time, because I use this computer for work. Do you know what could be the problem and what to do better to fix?

  I have a laptop running windows vista Home premium. the problem is when I insert a blank disc dvd - r, there will be a pop-up window indicating that I need to insert a disc. I tried dvd + r, cd etc and everything works except for the dvd - r blank. I tried all solutions here for resettlement to restart. I use dvd - r hp (one with lightscribe) hope someone could help me!

  I recently bought the Daft Punk album Random Access memories-memories from the play of Google store. I downloaded the album on my PC and I want to burn a copy of it for a trip on the road ahead.   Problem solved! You insert a blank disc first so that Windows Media Player knows how much space drive. Otherwise it is an assumption, I think.

My question is, is it possible and are there measures to have the data store across the NAS drive and the new drive on the physical server. Please go gentle for me even if I had some exposure on ESXi and vSphere, that I did not need to go into this deep and now feeling a bit bad that I need to somehow extend an exchange server (which doesn't have a single backup since last year, until I started here!) without breaking!   I'm sure you know already... but really, really need to back up the Exchange database.  Now.

  You will not be able to expand on a store of data between a NAS and a local physical drive.

  If the local drive is big enough (larger than the existing Exchange vmdk), you can create a new messaging database and migrate the mailboxes, which will serve the double purpose of it down the old drive and giving you a new compacted database.

  Are these you bought audio CD or CD - R burn you on another computer?

  A lot of different formats for CD - R. Not all readers used to support all formats, although the newer readers usually do.

  @tizzy, welcome to the forum.

  Disc 1 is a lable that tells you what what is supposed to do, for example, the HP TOOLS?  If no, and you are sure there is nothing on what you need, the space will become all just a portion of the free space.

  You can go in for this PC file Explorer / right click on the partition and select Properties.  This will tell you what is on it.
