A website wants to open...

I get a security message to Internet Explorer, "a website wants to open web content using this program on your computer - Adobe Reader and Acrobat Manager" obviously based on my security settings of the browser (medium?).  I only have Adobe Acrobat Pro XI installed on the computer.  I continue to check "Do not show me the warning for this program again" and do not allow, but it keeps coming up everytime I turn on the computer.  Becoming a PITA. How do I turn off these messages without reducing my rate of security?

It turns out it was Shockwave which was an add-on for Internet Explorer.  When I disabled it Shockwave about 5 days ago, I saw the security warning user account control.  You might want to add checking Internet Explorer Add-ons to your list of things to check.  Thanks for the help, Ken Goodwin Houston, TX

  • You want to open links in a new tab, not a new window.

When using a mouse, I know I can middle-click (wheel) and I'm clicking on the link will open in a new tab. I also know that I can drag this link to the sign on the tabs bar + and it will open. But when you use the keyboard only, when I want to open a Web page link in a new tab, it always opens in a new window, why?

I noticed when looking at the support of Mozilla that hit any box opens in a new tab (this is the effect I want) why is it not the case on other Web pages?

I can answer my own question here, but would it be the site of "NewsNow" one which is causing my problem?

As I wrote above, that the tabs setting only applies to links that have a specified target window.
You can click on the link and the code in the Inspector.

If there is a button 'ev' Annex then, it means that JavaScript events are related to the link.

  • Firefox opens in a tiny window, and I want to open full page... How?

Firefox opens to my homepage as you want, but it's on a window in the upper right corner, about 4 "and 3" high. It's easily slide into a display full size, but I want to open this way, as it did before I updated to the version of Firefox yesterday. I find no immediately obvious option to set the size of this opening by default. How can I do this? Also, I have now a problem with Flash crashing that I didn't before the update. How to fix this?

Thanks for the heads up, Cor - el.

  • I always want to open a new session of firefox.

I have the setting on the screen of the General options for Firefox open my homepage when it starts. I wish he would do that. If I wanted to open my previous session, I would like to use this setting. When Firefox plant she does it anyway. Apparently, my web browser thinks he's smarter then me. It is a problem. I tried to have words with her, but is apparently not smart enough for that to be possible. This compounds the problem.

Even if Firefox crashes I won't open my previous session automatically. How can I disable this feature? If I want my previous session restored even after I crash, I'm still able to do so via the menu in the history. I have Firefox 27.0.1.

There is a hidden parameter to stop the Firefox of recovering the previous session automatically after a crash. I have not tried it myself, but according to the documentation, it's the one you want:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste sess and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    3. double-click on browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash to switch from true to false.

  • How can I stop the click "" Firefox"is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it? » ?

Whenever I launch Firefox 20 Mac OS X 10.7.5, I get the warning message by clicking "" Firefox"is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it? ». How can I stop this? There are displays on internet and previous assignments on this resolution by using Terminal commands for OS X 10.5.x & 10.6.x, but these commands do NOT work in 10.7.x or 10.8.x. This seems to be a problem of Firefox ONLY, and resolve by disabling the recommended world of security features to OS X, as before in a previously closed thread appears as a solution really BAD. Is there a "Firefox" solution only, or I will have to just to stop using Firefox?

Make sure that Firefox is installed correctly.

Open the Firefox disk image (DMG) file and drag the Firefox program in the folder of the application on your hard drive.
You should not double-click the Firefox application to run from the disk image and drag it out of the DMG file instead.
