A very tempting bug in PL SQL OTN community
Dear Oracle,
Please be advised that we just found a bug while working along a raised discussion, which is quiet tempting (bug).
We scored a solution recommended by the useful OTN members who added 10 points for our profile. We have just then unmarked useful status, which...
on the first hand, did not reduce my points by 10
Second, when I scored useful again once, he has added 10 more points to my profile.
This scenario repeated 4 times, which added 40 extra points to my profile. That was it, the bug did not exist the fifth time.
I just tested the same for queries answered, but there was no bug to them.
This particular issue as long as we tested, exist for discussions without response under PL SQL OTN community.
Please check and solve the issue under all communities of Oracle, as the points granted should be for something that we made and not granted free of charge... for as much as we think.
In contrast, when we mark comments as useful after the discussion was marked responded, none of the points are awarded .
Thank you and best regards,
Séverine Suresh
The admin are already aware of the problem of multiple awards is given to marking/unmarking positions. AFAIK they seek to repair and in the meantime, someone is abusing of this may have points deducted from their profile, or suite/bad abuse could result in termination of their account.

Where can I report a bug in the SQL Developer? It is possible at all?
I use Ubuntu 14.04 (32 or 64 bit) with Oracle VM 1.7.55 and get a SIGSEGV vm.

If you have database support through MyOracleSupport, you can report a bug there.
If this isn't the case, then this is the place, although nothing is guaranteed.

Very strange bug with AIR and native process (Windows 7, EXE)
Hi all!
The situation is:
I did an Application AIR, inside which a native process - running EXE file.
I use Flash CC as IDE and tried to use the compilation as EXE with AIR 2.6 and 3.6 - results are the same.
So I insert inside a control if the nativeprocess is supported or not and the native process is supported all the time.
When I come to install the application and run it - the first attempt is good - everything works as a must: internal EXE is called by my Application with the necessary parameters so long I need.
However if I close the application, then if it run not new - internal EXE is not starting at all, depends on number of attempts to restart the application.
Then only is to uninstall, install back and then you'll be a session more successful EXE-internal requests, until the forthcoming resumption of the application.
That's all.
I tried to "google it" but without success. The bug is probably very rare.
Help me please?
Update: compiling with the Flash IDE of CC, he works all the time with no problems.
Update-2: when I run EXE installator, there will be a notification "same version is installed, etc.', then choose 'Run Now' - he also works without any problem.
Well, I found the solution and the answer by myself and it is here please:
In the case with the same situation above, you will need to add a single line in your AS3 code
nativeProcessStartupInfo.workingDirectory = File.applicationDirectory;
And you will be so happy

Help! I think I've found a very obvious bug?
Hi all
I had a:
XmlParse (myitem)
I can't access any node using the following notation. The problem
seems to be the "-" in the name of the node. The error says that it cannot find todo, todo-list.
#myxmldoc.todo - list.complete.XmlText #.
If I try with it written as todolist, it works. So I think that the bug is that you can't access xml notes with a "-" in the name?
Problem is that I can't change the source xml. Any ideas?
Thank you very much
BrettIt is not a bug: it's an incorrect syntax on your part.
There are explicit rules on the variable naming in the CF when using
dot notation. We get around this by using array notation.
foo
. complete.xmlText # #myxmldoc ['todo list']

I am getting fake SQL code when generating types in JDevelper 11.1.1.3.0.
Process:
1. create a new application: Test
2. create a new project: Project1
3. create the database offline: ECIS
4. create a contact schema
5 create a type:
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE HAS_REASON_OF_CETYPE AS OBJECT
(
has_reason_of varchar2 (36)
)
6 create a table based on the previous type type:
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE HAS_REASON_OF_CETYPE_LIST
AS THE contact.has_reason_of_cetype TABLE;
7. generate SQL script. Results:
CREATE THE HAS_REASON_OF_CETYPE_LIST TYPE
AS_REASON_OF_CETYPE_LIST <-this is the wrong code
AS THE contact.has_reason_of_cetype TABLE;
/
CREATE THE HAS_REASON_OF_CETYPE TYPE
AS_REASON_OF_CETYPE AS OBJECT <-fact here too
(
has_reason_of varchar2 (36)
)
/
I have not seen this error with type names in our project, or this error in the previous version. Someone has seen this before and knows a way around it?
Published by: user13324293 on July 20, 2010 11:48It's a regression in the PS2 (11.1.1.3.0) during our generation of DDL has been rewritten. The problem, in a nutshell, is that while determining if the generated DDL must precede the name of the object with a differnet scheme, there are some erroneous (simpler) made of string manipulation. So if the name (or schema.name) in the source contains the token of what follows (ie the ACE or IS) has the problem. This problem is fixed in 11.1.2.0.0 and 11.1.1.4.0 streams.
There are two possible solutions.
You can use instead OF as in the above case (in the STATE does not appear in the name) or simply change the case of ACE so that it is not the same as in the name - that is to say use "beneath", 'As' or 'Sub '.
I hope this helps.

Bug tracking in Sql Developer (stable and EA worm.)
Hello everyone,
I just read on this thread {message identifier: = 3883502} "Bugs documented in Metalink."
Does that mean on the community that does not use Metalink?
Is this the place where a bug can be written?You can always communicate bugs here, but they could unnoticed to the development team.
The only official place for official versions (non - EA) is the Metalink/My Oracle Support.Kind regards

Comments:
The bug was found by students in our SQL courses.
Using a larger database in this course, the bug can be reproduced
(same question as above) to
http://www.semwebtech.org/sqlfrontend/
(false: 142 correct answers: 154 replies)
At the course to reduce it to a simple sample, there were a few interesting
comments: try with smaller and simpler tables (without the key)
and synthetic data, the bug not moved immediately. When
Reaffirming the query after about a day, the bug occurred. Obviously,.
Oracle creates indexes on its own internal sound course
optimization that (or more accurately, its use) shows the bug. The
query (shown in SQL Developer) plan was the same before and after.
WolfgangThere is a typo in in the test data - GB should probably not be in Sweden. However...
the bug is not immediately
It is possible. But that would have happened almost certainly, is that execution plan DID change at some point. There are several reasons why it might not be immediate.
Obviously, Oracle creates indexes on its own its internal optimization course
Far from obvious, what are you doing about everything?
The query plan is the same before and after
You bet it wasn't.
A clear illustration of the issue and the indication that there must be a bug is below.
Simply referring to a different access method, we can change the result. Therefore, a bug.
See [url http://support.oracle.com] Oracle Support and search for "bad results".
Please raise with Support of Oracle to get confirmation of the bug.
There were so many bugs bad results recently, this is getting ridiculous.
It's a real question, IMHO.
If you can't trust the DB to rectify your data...
Note that the query plan is really NOT the same thing and that's the difference in the query plan that s it is the root cause of the bug.

ManagedDataAccess bug when using mixed comments (reopened)
Hello
There is a bug when the sql text uses two types of comment (/ * / and -) together and also there is a comment at the beginning of sql. The unmanaged client with same sql works very well.
Simple code to reproduce the bug:
using (OracleConnection connection = new OracleConnection (connectionString))
{
connection. Open();
string sqlCommandtext = @"" / * Hello * / select * from the double ";" This works.
string sqlCommandtext = @"" / * Hello * / select * from double / * Hello * / ";" /this. work
string sqlCommandtext = @"" select * from double - Hello '; " /this. work
String sqlCommandtext = @"" / * Hello * / select * from the double - Hello ";" //This doesn't work
string sqlCommandtext = @"/ * Hello * / select * of the double / *-Hello * / "; " //This doesn't work either.
using (OracleCommand command = connection. CreateCommand())
{
cmd.CommandText = sqlCommandtext;
using (IDataReader reader is cmd. ExecuteReader())
{
while (player. Read / / < < < without exception, the drive appears to be empty. Use of dataadapter issues the same behavior (buggy).
{
Console.WriteLine (reader. GetString (0));
}
}
}
}
Can you confirm this bug?
Thank you.
This is a known bug (Bug 21811441). A fix is available in 12.1.0.2 Patch 11 and thereafter.

People,
I'm under production Developer SQL on Oracle Linux 5.8 and whenever I click on the link Java in browser connections with a SYS AS SYSDBA SQL Developer connection is suspended.
Oracle Enterprise Edition 11.2.0.1.0

Do the same with the user SCOTT (no SYSDBA) works very well (although there is no Java objects).
Thank you

This was noted as a bug.
The bad plan/performance was recorded as a bug. Developer SQL has not hang for me - I was able to cancel the query using the Panel on the progress of tasks.

Bug really bad iframe, caused by the Magic Mouse or other design Apple entry
Hello world.
I found a very annoying bug that can be reproduced only by entry legacy Apple in Safari.
If the parent container has a fixed height and overflow: scroll, then the inner iframe is not properly scrolling. He could only scroll down, or only to the top. But not at the same time.
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IpjAbWgbuc
Demo: https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/plio/other/iframe_scroll_safari_issue.html
I need to use the iframe to display the content of the documents converted to business customers. Many of them use Safari, it is really important.
Tested in Safari Version 9.0.3, 9.1.1, OS X El Capitan 10.11.3.

I get a very strange bug with firefox after yesterday the upgrade to version 9.01
You are not on the latest version of Firefox. Update today
to get the best of the Web!
3/4 times it appears at startup which is strange because it is the most recent version and I removed the other oldest out of my system manually before installing.
I have seen this reported recently reset the default home page (subject: House) solves the problem. Ref:
https://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/questions/907328 Why my start page says "you are not on the latest version of Firefox. Update today to get the best of the Web! "when in fact I have the latest version?
Solution (Posted by SafeBrowser):
You can see this message under the Google search box on www.google.com/firefox which is the old default Firefox homepage. It seems that this page is no longer maintained by Google. You seem to have the latest version of Firefox.
If you want the Google search page as home page, change your home page to about: House (a new version of the old homepage Google/Firefox update is now integrated into Firefox).
See-> http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
Also see-> https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Finding+your+Firefox+version
You can also see your version on the help > troubleshooting information display.The simple solution is to go to Start, the home page, tabs and download settings and click on the button "Restore Default", explained How to set the home page.

Gallery in photo book, annoying bug.
As photos are imported in photo book in chronological order, it's a pain that photo gallery (photos showing all imported at the bottom of the window) always comes back to the beginning after having chosen a photo and put it on a page. You have to constantly drag forward to resume where you left and it consumes time and effort because it is not so easy to find your way in case you have lots of photos to choose from. Very annoying bug and it should be fixed as soon as POSSIBLE!

Legend bug XYGraph slider blocks instantly LabView 2012
Hello!
I'm just facing a very annoying bug.
Please find my attached VI example, I would like to know the weather, you can confirm the bug? Run the VI if you want to see a curve (in fact the bug appears even if you put all the data on the chart, if you do, all the same) and after that try to click the cursor vertical scroll bar legend to scroll upwards or downwards to see the cursor names.
It instantly blocks my full version of LabVIEW 2012 Edition: 12.0.1f2 (32 bit). This XYGraph is still blocking LabView... I can't continue with my project, now I will just try to work around the error, I'll try to remove the sliders and then add them again...
In any case, a very strange and very annoying behavior...
Anyone could repeat the same bug?
Thanks for the support!
The reason for the accident seems to be duplication of the cursor "Gas_inject." There are four times. Using the property node 'CursorList' to remove these duplicates made the VI DO NOT crash when you move the vertical scroll bar of the legend of cursor.
To simplify:
Read the CursorList first, remove any duplicated the table manually in the indicator (right-click on the element > data operations > Delete Element). The change to a control, change the property node to write and run the VI once.
