A slimline PSU upgrade

I have a HP Pavilion Slimline (information below), I want to spend the current unit of 90W power supply 350W or 400W one.  Is this possible?  I read the topic stickied at the top of this forum that seems the only address non-slimlines.

Thank you.

Egadd,

You may be able to find a 270-Watt power supply.  Get the part number off the power supply inside the label and try the link below.

HP Slimline power of Athena. A converter mini-ATX cable may also be required.

Look here in HP Partsurfer for video cards that are used in the new Slimline models with a 220 Watt power supply.  These cards have been made specifically for the HP Slimline PC with a 220 watt power supply.

Can I add a graphics card? If Yes, which?

    @DavidMW You are welcome.

Please do not hessitate to ask questions.  This is the reason why I'm here.

Most of the games are today video very intensive.  This is why your computer begins to lag when the game gets busy.  A video card would be a good thing, but will be much easier to install more memory.  This is the memory that is recommended by Crucial memory.  The max memory is 4 GB, however.  You would be better served if you decide to upgrade the memory to buy 2 x 2 GB memory new and remove the old.  Another way to increase performance of the system is to add an SSD.  Take a look at the recommended by Crucial SSD.  They make great products for OEM computers.  My HP laptop game boots Omen is less than 7 seconds and increases the speed of loading games with the 256 GB SSD.

I have to be honest with you.  The Slimline models simply are not meant for the game; even

Hello. Im sure most of the people are getting bored with my frequent messages but I was wondering what I need to know to upgrade my diet or if someone can link me to a decent PSU.

Im trying to run a graphics at least 512 MB of memory and all the maps I looked at meets the needs of better food than my current 240w one. If anyone can recommend a graphics (512 MB and 128-bit bus) or a power supply then I would be grateful.

    Hello:

The AMD Radeon HD6450 or Nvidia 610 GT should work just fine.

The two have a circulation of less than 30 watts maximum power supply.

Dozens of members of the forum have installed the 6450 in their dc7800 SFF which have the same 240 W P/S as yours.

This is such a thread with a lot of info.

The Corsair PSU should adapt and work without problem. The 3.0 PCIe x 16 video should also work, but because x 16 card mother slot is a v2.0 there is potential for issues to arise. Please read the guide to selection of video cards Big_Dave for more information.

  • Dell XPS 8500 PSU upgrade needed?

    Hello

I would like to know if its possible to use this card graph (Asus Nvidia GTX 660 TI)

with 8500 XPS system that got a POWER 450 W PSU.

The manufacturer (Asus) advises a block of POWER W 550 while Nvidia defines minimum 450 W PSU.

What do you think? Should I try it with the power supply 450 internal or should I switch to a 600 W or

    POWER SUPPLY 700?

The XPS 8500 has a 460 watt unit.  Others fled with the help of technology of GTX 660 on the power supply. So, I would not bother with any upgrade of the power supply. Note that when these larger maps, you may need more long SATA cables to your optical or HARD drive.    Also, the XPS 8500 is found to have problems with capacity with some brands.  I prefer the brand EVGA, but it is up to you.

  • Pavilion Slimline s3407c upgrade to Windows 7?

I got this computer since 2007 and it works. Periodically, internal processes overwhelm the system and I can't work. I had to do the factory reset twice in seven years and was about to go to #3 this week, when the system itself fixed just with no help from my friends.

-Is a common problem with Vista?

-Would be upgraded to Windows 7 help or I open myself in a world of new problems?

-J' followed support advise to disable "Load Startup items" on the config. Is it a long-term solution or that serve only as a troubleshooting tool?

    Thanks in advance!

Your computer came with Windows Vista 32 - bit, it is actually able to run a 32-bit OS or 64-bit. As your computer comes with 2 GB of RAM, I recommend you stay with a 32-bit operating system. If you need to upgrade to 4 GB of RAM, I suggest using Windows 7 64 bit instead.

  • 3015 pro MT PSU upgrade

    Everything tonight.

I recently bought a 2nd hand unit Pro 3015 MT.

I want to put a gigabyte r7 260 x in it. Card will fit just. But the PSU is a low 300w with no gpu that it feeds. I had a look at the m/b that feed on the PSU and it's not like he has wired the same as most PSU 24pin, it is quite common for HP units that I am told.

Can anyone recommend a 500/600w PSU for this unit?

    Thanks in advance.

Here is a picture of the motherboard:

The power supply ATX 24-pin and ATX_CPU connection 4 pins are absolutely standard in the industry, so you should be able to install any ATX PSU. Here, it's a good thing, but there is much more:

Yes, it seems that everything should play nice. The CX600 Corsair is known to fit the cases most, HP consumer computer office, of which your p6654y and it is strongly recommended. The AMD HDX850WFK42GM is a processor of Deneb TDP of 95 watts, so it should work on your computer. Geforce GTX660, while it is a little big, must match your computer... Make sure you just measure along the slot PCIe graphic for obstructions.

  • XPS 8300 PSU upgrade?

I'll buy a 8300 with the following combination:

Processor Intel core i7-2600 (3.4 GHz, 8 MB of Cache)
    8 GB (4x2Go) DDR3 SDRAM to 1 333 MHz
3 TB (1.5TBx2) SATA RAID 0 (data striping)
    1.25 GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce (r) GTX 560 Ti

I studied the 560 ti, and apparently it needs a higher POWER supply, which I believe is the power supply? I am not very computer in this area - how I discovered that the power supply of the computer above?  On another forum, they informed me that I should get at least 700w for the 560ti. They also said that it would be difficult to find a PSU connector. Basically, I would appreciate help in the choice of a power supply for my dell, based on what other Dell users indicate that they found worked well.

    Thanks, I really appreciate it!

I will repeat what I said.  If an option, such that the specific video card is available for purchase at the command, the system will work with any power supply is installed.   It was noted, on the Section of office equipment, new systems with graphics cards in commercial versions of cards that require a certain power supply power, however the version provided in the new Dell is a model of lower power needs and therefore works with the power supply provided Dell.

It is worth noting that, in most cases, Dell tends to underestimate their power supplies, so a power of 470 watts is more like a 550 watt detail or even more.

I have a Dell Dimension E510 desktop computer.  It has power to 310 watts stock.  I'm walking the CPU maxed out the memory, has added a second optical drive, added a second hard drive and updated the video card to a Galaxy GTS450OC video card and everything works without problem.

  • Pavilion 550-279na: GPU and PSU upgrade for Pavilion 550-279

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion 550-279na. While it fits most of my needs, I enjoy the occasional game and found that the GPU that is it came with, the Radeon R5 330 does not offer enough "oomph".

    http://support.HP.com/GB-en/document/c04949172

I had a quick glance and think that the Nvidia GTX 750ti would probably answer my needs.

Don't you think that this card would fit in my PC?

Also, I guess 180W POWER supply that it came with is not sufficient to run a faster GPU, you have any recommendations on the size or model that would suit the Pavilion.

My apologies if these are very secular issues, my knowledge of material isn't at the height!

    Thanks for any help.

    Charlie

    Greetings,

Your PC has the correct UEFI BIOS.

The GTX 750Ti requires a minimum 300 Watt power supply.

You must measure the space available along the existing graphics card and compare it to the length of the backup. The 750 is 5.7 inches long. The 750 is a dual slot card. Make sure you have room and you can check out a second plate of Panel rear I/O to install the card.

It must fit unless it's really tight in your chassis with the existing card.

Same problem with the power supply. Verify that you can install a power supply 350 Watt or 400 watts.

I prefer modular Corsair or Seasonic power switching.

Make sure that you disable secure boot and enable the legacy boot in the BIOS.

Also to uninstall all of the AMD graphics drivers and software before you install the card GTX 750.

    See you soon!

  • Pavilion A6750F PSU upgrade

    HP Pavilion a6750f

    Windows 7 64 bit

I installed a thought EVGA nvidia gt 240 1 GB DDR3 that power 300w in my a6750f be enough see that requirements for the 1 GB DDR3 calls actually of 350w of power. I would spend my diet and I am looking to the CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 600W ATX12V.  I would like the 600w in case of future updates, I can do.

Does anyone know if this is compatible with my computer or how I can go to find out?

    Otherwise, any other suggestions?

    Hello

It's not like you are even plugged into the card (code = 43 windows has stopped this device).

Try to clear the CMOS memory.

The video card may be DOA.

  • Can I put the Pavilion Slimline 180 Watt power supply to a 300 Watt PSU

    Of course, you can!

Here is an informational videoabout the possibilities of upgrading your slimline WHAT PSU found on YouTube.  A comparison of three power supplies, including the owner HP PSU and a (two video and CPU) stress test and comparison of noise is shown during the video.

Be aware that some, but not all, of the PSU, upgrades require a simple and light your PSU slimline support change. Change depends on the power supply model chosen for the upgrade.

Purchase an adaptor molex as HP UPE is necessary for the Slimlines using a power supply with the format owners microfit ATX 24 pin, as well as the standard for the HTPC power supply ATX 20 pin format.

Upgrade your power supply at a higher power will not damage your motherboard. A power supply will provide only so much power that is required of him by the mother and peripheral card up to the nominal power of the installed PSU.

It is for those who wondered how to work around the limitation of the low power 180 Watt power supply that most Pavilion Slimline PCs come with the Assembly. With a power SUPPLY improved, more memory and a graphics card discrete, including support (it is a requirement) your Slimline can be your gaming PC.

Selecting a graphics card is another topic. Not all graphics cards can hold in the case of a slimline. It takes a low profile video card. They are available for purchase online.

    Kind regards
